I'm just imagining them putting out the first statement, then Flood walks into the room and asks "Did you dumb motherfuckers just put out a statement that basically says we agree with the testimony that's about to be given against our client?!"
If only the internet had a rewind button. C’est la vie. “We only meant that he’d tell the truth if there was no plea. No that he’s talking, it’s a lie.”
I'm a huge fan of the observation people have made then when it comes to the "party of fiscal responsibility," electing them raises the deficit, but investigating them for crimes actually lowers it.
Has any of this recent news shown any Russian collusion? Or is it just shady/fucked up business practices? This is getting ridiculous. Yes, multi millionaires are guilty of doing fucked up shit and fuck them, let them get what they deserve. Guilty motherfuckers, burn in hell. I don't care. Has any of this shit shown that Trump colluded with the Russians? Or has it just shown that shitty people have done shitty things to fatten their wallet?
The Trump Tower meeting is, and remains, collusion based only on the information we have publicly, much less what may be further revealed once the special counsel releases its full report. That said, Manafort's plea deal relates to, among other things, charges stemming from his lobbying work within, and on behalf of interests within, Ukraine. That work was to support anti-democratic/pro-Kremlin interests and candidates, particularly Viktor Yanukovych (current whereabouts: Russia after fleeing Ukraine to avoid being charged with treason). Mueller's investigation isn't over yet, but everything we've seen so far indicates an incredibly effective and efficient investigation that is making impressive headway on a very broad mandate.
A number of his team have now been indicted for, and plead guilty to, among other things, illegal dealings with foreign governments and banks and failing to register as foreign agents. Trump himself, not yet. Just about everyone around him that was on his team? Pretty much. It's called building a case, and it takes time. But they are definitely finding shit, and making it stick... this isn't just "rich guys doing rich-guy things"... there are very rich foreigners with ties to Russia and the Ukraine that have funded various aspects of Trump's campaign. That's party why they're following the money... because it shows the relationships. Here's a recap if you want to read it: https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/2/20/17031772/mueller-indictments-grand-jury
Another thing is that with Manafort's plea deal, he has to now sever his defence from Trump. This is a big deal because up until now, Trump and Manafort have had a shared defence, which means they've shared lawyers. That means that the same lawyers that would be in meetings with Manafort and Mueller, also represent Trump. This plea deal kills that joint defence... Manafort has now agreed to be questioned, about anything, any where, at any time, with any government official, State or Federal, without a lawyer in the room. And don't forget that this plea deal also drains all of his bank accounts, here and abroad, and forfeits all of his properties, and ensures that he is not allowed to become financially enriched by any of these proceedings (as in, no book or movie deal). https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/these-are-the-questions-manafort-s-plea-deal-lets-mueller-ask-1.1138146 From the article: Perhaps the most important line of questioning Mueller will have for Manafort is what went on at a June 9, 2016, meeting at Trump Tower with a Russian lawyer and a Russian-born lobbyist. Mueller has been questioning other witnesses about what they knew of the meeting where damaging information was promised on Democrat Clinton. Trump’s eldest son, Donald Jr., arranged the session and invited Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and Manafort. The meeting is of interest to Mueller because it could be a touchpoint between the Trump campaign and Kremlin-linked associates even as Russia was intensifying its efforts to meddle in the 2016 election. Mueller has sought interviews with other people involved in the meeting, including the London publicist who set up the gathering and the lobbyist who also attended, according to media reports. Mueller also has been asking witnesses about the crafting of a misleading statement about the meeting given to the New York Times.
It's been damn near two years. And we still have nothing other then people related to Trump being guilty of shit that had nothing to do with the election. They were shit people and did shit things, but thus far no one has connected the dots to their shitty behavior to Trump to Russia. This whole thread has become nuts wildly speculating about the latest click bait MSM report about Trump or anyone Trump related and how it's definitely going to be his downfall. Anymore I don't fucking care. If Trump colluded with the Russians, burn him at the stake and shit on his grave. But at the very least come up with something other then "Someone he worked with/employed did something shitty" that had nothing to do with anyone Russian.
It's been one year and four months into a process that averages several years, and in that short time Mueller has gotten guilty pleas from Trump's National Security Advisor, personal lawyer, and campaign manager, plus a number of lesser figures, and indictments against more than a dozen foreign nationals. Mueller is on pace to have run the quickest and most successful special counsel investigation of all time. Spoiler: lengths of prior investigations This chart is from Dec 2017, so the Mueller line is a little shorter and with fewer indictments and pleas than it is today.
The accusation against Kavanaugh is attempted rape in the 1980s. Ronan Farrow wrote that piece, and he was the one that broke the Weinstein story, so I'm paying a bit closer attention now.
Does he have some first rights deal with every accuser of a public figure? I’d hate to get a call from him asking for a comment.
Yeah... and the GOP new about it before he was nominated. Seems that Feinstein might not have been the slimy one after all.
