All the opposition would need to do is just play the gif him drinking water in the Senate hearing on loop.

Just in case anyone was curious what an alien trying to imitate a human being looks like.

Robert Shaw did a great job of describing his eyes in “Jaws”.

I can see the debate now-

“Mr Zuckerberg, you’ve attended an Ivy League school and stole an idea that led to FB. What qualifications do you have running for President”

    Zuck- “Dollar dollar bills, y’all”

In the director’s cut of “The Six Sense” there’s a scene where his credibility walks by the camera.

So he pissed Trump off for months and we don't have to deal with him trying to crash 2020? What a wonderful day for Democracy.

Yeah... I'm not sure why people seemed to think that just because I was hugely entertained by the way he manhandled Trump that somehow meant that I think the guy is a Saint and should run for office.

    Wait... people think that?

Someone can be entertaining to you, but you don't have to agree with them. Or you can agree with some stuff but not everything. Or -- like how I look at trump -- you can be entertained by someone and still think they're the spawn of satan.

Virtue signaling has gotten out of control. Not sure if anyone reading this thread follows the NFL, but it's like how the Redskins claimed Reuben Foster (him of domestic abuse infamy) off waivers: you are allowed to recognize that he's a great football player and valuable to a team, while also disliking him as a person.

The democrat problem is they like personality over substance. This one just happened to be the democrat version of Trump. I’d like nothing more than for him to go away already. He’s just an attention whore.

    Pst..... Beto 2020.

The average American doesn't care for the nuances of policy though, I don't think. The younger generation is very into it, but I really do wish that the ability to vote was something you had to re-new every few years like you do your driver's license. You're 85, don't feel comfortable driving above 40 mph, and can't walk a straight line even if you took all 14 of your morning vitamins? Ok, no driving for you. You don't know anything about the canddiates, are going to vote straight ticket because that's what you've done for for the past 5 decades, and the only thing you know about the guy you're gonna vote for is that he's a "good christian boy?" Ok, take a term off, see you again in 4 years and we'll revisit this whole "voting" concept.

Beto is very popular outside of Texas. He’s also not the worst choice in the world. There’s also very little to attack him about. Personally, I’d like to see a boring highly qualified person run. But boring doesn’t fly anymore.

I can't stand the fact that every single time he talks about guns, and the 2nd Amendment, he sounds like someone who has never even seen a firearm in person and has been trapped in a bernie sanders-like echo chamber. It would be like me advising on how to prepare traditional Thai cuisine, despite my wife hating any food that's remotely oriental in nature and thus my experience with it being limited to cheap delivery dishes during law school all-nighters.

Regardless, even though that's one of the main issues I vote on, he's a really smart dude. And I like that he ran his entire campaign off private donations. If a girl has a flat ass, focus on her tits.

He’d be great. Maybe Schiff even. Super qualified, non controversial.

I tell ya what...he wouldn’t touch guns if he got into office. None of them want to. There’s passionate gun owners on both sides. He would push for stronger regulation and enforcement, but you wouldn’t keep everything you want and get anything you want.

I like Schiff but he's only a Congressman and he doesn't have a ton of years there either. I'd like to see him lead the House Intel committee for a while, then either take Feinstein's seat when she retires, or take a term or two at CA Governor after Newsome's inevitable sex scandal, before he runs for the big chair.

Could you see Flake switching sides?

Or at the least, running against Trump?

If Flake wants to run as a conservative spoiler just to spite Trump I'm all for it, but he's a conservative to his bones and he won't be good on issues like climate change, abortion, gay rights, etc so I don't want him as the candidate I hope and expect to win.

Maybe I'm just being overly optimistic, or maybe just plain wrong, but I imagine there's going to be quite a few people running as potential spoilers against trump.

The entertainment value of seeing him having to go through serious debates again is going to be off the charts.
