I mean, I’ve seen some videos of his band from back in the day. It was garbage, but that’s what unsuccessful punk bands sound like. They looked like they just had fun and didn’t care if they weren’t good. His music background wasn’t being used to pander to anyone. And he’s not trying to use it for that reason now. The GOP is. I tell you what, in Texas, that’s not going to work.

Which is hilarious because their singer went on to front The Mars Volta, a hugely successful band.

I remember reading once that he had some sort of 6 degrees thing with that band but forgot how. Makes sense.

Beto also has a DWI and some misdemeanor from back in the day, which he owned up to like a man so now no one can use it against him.

It's like every time the GOP tries to throw something at him, not only does it not stick, it just makes him more powerful.

The difference between him and Cruz couldn’t be more stark. Ted Cruz is pure, unbridled opportunism and ambition in human form. He’s also wicked smaht. He’s a legendary debator. And he epitomizes intellectual dishonesty. His vocal patterns are like that of an evangelical preacher. Beto is more of a pure human who actually comes from El Paso. And he’s much better looking than Cruz. In politics, looks do matter to some degree.

At the end of the day though, Beto is better off not doing a debate with him. Even if he’s more “right” in his politics and ideas, guys like Cruz are more talented in that realm.

Cruz once wrote a paper arguing that vibrators should be illegal. Nothing he says or does is in any way "relevant" or "appropriate" for 2018.

I would love to watch them debate. Beto is eloquent, intelligent, and makes his point without being disrespectful. Cruz would have made a good politician in the prohibition era. I swear Texans only elected him because he wore a cowboy hat in his campaign pictures.

Mueller Makes Major Connection, Tying Secret Ukrainian Money to Trump Inauguration

    https://lawandcrime.com/high-profil...secret-ukrainian-money-to-trump-inauguration/

Why does this matter? It had already been reported as far back as April that Mueller was investigating whether “wealthy Russians illegally funneled cash donations directly or indirectly into Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and inauguration.”

Sources said at the time claimed that Mueller had a theory that “straw donors” (particularly Americans) acted as “a vessel through which they could pump money into the campaign and inauguration fund.”

D.C. prosecutors are saying that this is exactly what happened in the case of Patten. In fact, they said he admitted it.

The latest news is that Patten has waived a trial by jury. The reason why is that he’s reached a plea agreement to cooperate with both Team Mueller’s investigation and D.C. prosecutors.

Well, the Daily Show has a trophy case full of Emmys, so if wildly flailing at every theory in the 5 minute news cycle until one comes to fruition is worthy of Pulitzers now she could be racking them up for a long time.

Isn't she the one that screamed "I've got Trump's tax returns!" and it turns out she had the cover sheet and nothing else?

The way the gop has handled this has been dishonest at the very best. It’s almost as if they are trying to jam this through before the election because they know it would never happen after they lose in the midterms.

Seems to work that way for both sides, depending on who is in the majority.

    Scum, all of them.

You’re gonna “both sides” this shit? Do you think dems would be allowed to stuff a lifetime appointment through without any real chance at a thorough document review? Not to mention to blocking of other sets of documents under th guise of “executive privilege”?

I tend to think that Obama would have dealt with the process with much more respect than most, due to his history (lawyer, consitutional law professor, etc), but yeah, I think both sides would take full advantage of any/all situations to get "their" way.

I just think the Dems are quicker to invoke victim status.
