Never mind when you put it all into context of how he handled Enron... he was fucking ruthless. So for him to show "leniency" around this, now? I really, REALLY want to know what he's got.
That's what I just told my sister in law. She's a hard core liberal and is all pissed that trump hasn't been impeached yet and yada yada yada, and I told her just wait: trump has two years left (he won't get another term). And the fun just started. If you thought his tweeting was crazy before, it's about to go off the charts. The dude is gonna be in a literal hell for the next two years. It's gonna be hilarious. Mueller is literally taking down the trump house brick by brick, and yet the idiot thinks he can still build a wall around the place.
Imagine if he just died because of the stress. Sure, we can talk about Pence and his involvement and the chain of succession... but longer term, what does the GOP do without Trump and his base? Because they are not their base, they are his base.
What will happen is that some people will believe until the day they die that this was a political hit job and completely untrue. Others will say that they always knew he was a piece of shit and that’s why they voted for him. Even if they called the Mueller thing all bullshit. That Trump being brought down was actually good for the country because now we can all come together. Even the ones that did nothing but call us libtards and troll us. Their entire basis of thought is trying to make liberals angry. A lot of GOP Trump apologists will try to distance themselves from him and act like they never really were in his camp. And it will all be bullshit. The damage done to our political norms will take a long time to heal. Regaining the trust of our international allies will need some serious TLC. But hey, they owned the libs. The GOP is going to need to re-evaluate their culture going forward and maybe even form a new party without all the retarded sycophants.
I promise you, the narrative will be that his blatant self-serving was really the means for corrupt Washington to out itself, like now we have definite proof of what scumbags inhabit the DC swamp. He did it all for us!
Also, unless we're really about to burn the village in order to save it, the real damage to the country has already been done: Trump's judicial appointments. That will literally take a lifetime to fix.
I'm shocked it hasn't happened already. The job alone prematurely ages all who inhabit it, (and even before they died look what it did to Lincoln and Roosevelt especially due to the wars they led us through), and Trump seems to have no stress mediation abilities at all. Add on his age and his weight and his heart is a god damn miracle worker just for getting this far.
I guess when you're a narcissist and nothing's ever your fault you never actually *feel* the stress of responsibility. The job won't age him at all, only the negative feedback.
That's what I was thinking. He won't feel that any of this mueller stuff is actually true, but once his own party turns on him (like they did over the journalist who was killed) he's gonna go apeshit. Figures that a reality show star is turning the White House into an actual reality show. I'm actually surprised CNN hasn't brought on Andy Cohen as a reporter.
Here's the reddit megathread on the Cohen memo Too many interesting things in it to mention in a post on here. The megathread includes links to everything.
The biggest takeaway, for me, is this: Just to make it crystal clear, New York federal prosecutors concluded that the President of the United States committed a felony. Think about that. A federal fucking prosecutor put it out there, officially, that POTUS committed a felony. I'm not sure most people really, truly, comprehend just how big of a fucking deal that is. Merry Fucking Christmas.
The fun thing is just how fucking good Mueller is at his job. He knew Manafort was lying the whole time, even during plea negotiations. He knew Manafort was talking to the White House trying to get their stories straight. They wanted to get Trump to sit down and answer questions, but he refused. They offered a take home test, which was a huge trap that Trump and his terrible lawyers thought was gonna be cake. Mueller let them both coordinate their answers. Trump turned in his exam with the same bullshit answers Manafort gave. Bye bye plea deal.
Did Trump really think Mueller wouldn’t find anything? Did they think he would be lenient? He used the scummy Enron chief officers’ fucking WIVES against them to give them decades in prison. In a country where the rich don’t go to jail. Watergate 2 just might happen right here.
Guys, this isn't even Mueller's dirt yet. This is just what the Southern District of New York has on him. They, by themselves, have him on at least one felony. Mueller is still coming.
Not to take away from everything else going on, but what look got signed at midnight. I'm sure this has nothing to do with his friend Epstein. Copied from reddit thread: "S.2152 - Amy, Vicky, and Andy Child Pornography Victim Assistance Act of 2018." It wasn't a new law, but a revision of one that already existed. Among other things, the revisions allow evidence to be redacted to protect the privacy of third parties and puts a cap on the amount the court can fine a perpetrator. Here's the actual text of S.2152: https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/senate-bill/2152/text
The charge by itself is sufficient grounds for impeachment. Not so different than the charges that got Corrine Brown sentenced to prison last year. It's not very likely the Trump presidency is going to make it through 2019. The Mueller probe may end up being far more important than this felony, but he's already all but toast.
I was thinking about this today.... at this point I'm not actually sure I want trump impeached, unless pence also has to step down. I'd much rather all this stuff come out and trump is basically rendered powerless, his own party undermines him at every turn, and the house and the senate basically run things until 2020 when someone new replaces him from either side and the trials start. Either way though, since I don't know much on the specifics of this: might trump potentially be looking at jail time once his presidency is over?
