His follow up statement is actually kind of baller. I'd much rather see this Trump-esque disregard for the usual feigned moral hullabaloo than the status quo.

The issue now is that if you aren’t sufficiently outraged publicly, you get accused of being complicit somehow. So the dems in their tireless effort of taking the high road, overblow every response to anything to try and set an example, lest they be accused enabling the behavior. No apology is ever good enough and if you aren’t perfect, you’re a shitlord.
He seems unapologetic, Im sure he'll get ripped for crediting himself for furthering the conversation etc. I think this is just one big plea from him to be invited on Bill Maher's show.
Because he’s not fucking wrong. I’m seeing a lot of people equating what Al Franken did to what Roy Moore did. Well, it's interesting to see all these left wing media outlets revisit the Bill Clinton scandal. He says earlier in the article that he doubts Clinton's presidency would have survived the scandals in modern times. I think he's right, it's amazing how much has changed in 20 years. Do people remember what feminists were saying back then? And when they weren't saying that... This is why I can't take it seriously when people complain that a "a vote for Trump is a vote for enabling sexual harassment." Yeah, that only works when his opponent isn't one of the greatest enablers of all time. I don't know that it gets more enabling than threatening the woman who accused him of rape. Oh, but politico said that didn't happen. Never mind, it's all good. Back then the more women who accused him the less they were believed, and the more it was dismissed as attention seeking. Speaking of Franken though, if the senate is serious about potentially removing him from office - and it appears they are - doesn't Trump's sexual harassment scandals make him impeachable? I'm not sure if I would agree that he should be impeached based on that, but if Franken is to be removed from office for what he did, how would it not be impeachable? His allegations aren't as serious as the ones against Clinton(unless you believe the 12 year old rape story, which is about as credible as pizzagate). Bill had officers bringing women to his doorstep, rape allegations, hiring women for quid pro quo sexual favors, etc. Still, I'm surprised the democrats haven't pushed this more, rather than just publicly denouncing it. I'm pretty sure sexual assault falls within the scope of "high crimes and misdemeanors."
Trump is impeachable for a dozen separate reasons. The problem is that we're so divided as a population that we're effectively in a standoff. Why should one side give up an incredibly valuable office when the other side won't? Democrats don't want to remove Franken in an environment where the Republicans are willing to vote in Moore, and Republicans don't want to give a Senate seat to Jones when they could just vote in Moore and then leave him/replace him with another Republican as they wish.
I hope he never apologizes. I hope he writes “Go fuck yourselves” on his tombstones to these fake clowns. Like they have nothing better to do right now in your country than pretend to be offended by this guy. Fuck the entire lot of them. He should be your next President.
From what I saw around the day the accusation came out, more Democrats seemed to be in favor of an ethics investigation into Franken than republicans. The gop knows that if franken gets in the hot seat for this, then Trump and others will be exposed. The gop has completely turned a blind eye to trumps accusations. Another possibility is that there’s more to this story than Tweeden has led us to believe and Franken knows it. The fact that Franken issued a full endorsement of an ethics investigation into himself and that Tweeden didn’t think it was necessary, also tells me something. I think if Al had a long storied history of sexual assault, he wouldn’t be so forthcoming. Let’s get her under oath and see how the facts play out. I’ve read some interesting things on twitter suggesting the photo of him with his hands over her chest had been edited and there was some rough photoshop inconsistencies with regards to shadows and lighting of objects in the photo. And also that the exif data on the photo had been edited. An ethics investigation should be interesting.
It’s funny how this whole sudden sexual media stew is strictly limited to the famous. Right now I’m not hearing the tidal wave of regular, everyday folk coming forward to rat out the various priests, coaches, guidance counsel lots and lesbian gym teachers who wronged them in the past. It largely seems to fit the mould of has-beens who are accusing people who became more famous than them. I’m sure the entire thing is a coincidence.
