You have to think that for Trump, shit just got real. This is no longer an ego-fuelled media blitz, he's in the fucking Oval Office. He has to be somewhat intimidated by that. That HAS to sink in at some level, even with his reptilian brain. It's been a long-standing tradition for the outgoing President to write a welcoming note to the incoming... I would love to see what Obama writes for him.
Nah, he'd never write that down... he'd whisper it into his ear as he was leaving... that way no proof, and Trump would never get to be right in public.
Does anyone think Trump is going to try to prosecute Hillary? I don't know whether I want him to or not. On the one hand it sets a bad precedent to pursue, on the other it sets a bad precedent to keep letting people get away with it because of the power they have amassed. Overall, I'm hoping he lets it go so this country can take the long road to cleaning up this mess. As satisfying as it would be to see her rot in prison it's too divisive of a distraction.
This is pretty good. I thought all of the speeches were classy. I was hoping, mainly Barack, would have emphasized hope and optimism more. Something you can tell people need right now. I haven't seen so many people despondent since 9/11. Colbert is right we need to decompress from this election and focus on our lives more. I hope to god we can eventually come together with more mutual respect for each other.
I think it's a safe bet he'll let it go. He is, after all, the patron saint of letting things go: http://people.com/celebrity/donald-trump-sends-vanity-fair-editor-photos-of-his-hands/
There is a lot of really nasty salt flowing right now of which the likes I have never seen in my life. I admire your hope, and I hope for the same. But unfortunately we live in a time where people don't just refuse to admit when they're wrong, we live in a world where people refuse to admit that they LOST. What this election has showed me is the wide line in the sand between liberals and libtards. Because the latter are strictly the ones shooting their tantrums like a hot load all over social media right now. Simply refusing to accept the how's and why's of what happened. What The fuck Did you expect? You took a man selling out STADIUMS to hear him talk over a corporate stooge who was having trouble filling a gymnasium. But it was more Progressive to front the woman even though she's basically unlikeable and had a quarter-century paper trail of horseshit. You only needed your eyes to see what the voters wanted and the DNC cheated them of that because it was about what THEY wanted and not the people. So the people decided they weren't going to be tamed by the shrew and instead voted for the "straight talker" out of spite even though he's just yet another lucky sperm contest winner. Cue your one million-pound shitburger. Start eating. Consider how pissed off the DNC made their own supporters: they turned to Donald Trump instead of having their generation's hero, Bill Clinton, back at the White House. It's not Trump that Americans need to worry about. It's the slimy, cold, unblinking reptilian evil of his Number One. What you should really be worried about is how far he gets his arm up Trump's ass in the next four years. Because if he does you can start watching your separation of church and state slowly crumble.
He's an egomaniac and I'm hoping he's more crazy than the legislators in this country can handle. The democrats are going to have to spend the next 2-4 years slowly rebuilding. They need to put some honor and integrity back into the party. If Trump is even a fraction as bad as some people think they'll have to take the offices back and unfuck it.
After being in class today, and during that class there was a discussion about the election people are seriously fearful of what has happened, particularly women. What I gather about this result is that people more against Hilarly than for Trump. In my mind thats what it came down to, a vote against Clinton. I hope people will start advocating for parties they support rather than voting against parties they don't. In my mind this vote was based mostly on who people hate more. We should be voting for someone that people support and believe in. This will change if people become active in simple ways. I hope people will become more politically active because of this, the consequences of inaction have been witnessed and will be felt. I have my doubts. The democrats fucked up again. GW was an easy pickoff in his re-election bid, and they fucked up with Kerry. Trump was an easy defeat and they fucked that up again. What that says I really don't care but history will show that the democrats had chance to dominate the American presidency but fucked it up. I'm kind of thinking Netflix will have a surge of daily users. I know I can't stand to watch the news and am resorting to the NHL network and Amazon Prime.
Obama has so much class and that's why even though some of his ideas suck I think he'll be remembered as a good president. He tried his best to hold this country together, but the problems run so much deeper than anything one person can fix.
Was his account hacked, or does your President Elect actually not know who his largest trading partner is? My guessing purpose of this wall is to prevent a mass exodus of attention-whoring celebrities and SJWs. We'll take Cranston. The rest of you can fuck off. Before you ask, no, I don't know of anybody stupid enough to want to ride a bull moose.
The correct move, in my opinion, would have been to stay completely out of the investigation and prosecution, let the FBI conclude its work without interference, and essentially trust the American institutions to do their job. Unfortunately the FBI has been fatally compromised in the eyes of the public (one way or another) and that's no longer an option. I think his best move at this point is to just let it go. Clinton is done; this election broke her. There is nothing to be gained by jailing her at this point.
I really wonder if it bothers her just how much people hate her that they voted trump in instead. My guess is no. The two least popular candidates in American history, I shouldn't be surprised this happened.
This is going to be the funniest 4 years in American history as long as it doesn't get too violent. Bush gave good material to SNL, Trump has already one upped him. Agreed. She's a sociopath.
He'll probably let it go, because he isn't going to be a man of his word. I don't think Trump will do a lot of bad things. I just think that many things won't get done. But hey, kudos to California, Nevada, Maine, and MassiveTwoHits (ha!) for legalizing pot. Like, ACTUALLY legalizing. Recreational use, the dream. Wonder how that will effect Vegas. And speaking of Cali, did you guys see this? Talk about salt...
I'm ok with that. I don't want to ban Muslims and to build a prison like wall between us and Mexico. I'm hoping he doesn't sexually assault Angela Merkel
There's an element of salt, but there's also the fact that despite earning a full half of the votes cast this election, the blue states, and especially California, are bankrolling a Federal Government that they have effectively *zero* representation in. That state of affairs can't go on indefinitely.
