This made me laugh because she only ever comes up because someone is crying about Trump voters... again.

You're right. She would come up every ten goddamn minutes if that were the case.

I'll make you a deal: you stop being the first to bring up Hillary, and start using facts, reputable sources and genuine points, and I'll watch Fox News at the gym for the hour I'm doing cardio to see what the other side is talking about....besides Tucker Carlson sounds like the name of some frat boys I drank with back in the day.

    Focus:
    https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/20...ious-underwhelming-crowd-tulsa-rally-n1231674

"While the Trump re-election effort boasted that it would fill BOK Center, which seats more than 19,000 people, only 6,200 supporters ultimately occupied the general admission sections, the Tulsa fire marshal told NBC News.
The campaign was so confident about a high turnout that it set up an overflow area, which it had expected to attract thousands. But the plan was scrapped at the last minute when only dozens gathered at the time the vice president and the president were set to address the crowd inside."

    https://www.politico.com/news/2020/06/21/trump-tulsa-rally-ticket-hack-332140

"President Donald Trump’s campaign manager, Brad Parscale, on Sunday denied that anti-Trump organizers on social media were to blame for the lower-than-expected rally turnout on Saturday in Tulsa, Okla. “Leftists and online trolls doing a victory lap, thinking they somehow impacted rally attendance, don’t know what they’re talking about or how our rallies work,” Parscale said in a statement. The fact is that a week’s worth of the fake news media warning people away from the rally because of COVID and protesters, coupled with recent images of American cities on fire, had a real impact on people bringing their families and children to the rally,” Parscale said. Oklahoma public health officials strongly warned against holding a rally with crowds in an indoor space as coronavirus cases continue to rise in the state. Ultimately, the Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled in favor of the rally taking place after dismissing a lawsuit that said social distancing and mask-wearing should be required. Neither masks nor social distancing, both of them recommended by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, could be seen prominently at the rally Saturday."

The Oklahoma public health system and the CDC are "fake news media", and roughly 175 protesters are enough to deter "thousands" of Trump supporters from attending a rally and 6200 was the target all along? Christ, this has " No one came to Eric Cartman's birthday party and he blames it on everything but him being an asshole" written all over it.

I actually think Pascale isn't full of shit: they should have enough data to separate trolling K-pop fans from Tulsa Trumpers. However, that means they could only get 6200 people to show up and badly misread that data.

    https://www.politico.com/news/2020/06/20/trump-rally-tulsa-coronavirus-reset-2020-campaign-330248

    Couple thoughts:
    1. Had me duped. If you had to bet on how many arrests would happen at this rally, I doubt many of us would have taken "1" and that one for trespassing.
    2. Parscale is a dead man walking, right? From the NBC article: "Much of the blame is falling on campaign manager Brad Parscale, who in the days leading up the event aggressively touted the number of registrations, but those close to him stress that his job is safe, for now." Sounds like the Trump team kiss of death.
    3. When/where is the next rally? These were such a fixture of Trump's operation pre-COVID, that I can't imagine he's willing to abandon them entirely. So, where do they go from here?
    4. The lack of COVID countermeasures isn't a good sign for these events being repeatable:

"The nation’s largest indoor gathering in three months was a rejection of the Trump administration’s own warnings about public events. Six members of the campaign's advance team who worked to set up the rally tested positive for Covid-19 and have been forced to quarantine."...."The Trump campaign sent mixed messages about whether the rally would be safe for attendees. The president told reporters this week that “everybody is going to be safe” while the registration for tickets came with an acknowledgment that “any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19,” and couldn’t hold the campaign or the center liable. Though the campaign handed out masks and hand sanitizer, the vast majority of attendees opted not to wear face coverings."

The swing states Trump has to win likely won't roll out a special Supreme Court ruling for a rally without the social distancing and mask requirements, especially if they are seeing cases spike and the Trump team itself testing positive. So, he's kind of painted into a corner here: he can't hold many rallies without the countermeasures, he needs the rallies to drum up support and he can't afford the backlash of wearing a mask in public (remember the "liberate" tweets where he made mask requirements sound like an infringement of personal liberty?). I can imagine a lot of cities want to avoid the quagmire of enforcing those countermeasures on Trump rally attendees and his team, and much like Eric Trump trying to get a reservation in a DC restaurant, he will be politely refused or redirected somewhere the fuck else.

I wonder if that's why, of all places, he started with Tulsa, OK?

Ugh, ok dude... my bad for bringing up Hillary again. I was just trying to say you can't look at how Trump happened without factoring in it was an election of historically bad candidates. That's it. You might disagree with that assessment, but I think that's how most Americans viewed their choices, regardless of whether they ultimately got it right, or wrong. There, now go ahead and put some big fat nails in that coffin.

But with that out of the way I don't really disagree with anything else you're saying. He has been a terrible president, and what damage was mitigated was mostly because he was either too incompetent or too confused to do much of anything.

I was thinking about this earlier -- might that Charlotte tiki torch thing have been an early part of the boogaloo movement? I know they wear Hawaiian shirts because boogaloo = big luau play on words, which = Hawaiian meme, because everything is a fucking meme nowadays. So the tiki torches would be in keeping with that theme.

    Same people different logo.

As regular people figure with what the code word is for the 1488 crowd they keep picking new symbols. From Pepe the Frog to the OK sysmbol, to Proud Boys to All lives matter.

wait is saying "all lives matter" really part of that now?

I've always thought the "black lives matter" thing was kinda a bullshit slogan. I get the thinking that "no lives matter until black lives matter," but what about hispanics? What about indigenous Native Americans? What about Indians? Asians? Africans? What about Germans? Do Inuit lives not matter? It's leaving out a lot.

I would get it being a white nationalist shtick if it was something like "white lives matter," but all lives? If you want everyone treated equal, stop acting like you should be treated different.

No. Having frequented gun boards and reddit meme threads where the boog stuff originated this theory of yours is just plain wrong. The origin of boogaloo as a coded meme didnt appear until a year or two ago online years after that protest. The transition into the hawaiian thing came even later as a result of mods cracking down on the original term. Ive never been part of a gun board that didn't ban 88ers and stormfront people as board policy. Im not quite sure where the tiki torch thing came from. I always suspected they were just lazy and all hit up local wal marts when they got into town.

Trump wasn’t happy about low attendance numbers

there’s a video of him pouting as he goes back to the White House. I think the whole thing with the low numbers at the rally is both interesting and funny:
    - it was bad for the pandemic that no one was wearing masks and all close together, but not as bad as it could have been. There were actually fan bois too who decided it wasn’t worth it. This is a step in the right direction. It’s like lighting fire to only part of the building instead of the whole thing.

    - trump’s reaction to is and the fact the right wing media fell for the much publicized prank by a bunch of tick tock people and Chinese music fans is just adorable.

Lets be honest, TikTok users and Chinese music fans are basically the same thing. On the CEO of ByteDance:

Hate to break it to you, but that K in K-pop stands for Korean. I know our educational system is in the shitter, but I sincerely hope you people aren't trying to spell China with a K.

Otherwise, if it isn't a spelling error, it looks like you don't seem to give a shit that they are two entirely separate races, or you're getting your information from somewhere that is either unwilling or unable to tell the difference. If the latter is the case, your ignorance can be at least explained. If it isn't, and you simply don't give a shit, casual racist white people shit like this and the president calling it kung flu contributes to why there are protests, looters and statues being torn down.

yeah my wife just had to explain to me what "stans" meant. That shit's bad enough to make Eminem go back to drinking.

On topic, looks like trump is back to blaming foreign interference on wanting Biden (he can't accept we just want literally anyone but him), basically setting this up to claim it as a fake and illegitimate win if/win he loses.

Do y'all think there will be a bunch of blowback and civil unrest of Biden takes it?

0% chance it will ever compete with the level of butthurt, blame deflecting, and conspiracy theory crafting we saw in 2016 because that has to be the apex, but at a minimum we will see widespread, completely unfounded claims of voter fraud. I mean, they're already doing that as like a pregame.
