It's really hard to not feel anger at someone who has basically legitimized racist dog whistling as a political tool under the guise of being bombastic. The only cold comfort I can take from all this is the possibility of a presidential impeachment. If Trump hasn't started World War 3 in two years, I imagine the midterms could be a bloodbath for Republicans.

So what issue do you change positions on in order to do this? I'm thinking gun control, possibly free trade, but beyond that I don't know. The outrageous hypocrisy that would represent would leave me utterly speechless. It's not that everyone's a racist, xenophobic assaulter, it's that is sends a message that a great lot of people simply don't care about racism, xenophobia, or sexism.
Tell yourself whatever you want. The left is going to spend at least a full two years trying to make this about race. He said negative things about certain groups in reference to true situations that are actually happening. He didn't shit on any ethnic group in general, and he cracks jokes because "Fuck PC" was a big part of his campaign.
I would love to see a state like California use that as an excuse to pick a fight with the federal government. There's going to be a lot of chafing in blue states that they (along with Texas) are majority funding a federal government in which they essentially have zero representation at this point. They're going to lose the presidency despite winning the popular vote. They're outnumbered in the Senate by virtue of the system and the way state lines are drawn, and they've been largely gerrymandered out of the House.
Listening to CNN try and explain Hilary's loss so far is quite funny... "hey, maybe people are pissed off at the politics in the country, and it wasn't all about the FBI Director making statements..."

California NEEDS money, and there's no way in hell they're going to give up the Weed Tax just because the Feds say so... they will fight it tooth and nail.
I have been saying this for a while. Leave people's guns alone. If guns get taken away it will be very hard if not impossible to get them back.
Or maybe they feel that the stink in politics is more important to them than those issues. It doesn't mean that they agree with that stuff, but maybe they want the other dealt with more.
