The crimes of tax evasion and campaign violation felonies alone carry substantial prison sentences. If the Mueller probe determines treason, you're talking solitary confinement.

There's never been a president convicted of crimes like the above, but other politicians have gone to prison for similar crimes and if the sentencing goes before a judge it's almost hard to imagine he wouldn't be doing prison time. I don't know how fast the process will move, but once the indictments roll out even the republican congressmen kind of have to vote for impeachment. To not do it would be like sticking your dick in aids. *But I think the democrat congressman want all of it. They don't want to rush him out with just the campaign violation felony. So yeah, I suppose that could play into the time frame as well.

Just talking about the campaign violation again though; they already have intent, a witness, and the money trail. That's exactly what they need for a conviction. Based solely on that I don't think he's going to make it to 2020 without being impeached, but this whole area is so uncharted so who knows...

The more I think about it, the more I think I would be fine with Pence filling out the remainder of Trump's term. Not because I want him as president. Moreso, I want him and his actions front and center for the remainder of the term. I want people to see what he's doing/trying to do and take appropriate action.

He's been way too quiet and behind the scenes for my liking. And unlike a lot of vice presidents, I feel like he has a far more active role than most.

Wouldn't a jailed former president be looking at solitary anyway?

Or would secret service protection continue when he's behind bars?

Pence, by some accounts, is compromised.

My question regarding trump is two fold...
First he’s a flight risk. Absolutely.
    How do we stop that?
Second? How do we stop him from yammering national security information and compromising our intelligence community?

Where can he go? Who would take him? I also don't believe his psychology allows him to flee like that. He gotten ahold of something he won't let go of willingly.

We can't. By most accounts he already has just by sheer dumbfuckery. I expect we'll find out when we're very old and grey the lengths the various intelligence communities went to to insulate themselves from him when he was elected. They knew what was coming. We already have that story where US Intelligence officials warned Mossad not to share sensitive information with Trump. I'm guessing there was a lot of that sort of thing done.

Since he doesn't read, we can just give him any sensitive intelligence in writing.

Yes, but it's never carried out anymore. If Aldrich Ames and Robert Hanssen didn't get the death penalty a former president won't.

Even if it was, wouldn't a live imprisonment for a narcissist be the worst possible fate?

Then again, since trump eats his burnt steaks with ketchup, maybe he'll take a liking to jail food

You know how you guys usually have a Presidential Library as a tribute to a past POTUS?

How about starting up a new tradition... a Presidential Penitentiary. Complete with a special wing for the Executive Branch.

If all of this Russian collusion stuff turns out to be true, what will the ramifications be for them?
Would we impose sanctions? Go to war? Write obscene bathroom graffiti about them?

No physical military war. Crippling sanctions to try to affect a regime change. Russia isn’t a real country. They are run by an organized crime syndicate and the people there don’t have real rights. Gutting the oligarchy should be a major priority and we should try and seize or freeze their assets.

The problem with over sanctioning a country is it can lead them to commits acts of war and do crazy shit to innocents in the region as a sort of hostage type deal.

There’s no good answer aside from rehabbing this country and trying to get the people to regain their faith in it’s institutions.

Let's just build a small building in Queens that only houses a copy of the Mueller Report on a golden pedestal.

I don't know if anyone has been keeping up with the riots in France, but here's a good primer.

There's a lot of violence on both sides, the protesters and the police. And to think that the worst of it is happening directly on the Champs Elysee, that would be like people rioting and police spraying tear gas and rubber bullets on Pennsylvania Ave.

Except gas is already about that expensive, and the tax is only a couple of cents. The protest is more about wealth in equality and the perception that the government is exacerbating it by catering to the rich. The gas tax is just symbolic of the "rich get tax breaks, poor and middle class get new taxes."
