You can admit that you just plain think Trump is worse and you disagree, but that's too hard for you too, huh. I have to vote on what I see happening in my life and in this country. You don't like it, too bad. I don't give a fuck.
The republicans took the 4th amendment. Obama let them keep it and expanded the problem while pretending it was just an inconvenience. Take any one of my 'theories' however you want. Hillary was breaking so many other rules in the constitution that are not in ambiguous language, I had to stop. If I'm wrong about any of my 'theories' there are enough I'm right about to make me reach the breaking point. Trump might be an evil son of a bitch. I don't totally know what he is, but I'm sick of everything that is going wrong with this country.
I honestly can't tell if you're just ignoring the questions or not reading them, but either way it's a shame because as the most passionate supporter that I "know" of that whole concept yours were the answers I was most curious about.
Audrey - In response to your questions: Our country is living on borrowed time. We are $20 trillion dollars in debt, we collect record levels of taxes annually and still run a $500 billion dollar budget deficit. We don't make anything here anymore - we are a service and idea-based economy. That only lasts until the top 1% and industrialized economies siphon off all of the wealth. Once people stop financing this debt our currency will collapse along with it the entire Government. Look at what is going on in Venezuela for an idea of what a total breakdown in services looks like. At that point those who can leave will and the rest of us will be stuck. Life will be very bad. You won't die but you will suffer compared to the standards you are used to. This problem doesn't care about race, sexuality or political affiliation. It is also this problem which if we don't solve, we won't have to concern ourselves with race, sexuality or political affiliation. So, there was a quote from The Wire; Pryzbylewski said "No one wins. one side just loses more slowly". Every time I ponder how we fix the problems we have, what a society would look like that could solve this, I am reminded of this quote. If you understand this problem you understand that things need to change but as you have asked how do you change them? What does that change look like? You can't convince people that it is a good idea to vote for a third party. You can't convince people that there is another way, other than Liberal or Conservative. So, we are left with a situation where we can't force either party to address this problem and quite honestly, this is why I think of the quote; I don't think we can solve it. We all lose eventually.
I will be as blunt as I can be. You don't care about anyone unless they are on your team. As soon as they aren't on your team they can go fuck themselves, straight up. People like you are starting to show up everywhere on both sides, and I'm sick of the psychosis. I don't know you. I'm not going to judge you off internet posts, but I'm seeing people like you act in my real life and it is happening in the media nonstop. If life is good for you and you were willing to make the sacrifices to your conscience on someone like Hillary because 'you know so much about how the world works' or you're so crazy you don't think anything she was doing was actually wrong, people like me have to pull out. It's not about who won because Trump was so bad too. It was watching this whole election and shaking my head at the nonstop anger, and then becoming an angrier person myself because every day that's how everyone else acts. This is a hateful country and I can't stand the hypocrisy on both sides. It gets worse every year. Your whole post I responded to was painting a significant portion of the country as something they're not.
I've answered it 50 times. You just don't like reading the answers. Was that my first post on why I chose Trump?
The only one who has a chance to change the system is someone like Trump or Mark Cuban. I've looked at the system and no longer believe someone inside it can change it so I took a gamble. Bernie got fucked. Obama is a liar, or a weak leader, or both. I don't care which. I'm at the point where I can live with being wrong about him, no matter how bad he might be.
But your (and I mean collective 'your') little 'fuck you' to the system is going to cost all of us. Great, you (again collective) had your big moment, but now here's the problem. You said your piece and now we're all stuck with this guy. And you know what? You (again collective) merely endorsed the same exact policies that you were railing against. It's unbelievable, and I mean that. Because it's not only Trump, but the people around him. Now we can see tax cuts and increased defense spending and entitlement cuts and social policies that we have been doing for 40 years. So the whole 'shock to the system' is exactly NOT that. You (again collective) in your zeal to say 'fuck you the system sucks' have merely put your imprimatur upon the very system you allegedly despise. Well done. So for me, whom actually wants real change, the best case scenario for the next four years is gridlock. That's the best outcome. That sucks. I've said it before, I'll say it again. Americans don't get the President they need, they get the one they deserve. And you know what, I think we deserve this asshole, because all of us let this happen. Time to take our medicine I suppose.
This is a very insightful post. There is plenty of blame to go around on both sides. The point you make is something Ive been thinking about for some time. This sort of immediate labeling and writing off of people is not going to help in the long run and has at least some part in the current mess we're in. Not trying to be snarky or snide but I can't imagine how the left did not have any self awareness that this all encompassing judgemental behavior would lead to very serious consequences. Particularly because the left has been fighting this exact behavior for decades when it is focused on minority groups. The disaffected, demoralizing reaction minorities have when they are lumped in groups and written off is one of the main reasons they fought so hard to overcome it. The most common response to my point is usually, "well they're white and have benefited from their white privilege for long enoug screw them." Kind of ignoring the reality that they are human too and are going to have a negative reaction to the stimulus of a negative behavior. Rationalizing that holding some political position is a choice and being a minority is not does not change the consequences of treating people like this. Im just urging a bit of self reflection. I know the right has its issues with being unbendable in their positions as well. A nuanced approach seems near impossible reading this thread.
Yeah, I did it just like millions of other Americans who are so frustrated with the government we were willing to let Donald Trump happen. My head is still filled with the drama of the most fucked up election since the southern secession. Maybe we made the wrong choice, but we decided to risk it. We'll see what happens. Donald Trump gave the republicans everything they claim they want, other than his throbbing cock. Let's see how he does.
But that's just what I don't get, he actively is responsible for the shipping off of jobs to other countries. This is not theoretical. He did it. And I agree with you, Hillary hasn't been good on this issue, but she changed her stance because of Bernie. And I couldn't agree more. This is why I'm not a liberal. I don't like thought policing, and the Democrats need to learn that lesson. I am dearly hoping for the destruction of both parties. Ultimately, party politics more than anything else is how we ended up where we're at, which I think we all agree is not a good place. While I'm critical of your decision, ultimately, you did what you thought best. I respect that. I also don't disagree that a change was necessary. I just don't think this guy can deliver and I'm concerned about how crazy both the left and right will be in four years when it's more of the same. Trump will look tame compared to what's coming.
I'm not disagreeing, please understand, I just find it fascinating from a political scientist standpoint that people voted for exactly the type of guy that they were against. And I mean this: it's fascinating and shocking.
Just dropping this here, and then fleeing the thread. I favored Bernie as the best human running, and statements like this remind us of his basic sense of honor: Sen. Bernie Sanders on Wednesday signaled a willingness to work with Donald Trump on certain policies. "To the degree that Mr. Trump is serious about pursuing policies that improve the lives of working families in this country, I and other progressives are prepared to work with him," the Vermont senator said in a statement released Wednesday. "To the degree that he pursues racist, sexist, xenophobic and anti-environment policies, we will vigorously oppose him."
Trump would be smart to let Sanders have his ear. Nothing says putting your country first like taking the other team seriously. In other news....I just.....you be the judge: Every vote counts, right? Not photoshopped. And these people wonder at the same time why everything is fucked up.
So he's being a rational politician that's willing to compromise for the betterment of not just his own beliefs, but those of all people. What's most sad is that he's seemingly the only single person out of 535 members of congress that acts that way.
So you're concerned about civil rights and you vote for a guy who is now floating the names of Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Sheriff David Clarke to lead the Department of Homeland Security? Here is a great example from the latter that is prescient. Sounds like he has a real good handle on what is in that warning label of his in regard to protests.
