You mean the guys that had their picture on the internet with an anarchy symbol on the wall behind them? Yeah, I don't think that's a Trump supporter.

Look, I don't really disagree with anyone here. Our country is in a fucked up place. Trump is a piece of shit. But the other option we're given is Biden/Harris who are equally repulsive. Outside influences are taking advantage of all the division in the country and doing their best to turn all of us against each other. It seems to be working.

    We're fucked no matter what.

My city just won two championships back to back. People rioting for a valid reason would be a nice change.

Can you show me where the kidnapping idiots were pro-Trump? The pictures I saw showed them much more antifa then anything else.

See, I don't agree about Biden/Harris being equally repulsive. Am I happy with the choice? Hell no. But I've seen enough of Biden to know that he is a decent human being who actually cares about other people. Trump is a narcissistic monster who flat out doesn't give a fuck about anyone else. In addition, he is flat out incompetent and encourages division between people. He gets rid of anyone who doesn't kiss his ass. It's been 4 years of a complete shit show and pretty damn much anyone would be better than him. Hell, he makes Bush jr. look like a competent genius.

Unless it’s a landslide victory, the incoming post-election migraine for you guys is going to be atrocious in spite of who wins. I have no clue who will win this election. I thought I knew last time and was dead wrong, I learned liberals and Democrats are FAR more vocal about their voting habits. There’s a lot of silent people out there who still have to decide.

If Biden simply sits still while Trump says goofy off-topic shit at superspreader events for the next week, it can only help him. He is keeping his social media posts short and logical on main issues and at is at least try to avoid having more senior moments. Perhaps they have an aid in with giant eyebrows in white scrubs who’s keeping him in a “sleeper hold” and ghost-tweeting from his accounts about following mask mandates.

    I don't disagree with you.

But I also look at Democratic stronghold cities like Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, et al and think...Do I want the whole country like this? Nightly riots. Defund the police. Hate anyone who thinks different then you.

It would be nice if we had an alternate choice that had a chance of winning, but we don't. So, sadly many of us choose the side that is less repulsive to us and hate anyone with a different opinion because we're told that's what we're supposed to do.

That's where we are. I wish we had a clear way out of this, but I don't see one.

Portland has a couple of blocks that has a standing invite for some edgy college kids to brawl with cops. The rest of those cities are peaceful to the point of boring. If you look at the most dangerous cities in the country, you'll find Memphis, Birmingham, St Louis, Cleveland, Little Rock and places like that well before you'll find these liberal bastions like Seattle, San Francisco, Boston, etc.

As for the idea that these are lawless places without law enforcement, that is just silly. The LAPD budget is a measurable fraction of the entire GDP of Vermont. The NYPD has more men at arms than the militaries of the majority of nations on Earth.

We only have this shitty choice because we let it happen. Biden was one candidate among an original field of nearly 30. Trump had nearly a dozen GOP challengers in the 2016 primary. We can collectively stop assuming that we don’t have choice in the matter and vote for better candidates. If everyone assumed their vote didn’t mean anything, then no one’s does.

I’m frankly exhausted with all of it.

I don't know if I believe Texas flipping blue. The urban areas, sure. But there are a LOT of rural communities that are die-hard, and the best chance Biden has is if those folks stay home. Part of Beto's appeal was this notion (from LBJ) that only a Texas Democrat can win Texas, and it didn't pan out that way.

Welcome to the silent majority in this election. I think the mood for most of us is "Sigh. Fine. Biden. Anything to get this buffoonery to stop."

I can't quite follow the math, but overall Trump's base is somewhere between 30 and 40% of the population, at best., and I think that's eroded precipitously over the pandemic. So, record turnout is a bad sign for him. I also think his base has plenty of reasons to just sit this one out:
    1. No compelling reason to oppose Biden, or at least not on the same plane as Hillary.
    2. The SC apppointment is a done deal.
    3. COVID spiking.
    4. God forbid, they realized he's full of shit and can't continue to support the lies
    5. No real plan for a 2nd term. I think this is a really valid question: what does a vote for the GOP or Trump actually accomplish? What's his plan for the next 4 years? I realize Biden has put up a grab bag of wonky shit on his website, but it's a safe bet he'll play a lot less golf. So, for a lot of GOP voters, the abortion issue is now "resolved" because of a SC majority. Guns are about to be murky because all of the sudden the largest surge in gun ownership is African American, and the NRA's sketchy bullshit....Governor Edwards in Louisiana provided a blueprint for how to navigate that issue expertly. So, what is riling these folks up to go out and vote? "Own the libs" is a bit hollow at this point, considering we have actual issues that require leadership to solve.
    6. HOLY FUCKBALLS THE DEFICIT. NO ONE VOTED FOR THAT BULLSHIT.
    7. They are embarrassed and can't abide voting for a Democrat, but will sort of object to another Trump term by staying home.

Maren Morris with an absolutely fire song that's appropriate for these times.

As crazy as everything is right now, I'm optimistic for our future thanks a wave of youth and smart people who have taken an active interest in politics and fixing the problems we face. (Texas currently leads the nation in early voting among the young demographic.)

It’s good for people who work off hours and can’t get to the polls during the normal day.
