If I was to speculate any one reason for this it would be the ACA. I think there's a very large portion of the working class it's negatively impacting and is driving working-class rejection of the Democratic party.
Both parties. Trump got 44% of the Republican vote during the primary. Bernie Sanders got 47% of the Democratic vote in the primary. (I think those numbers are right.) I think there is an non-unified identity in both parties. Hell, the Republicans had 16 candidates!
It might be that people in general are frustrated with the government and the right's primary unifying theme is 'smaller government'. It wouldn't push a high percentage of people over the edge, but this country is usually split down the middle.
I don't see why the GOP would need to do that, because their current strategy has made them ascendant.
President Trump Secretary of State Newt Gingrich Attorney General Rudy Giuliani Press Secretary Alex Jones? Good times.
I am physically ill. I can't believe our next president is two steps away from fucking President Camacho. The thing that pisses me off the most is the DNC pushing down on the Hillary scale and screwing over Bernie, a guy who, by all accounts, would have anally fisted Trump today. The second thing that pisses me off is the tacit approval from the American citizenry of racism, xenophobia, and sexual assault. I'm so fucking disgusted.
That exists, and will always exist, but if you're going to try to convince me that that's what this election came down to I'm going to laugh my ass off.
Yea been a bit for that. 232 trump 209 Clinton, with trump having a lead in most of the states. All hail our orangutan overlord
Fuckin' everyone legalized weed. California, North Dakota, Arkansas, Massachusetts, and a bunch others I can't remember.
Theres a level of pretentiousness that the Democratic party embodies. If you listen to the news and the polling data, they were relying so heavily on the "white college educated" demographic. All so often, there is a dismissal of people that don't fit that category. And a lot of the dems just don't care about them. Bernie would probably be having a better night. But Wasserman-Schultz fucked him as well as the rest of the DNC. Whether you feel he shouldn't have been the candidate because he was never a democrat before doesn't matter. He had support but they wanted to make sure Hillary got her turn. That pissed off a lot of people. Made them lose faith in the system and the value of their voice. Hillary is also a shit candidate. She could still win this. But the dems need to to refocus on who they appeal to. And stop writing off people from small towns.
I find it interesting how each of the news agencies have totally different projections/numbers. The difference between CNN and Fox is huge.
I urge you not to feel that way. I don't know yet, if Trump will be president. And, I did not vote for Trump. But, do you honestly think that everyone who did is a racist, xebophobic assaulter? We are clearly a divided nation on ideas, but that doesn't mean everyone who thinks differently is an idiot, and that we can't work together in positive ways. Removing labels, assumptions and prejudice is critical.
Either way I reckon people should start flexing up and getting ready to bend over the end of the couch and take the position
