I like how there was a whole barfing club that apparently existed solely because young Brett had a weak stomach and vomited from time to time. I don't think he could make it any more clear that him and his friends were binge drinkers and he's now lying about it.
I want one of them to ask him about this picture of him waving a flag woven entirely of women's underwear. *edit* oh, and in regard to his answer on "boofing," Kavanaugh said it was in reference to farting. That's not accurate. Boofing is chugging alcohol via the butt.
I wonder if Nerdlinger is going to have to testify over the number of bra bombs he had to build for Kavanaugh.
Hmmm..... I wonder what that Devils Triangle game Kavanaugh referenced involves. Sounds like it could be a fun drinking game. ... Oh, wait.
It might make them look dumb. "A photograph that appeared in the Yale Daily News on Jan. 18, 1985, shows Kavanaugh’s fraternity brothers waving a flag woven from women’s underwear as part of a procession of DKE initiates marching across Yale’s campus. Kavanaugh does not appear in the photograph. "
Good catch. The way this creep keeps interrupting Senators to run out their time is making me very angry. Never mind that he's potentially a rapist -- the behavior he has displayed just today is in no way, shape, or form appropriate for a future Supreme Court Judge. And since this nation embarrassingly elected trump who was equally as creepy and child-like with his behavior, this means Kavanaugh will probably get his lifetime appointment in a landslide.
I'm pretty sure he's tired of being badgered about an FBI investigation and answering 27 different versions of "Have you ever blacked out?" This whole circus is a farce and it's become increasingly apparent that it's nothing more then a stall technique by the Dems. The fact that two people and their families have been utterly destroyed by it doesn't seem to make a bit of difference as long as they stall the confirmation. I have a feeling they're going to lose a lot of undecided/independent voters over this charade.
If you're innocent, you have nothing to hide. And every time they ask him about if he went to parties, if he drank, etc., he doesn't answer the question and instead talks about his academic record, his extracurriculars, being a good student. The two aren't mutually exclusive. The valedictorian of our class was also notorious for her "Coco Puff" habit (joints laced with cocaine). This shouldn't be a political thing. It's a human thing. It's about a victim doing what she felt what her was her civic duty to stand up, despite the emotional and financial damage to herself, her family, and friends. Instead the republicans are turning it into into some kind of political football they're trying to kick to the other side. It's disgusting, and I completely disagree with you that the disgusting performance by the GOP today will sway voters to their side.
I can't say whether he is guilty of sexual assault or not, but after that testimony I am more than comfortable saying he is massively not-credible any time he opens his mouth about his drinking or his character. If he wasn't about to be confirmed tomorrow it would be hilarious the alternative definitions he came up with for very well understood words and idioms.
Oh the magic of the internet: Chuck Todd tweets at Buster Olney asking when George Brett played LF Buster Olney tracks down a game in in 1982 in which George Brett played LF at Fenway Within 8 minutes another Twitter user had tracked down the correct game in 1990 (the year Kavanaugh graduated law school), that also matched Kavanaugh's statement that Clemens was pitching.
I found this article that has letters written by Mark Judge and his brother Michael Judge about the book that Mark Judge wrote. Kind of interesting. https://www.washingtonian.com/2018/09/17/mark-judge-michael-judge-brett-kavanaugh-memoir/
Interesting stance Kavanaugh had on polygraphs, specifically him taking one, considering he's made a previous ruling that goes against what he just said: https://abovethelaw.com/2018/09/rem...phs-are-important-in-making-hiring-decisions/ Most notably in Sack v. U.S. Dept. of Defense, 823 F.3d 687 (2016), a case about FOIA fees, Judge Kavanaugh waxed philosophic about the value of polygraphs in making hiring decisions: As the Government notes, law enforcement agencies use polygraphs to test the credibility of witnesses and criminal defendants. Those agencies also use polygraphs to “screen applicants for security clearances so that they may be deemed suitable for work in critical law enforcement, defense, and intelligence collection roles.” Declaration of Alesia Y. Williams, Defense Intelligence Agency, Chief of FOIA Services Section, at Joint Appendix 226. In Morley v. CIA, we stated: “Background investigations conducted to assess an applicant’s qualification, such as … clearance and investigatory processes, inherently relate to law enforcement.” 508 F.3d 1108, 1128–29 (D.C.Cir.2007) (internal quotation marks omitted). The Government has satisfactorily explained how polygraph examinations serve law enforcement purposes. This served as the preamble to finding that law enforcement reports detailing the shortcomings of polygraphs must be shielded from disclosure lest it undermine public confidence in polygraph accuracy."
Kavanaugh: I find polygraphs to be an incredibly useful and accurate tool Narrator: The woman accusing you of sexual assault passed her polygraph Kavanaugh: Spoiler
I missed most of the hearing because I was at work. I really couldn't care less about how much he drank in college. I was drunk off my ass 3 nights a week. Marketing, not the hardest major, if you didn't know. But not wanting to a take polygraph, and apparently not being so into an FBI investigation either? So, Grassley quoted Biden on this - “The next person who refers to an FBI report as being worth anything obviously doesn’t understand anything. The FBI explicitly does not in this or any other case reach a conclusion. Period,” Grassley read. “They say he said, she said, and they said, period. So when people wave an FBI report before you, understand they do not, they do not, they do not reach conclusions. They do not make recommendations.” But the FBI isn't a court. It's not their position to make a ruling, or get involved into partisanship with the direction a senatorial committee should take. Kavanaugh has been a judge for over a decade so he knows that some accusations don't even get investigated, and claiming that the committee's 10 day investigation is sufficient looked really bad. It's hard on your family? Ok, but you're a judge, and like most judges if a case is only ten days into an investigation you're not ready to make a ruling, you keep the books open. At best he's a major pussy who thinks his suffering (10 days!) in enduring a smear campaign is more important than not giving a huge fuck you to rape/sexual assault victims who didn't get justice. I have to hand it to this freak show, it never stops delivering. Doesn't look like Ford had much in the way of evidence to provide, and sans that the last thing I would have expected would have been from the testimony of a judge, who has spent his entire career examining witnesses, evaluating, and watching juries react to testimonies to fuck himself so hard on such an easy question.
I found his demeanor at the hearing today to be highly unprofessional. It made me really uncomfortable how flippant and rude he was. Especially to Klobuchar about the alcohol stuff. He apologized after but still. He probably would have won more points with Collins and Murkowski if behaved more sympathetically. Graham’s explosion was absolutely insane. At no point did any of them refute the accusation. They just shat on Feinstein the whole time. I get that the whole situation is highly politicized. But after Ford’s testimony this morning, Kavanaugh’s approach was ridiculous.
The FBI investigates Clinton.... GOP: SEND HER TO JAIL!!!!! The FBI could potentially investigate Kavanaugh.... GOP: FBI INVESTIGATIONS MEAN NOTHING!!!
