Plus you know, the totally unrelated part where Kavanaugh's mother was the presiding judge over the foreclosure of the accuser's parent's house in the mid-90s.
No it was while they practiced the sketch in private beforehand I believe. Leeann Tweeden accepted his apology for it. It was still politically more expedient to run him out of office then to let the mechanisms in place to run their course.
So you’re working off the theory that this woman in 2012 started masterminding an entirely false accusation to ruin a guy on the off chance he was nominated to SCOTUS years later because she was upset about something his mom did in the 90s? Sounds likely. Much likelier than a drunk teenage male sexually assaulting teenage girl.
Im not working off any theory, Im saying thats a hell of a coincidence. That combined with conflicting key details about the events of her claims, such as parties involved, date and time of the occurrence as well as where it actually happened don't make for a compelling or likely case at all. Now if hes caught lying about any part of it, whether it actually occurred or not, that should immediately disqualify him. But since that has not happened yet, I dont think there is currently grounds to do so.
This. Exactly this. Regardless of how fucking stupid life appointments are, there is at least enough to warrant wanting to know more. The details -- at least the ones that are public -- are sketchy at best, but given the circumstances and what's at stake, you gotta get to the bottom of it. That being said, trump admitted to sexual assault and the country made him president, so there is kinda some precedent for letting this stuff slide.
Personally I like my Justices to have specific pornographic taste. Let’s me know they’re just regular people too. Mike Judge, apparently not the one of Beavis and Butthead/Office Space/ Silicon Valley fame, was the other guy in the room and is now a Hollywood Producer with many a published tail of drunken high school shenanigans. The press is having a field day. There needs to be a better or new analogy made because circus seems to under describe the situation by a large degree.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch... Trump announces tariffs on $200 billion of Chinese goods Trump orders Justice Dept to declassify select Russia-probe materials in further attempt to undermine investigation
She’s probably made ten times more in tv appearance fees in the last two years than she ever made taking a cock on camera. Since people will always gobble up lurid gossip she’s setting herself up for the long term.
It Trump ran the NFL it would get it’s ass kicked in the TV ratings to rivals such as the area football league and “Bowling For Dollars.”
The fact that she’s willing to put herself through possibly public hearings and potential FBI investigations makes me think her story is real. If there was nothing to it, she’d run and hide. Why subject herself to death threats like this? Remember how Franken’s accuser wanted nothing to do with hearings or investigations. She just wanted to smear him with the help of Sean Hannity and Roger Stone.
When did high school sexual assault become the FBI's jurisdiction to investigate? Especially when it happened "Sometime" and "I'm not sure where"?
My issue now is that it’s an obvious stall tactic. They came forward. People listened. They demanded to be heard. They got offered a hearing. Now they want the FBI to amend the background check on the incident before the hearing. While not an out of the question request, I see what they are trying to do. Does it suck? Yes. But at the end of the day, the GOP still behaved far worse by not even giving Obama’s nomination the time of day. Call it the consequences of not having the majority, but I still don’t think the dems are behaving as badly.
It doesnt, the FBI is overseen by the Justice Department. The Senate doesn't have the authority to dictate what should and should not be investigated, its a suggestion/request from Senate Democrats.
