Where can I buy the 4-part DVD box set of Susan Collins' speech? Jesus Christ is this long-winded.

What is it with Republicans giving long winded speeches where they try to convince you that them doing exactly what all the other Republicans are doing for exactly the same reasons is really some unique stance they're taking? Sasse did the same thing earlier this week.

Christ. After she started, I ate a 7 course meal, took a nice nap, and watched the Lord of the Rings Trilogy on Blu-Ray and she still wasn’t done when I finished.

Yep. No doubt Trump's roving death squads are going to be turned loose any time now.

    Everyone voted party line except:

Manchin (D - West Virginia) voted to confirm, although he had earlier said that he would not be the "deciding" vote, so he would have voted "no" if one more Republican had voted against the nomination.

Daines (R - Montana) did not vote due to attending his daughter's wedding.

Murkowski (R - Alaska) withdrew her declared "no" vote so that Daines could attend his daughter's wedding instead of being required in DC as the deciding vote (on the assumption that a no from Murkowski would have caused Manchin to flip).

I didn’t even know vote pairing was a thing, but I guess it’s a rare, but accepted custom. At least there was some shred of humanity between both people.

So does trying to destroy a person's reputation and life with unsubstantiated claims of horrible behavior. A whole bunch of independent voters likely just moved to the right over this bullshit.

The only folks cheering the whole #resist thing are already hard core Democrats, I have a feeling most folks not allied to either party saw through the charade and are tired of the protests, the hyperbole, the violence, and the general bullshit the left has employed lately.

Oh sure... let's just ignore multiple, credible witnesses, turn a blind eye, and push the guy through to a lifetime appointment on the highest court in the country.

Seems like the only reasonable course of action.

Unlike, you know... investigating shit and delaying it until such time as that investigation is done.

Or, you know, you could always ramrod through a bullshit investigation over a few days where the FBI scope was so restricted that they weren't even allowed to talk to Kavanaugh or Ford, nor take statements from people that have come out willing to testify about how Kavanaugh purgered himself under oath with his statements. Or that he's now being investigated for ethics violations due to his inappropriate behaviour as a judge (due to him making inappropriate partisan comments, like he did in his prepared statement).

Despite the fact that every group that was used by the GOP as a character reference for him has come out and said, "nope, we're not endorsing him... investigate him".

Never mind that Dr. Ford calmly answered every question put in front of her, live, in front of the world, while Kavanaugh refused to answer many questions. And thousands of pages of his history were redacted from the whole process.

But sure... it's probably Hillary doing this shit. And the emails. And those crazy crackpots just out to ruin his life. Those fucking Democrats!

And let's not forget that Trump is an un-indicted co-conspirator to a guy who plead guilty to felonies for ties to foreign countries that are against the US. You know that UN bullshit everyone keeps complaining that nobody but the US is paying enough for? The one that was formed due to the threat that the Russians posed? Those same Russians that have crazy ties to the GOP and Trump? The same Russian ties that are the focus of a "witch hunt"?

Yeah... everyone just must be rushing to vote that way.

I guess we'll know in a month won't we? Maybe I'm wrong and we'll have a blue wave straight into Socialism. That would be fun.

Seriously...has there been any corroborating evidence that Kavanaugh assaulted anyone? Yes, there have been accusations, but has there been anything solid? There's been something like 5 accusations, none corroborated, and all by folks that seem to be on the left. Somehow all of them have had their social media deleted.

From my viewpoint, the whole thing was a smear job. #resist and all that shit.

As far as the Russia stuff....why haven't they found anything yet? I'm so fatigued by everything to do with politics...Russians, gang rapists, and the endless parade of baseless allegations.

How do you define ‘corroborating’? Because a lot of people are using the word, but not correctly. All of the public accusations have been corroborated. Just not in the way people think or want. They want “corroborating” to mean “eye witness”. It just means that the statements and evidence are supported.
