He used his wife as a fucking billboard? That’s WAY better. That jacket becomes a meme in 5....4....3...
4d chess it lets the leftist media lose their shit and Trump gets to claim, legitimately, the press will twist anything against him no matter how rediculous.
Legitimately? Lol Wearing something that says “I don’t really care” on a trip that was just meant to say “I do actually care” is so phenomenally fucking stupid that you at least are gonna get asked about it. So they ask and a spokesman says “no hidden message, don’t pay attention to her wardrobe." Flotus then continues to wear it. Trump hits the twitters and states there is a hidden message and it is a (totally bullshit) attack on the media. So we just had a govt spokesperson lie to us, a well meaning trip about taking care of orphaned children twisted into the president's narcissistic delusion about fake news, meanwhile the president's whole administration still can't get a handle on what its own policies are regarding migration, and the press is wrong to say, "good gosh are these horrible fucking people who aren't good at their jobs?" The American people can't trust the the first lady will be able to walk into an orphanage and somehow not turn it into a shit fight where she lies to us all directly. The president who can't figure out how to fucking enforce a coherent border policy is picking fights with the media on Twitter about it. Does all this matter very much? No, not really in a specific sense. But it is a perfect example of why these people and their enablers should never be given power ever again. You should feel insulted and disrespected that they are either unable or unwilling to do these jobs with even the slightest hint of professionalism and seriousness it requires.
Let's be honest here, it's far more likely that the President lied than it is that the First Lady or her spokesman did.
Trump is a real time opportunist. He constantly makes shit up on the fly. I have no doubt that she wore it without it meaning anything other than “hot new trendy clothes” and then he saw it and appropriated it to be about him and his “fake news” cause.
Your overboard response is exactly what feeds the beast that carried him into office with his hardcore supporters in the first place. You do realize this right? The more apoplectic you get the more his supports see you as unhinged. He's obviously playing to his base over a nothing burger that he knows he can gain more adulation from. It's like the pink ooze from Ghostbuster 2, he feeds off the oppositions bad vibes and anger. Ive seen some articles and commentators take a step back and recognize it. Not sure if just looking away from the Arch of the Covenant will help defeat him, but I can't come up with better movie metaphors. Crown should be by shortly to help here. This is probably the closest to reality. He probably didn't stage it but took advantage of the situation when, on cue, the outrage culture/media reacted.
His natural instinct is to just lie. His entire life has never revolved around being truthful about a single fucking thing. With a mentality consisting entirely of self preservation and narcissism, the truth is irrelevant.
Oh I've heard all that before. I'm not sure if buy it. And considering I'm posting this anonymously on a forum that like seven people read I most definitely don't care because nothing I write is going to affect anything one way or another.
Don't worry people hosting infotainment editorial news programs have been having the same reaction for years now.
Trump voters are so disconnected from reality than I have genuinely zero worry that anything I, or anyone else, does in reality will have any impact one way or another on how they vote. Trump voters voted for Trump because they wanted to. Everything else is just a rationalization.
Meanwhile, in other news besides windbreaker game, the IG report came out this week which is pretty damning for both FBI and Justice. Seems Trey Gowdy is a little unhappy: Doesn't it bother anyone even a little that this is going on in an institution that is supposed to be the bedrock of the American way. Justice and it's law enforcement arm are required to be politically impartial. This showed the exact opposite. Yet we are going to sit here and debate a windbreaker and the treatment of illegal border crossers instead? Treatment that isn't new and hasn't changed but is now a problem because of who is sitting in the White House now. I'm looking forward to seeing what criminal referrals come out of this to make it right. I am also interested to see if they revisit Clinton after this is over because clearly they sandbagged that first investigation on purpose and for political reasons.
So... I just realized that she wore that jacket on the way to visit a child detention center in Texas. LA Times headline was fucking hilarious: http://www.latimes.com/opinion/la-o...tted-at-texas-child-1529602093-htmlstory.html
If we are looking to figure out how Donald Trump came to be, it feels a little silly to blame it on the reaction of "left wing" media to be honest. I mean at the very least it would seem like right wing media would have more of an impact on right wing voters. There is an entire separate reality that takes place on the right wing and it is scary. Donald Trump appeared on Infowars ffs. He was willing to legitimize a guy who thinks Sandy Hook is a conspiracy to reach voters. I guess I'm just a smarmy liberal scold when I say that is as terrible as it is fucking stupid.
I'm waiting for part 2 of the IG report coming out about the leaks from the New York field office to people in and around the Trump campaign. If you thought Peter Strzok having an opinion was bad, wait till the rest comes out.
Is that the part about Lynch and McCabe leveraging the Eric Garner case to get the NY Office to drop the Weiner laptop deal to cover Clinton's tracks or something else?
You're being modest Im sure you're witty enough and if youd made a tweet caustic enough you could get it picked up my a major media outlet. It's almost to the point it seems eerily reminiscent to the time before W was reelected. I was a sophomore in college and everyone and their sister on campus was in melt down rages about Bush and his blood for oil war. Not their president etc etc. I remember passing a cardboard sign when I was at Bonnaroo that summer that said "Bob Wier thinks this could be the last free election" and chuckling. If Trump wins again and takes the popular vote? ELL OHH ELL
I'm not sure actually. This has to do with the famous Comey press announcement in October just before the election where he lambasted Clinton but said he wouldn't recommend prosecution or something along those lines. Evidently, from what I've read, him and McCabe got word about the additional emails on Weiner's laptop but knew they were duplicates of emails they had already gone through. Agents in the New York field office threatened to release the info about the emails to the public so Comey was faced with a decision to openly discuss them or not discuss them. Not discussing them would make it look like he was hiding something important to favor Clinton. Openly talking about them could possibly ratfuck the election but would allow the bureau to save face, sorta. I think thats the gist. There could be more that I'm missing.
Treatment did change dimwit. You can say you don't care that it did, but it's just factually incorrect to say that the Trump didn't change anything. As to the rest, Trey Gowdy would definitely be an expert on how to politicize investigations at least.
