I still can't tell if the WH just leaked a made up "Rosenstein is going to resign" to take heat off Kavanaugh with no intention of it going anywhere, or if they actually thought they could get him to resign just by claiming he was going to.
It's definitely designed to distract from the Kavanaugh news. There's been multiple stories already sent out confirming that this is exactly what Trump wanted to do. Now Trump and Rosenstein are supposedly going to meet in person on Thursday; coincidentally the same day that Kavanaugh and Ford are both scheduled to testify.
I'm not sure how they think people will just ignore two big stories on the same day... I mean, after all, Cohen and Manafort both happened on the same day.
Avenatti at it again, this time with a client who has claims against Kavanaugh So far everything he's said and done has been credible, so I have no reason to distrust him on this one. Sure is carving out a market for himself as the guy you go to if you wanna fuck with a politician who fucked you.
So apparently Kavanaugh was one of several of his classmates who basically slipped a reference to fucking a specific girl into their yearbook pages. Whatever you think of this particular behavior, the fact that he allowed his lawyer to insult our intelligence with this explanation alone should be disqualifying: I've seen first graders come up with more believable excuses than that.
Kavenaugh's roommate from Yale says he believes the second accuser. https://abc7news.com/politics/brett...mate-says-he-believes-second-accuser/4330055/ "It is from this experience that I concluded that although Brett was normally reserved, he was a notably heavy drinker, even by the standards of the time, and that he became aggressive and belligerent when he was very drunk. I did not observe the specific incident in question, but I do remember Brett frequently drinking excessively and becoming incoherently drunk."
Do they check under the beds and in the closets for Avenatti every night in the White House before they go to sleep?
Every single college male fits that description at 18-25. In my experience with heavy college drinking around FUCKING WHITE MALES, I would not be shocked if any single one of the people I had known had flashed their penis at any given point during the everclear fueled black out parties of the time. Now I will say there was a small subset of dudes that were known for exposing themselves when drunk. Sort of alcohol exhibitionist. Not, well he got drunk a lot and I could see it happening speculation, but ow yeah Ive seen his cock 3.7 times in the past few years.
Avenatti better deliver on this or he better never show his face again. I know he’s trying to time this release to happen just before the hearing on Thursday but if it falls through, you can pretty much guarantee that he gets confirmed. The whole thing will look like even more of a smear job. I think he did the shit he’s accused of, but Avenatti has alluded to some crazy, crazy shit. It better have happened.
Nah, it just counterpoints the GOP parading out all the women on the news saying, "he was a great guy who would never do this shit", and further speaks to the need for it to be investigated, not railroaded through. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/cnn-slammed-over-gop-women-135753587.html “CNN’s framing of this segment was really irresponsible. This purported to be a focus group that would show what ‘Republican women’ think of Kavanaugh now. So each woman is identified as a ‘Republican voter,'” he said. “But in fact, the two women who dominated the discussion are not average voters — they’re better described as GOP political operatives.” The guy's innocent until proven guilty, but that doesn't mean the allegations should be ignored. (Be honest, though... you're just upset that Cosby gets sentenced this week, aren't you?)
Why did you have to bring that up? I just hope that if he gets the death penalty, he picks Jello pudding as his last meal.
Except that’s the exact opposite of what is being called for in the #metoo era. On top of that since it’s not a criminal or civil proceeding people don’t want that standard applied anyway. It’s a hard pill to swallow that at some point any real change is going to have to deal with real world legal logistics of how you balance listening to all women and determining in a court of law if the accusations are true. Make no mistake this situation with Kavanaugh is pure political bullshittery and nothing else.
Yeah, but there's growing push back against it. And just because #metoo is going apeshit, doesn't mean it all has to. Sure, you have issues, but you can't just post that shit on social media, pull the pin on the grenade, and then disappear. Look at what's happening with Chris Hardwick... for example. Yes, bad shit happened, and yes, people have a right to have it addressed... I just think that if you're going to say some shit on Twitter, your first stop better have been the local police station.
Or before sending a confidential letter to a congresswoman. Part of #metoo, with any of these movements, is a desire for people to be a part of “it” rather than get actual justice, Hardwick being the prime example. Sure it started in an earnest way, but once the real monsters are slain people seem to make new ones to keep the momentum going.
