Pretty much every breaking Trump story in this case where Mueller's team had no comment is likely a leak. They are the only people who should have the info. Look at McCabe and how he rolled his entire time at the FBI.....purely modus operandi. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-m...iminal-leak-land-cnns-story-mueller-probe-no/ http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...charges-in-russia-trump-associates-probe.html For someone of your political pursuasion, this is as close to the truth as you can get.
The pattern I've seen is that information about the probe only goes public when and if someone outside of Mueller's team gets it. So when they interview someone, or a subpoena goes out, etc. I haven't seen an example yet where something known only to Mueller's team leaks, and I've seen plenty of examples of Mueller's team successfully sitting on something for months without even a rumor of it getting out. From where I'm sitting the SS Mueller is the most watertight boat in Washington.
The article you quoted states that the main suspect of the leak is a defence attorney. As in the people going against Mueller.
You do realize that the raid was done by the US Attorney's Office, right? By a guy personally approved by Trump? Who is a Trump donor? http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41419191 "Geoffrey Berman has served as the acting US attorney for the Southern District for more than a year, after Mr Trump fired his predecessor, Preet Bharara. He's a long-time Republican donor, including to Mr Trump's presidential campaign, and has reportedly recused himself from the investigation." It's about bank fraud and potential misuse of campaign finances to pay off a porn star. EDIT: fixed link to go to proper BBC source
Trump has pardoned Scooter Libby. White House surrogates have described him as a "victim of a special counsel run amok." His crimes were, among other things, false statements and obstruction of justice. The special counsel was appointed by then deputy-AG James Comey. This is not even remotely subtle.
In other news, Cohen's crimes are starting to come into focus. Covering up the Stormy Daniels thing looks like one out of many, and not just for Trump. So much so that the NDA Stormy signed was basically a template NDA he used, pseudonyms included. Given the scale of the monies paid, his "I paid the $130K of my own money on my own initiative" story pretty much falls apart, which opens up a lot of questions about where the money for these payoffs came from. There's also the angle that he would get the women to use the same lawyer, who was almost certainly acting in Cohen's interest and not the interest of their client(s).
I guess at this point the question is rhetorical, but I can't shake it: If trump is innocent, if he has done nothing illegal and has nothing to hide as he claims, then why is he hiding everything and afraid of investigation? Innocent people don't hide. When cops say stop, they stop and talk instead of run. If a president hasn't done anything worthy of impeachment, he doesn't act like someone who is trying to hide acts that might lead to impeachment.
“I don’t know Mr. Libby, but I have heard for years that he was treated unfairly.” That’s what Trump said. That’s just how stupid he is.
Nope. He was right the first time. Can confirm from personal experience. Most law enforcement are good folks on the up and up, and I have several friends in law enforcement that I would trust with my life. But, if you think cops do not, or will not, lie and break the rules to get someone, the concussions have done more damage than you may realize.
I think that ultimately, if push comes to shove and the truth can put you in jail, everyone will lie. Hell, just look at our president right now.
I think any comparison between Meuller and a rogue cop is a bit outlandish. The guy is as straight up as they come, and knows that everything he does will be under the most scrutiny of anything he's ever done before. Don't forget that EVERYONE agreed that he was the right guy for the job in the first place. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...ace-robert-mueller-special-counsel/101810310/ Now that shit is being found, indictments are going out, being plead guilty to, etc, everyone's all up in arms about a "witch hunt". If there's nothing there, then let him keep on going.
Oh, look... Cohen seems to be the GOP lawyer of choice to use to pay off porn stars... not just for Trump. https://www.politico.com/story/2018/04/13/rnc-deputy-finance-chair-broidy-resigns-522867
Just wanted to make sure that wasn't directed at me, or if it was, to clear the air. I made the cop comparrison because I felt that running from a cop (showing you're guilty) is appropriate to what trump is doing right now. I know cops shootings and all that are a sensitive issue right now, but that wasn't my intention. To get back on topic, and no one has answered this question: why does trump keep trying to hid while claiming he's innocent? If he's innocent, what's there to gain by running?
Finally. Where’s Slim Whitman when you need him? What good are you guys if you aren’t putting holes in the planet?
