Counterpoint:I thought I hated these people, and it turns out that I still do, and they’ve justified my feelings over and over again.
The FBI may disagree. https://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/jm3mtw/fbi_investigating_incident_where_trump_train/
I'm thinking as more of the camera footage comes out the story will change as it always does. https://twitter.com/JackPosobiec/st...in-swarming-of-biden-bus-on-texas-interstate/
So the SUV, which has its hazard lights on by this point for reasons that should be obvious to anyone, is trying to protect the bus by straddling the line and giving the bus some room. The truck takes this opportunity to try to shove its way into a tailgating position against the bus, and when the SUV doesn't want to let the truck split it from the bus, the truck swerves into it. Yeah, real exonerating.
Funny, in my mind, as I wrote that last post, I was thinking about the Nicholas Sandmann effect. How edited video or certain angles can show a different perspective that isn't reality. Then the guy who brought the Sandmann video to the board first to tell us all about the basket of deplorables from Kentucky is the one to respond.
I think I didn’t hate people before, generally. I think I just mostly ignored them. I can’t ignore them now.
Oh are we playing the board member's personal credibility game? Here's my first post on the video, in which I correctly identify that the video is going to be massive viral clickbait, but I don't even bother posting it because, as mentioned, it's just viral clickbait: https://www.theidiotboard.com/threads/elephants-and-jackasses.254446/page-482#post-617438 I then return to talking about the SDNY and the Mueller investigation. Here's my second post on the video, after it's been posted and discussed by others, in which I add context (including mitigating context for the little shits) and pretty much get the timeline right: https://www.theidiotboard.com/threads/elephants-and-jackasses.254446/page-483#post-617475 The fact that you've been holding onto this "grudge" is a little telling.
https://twitter.com/breaking911/status/1322957092412686343?s=21 I was told it was okay to run over and kill people who block traffic.
Holy shit I def saw a Trumpy Bear for a fraction of a second when the camera panned. Someone actually bought one.
It doesn’t end there. Just google this dipshit’s name, he’s been arrested for impersonating cops, he’s a seven-layer loser. He’s not going to enjoy his newfound fame.
Just to summarize, if you’re blocking the road to protest 300 years of oppression you should be run over. If you’re blocking the road to celebrate your cult- like worship of a reality TV star it’s just fine. ‘Murica
Saddens me this sentiment. If Biden wins the news media at least will calm down. Twitter is going to twitter. Family and friends hating each other over politics is going to be something we have to deal with as a society. I dont see a way out of it. Of course being in the thick of it it can be hard to see a way out.
People assuming their political views as their entire personal identity isn’t helping anything. I’m reading a book that suggests it’s taken the place of religion as the latter declines in the West. Tensions and ebb and flow, and there’s been major changes in the makeup of the two major parties in the last 10 years. Things will even out eventually. As far the media promising Armageddon either way, they are more or less encouraging strife and unrest because it gets them viewers, readers and clicks. I’m guessing things won’t be nearly as bad as people are hyped-up into believing it will be. Most people are good people, and they probably don’t want unrest and rioting any more than their opponents do.
I think this, too, about "people." About my neighbors and friends, and the majority of people I encounter at the grocery store, or movie theatre or restaurants, etc. But, then, you don't have to look too hard to find YouTube compilations of elected leaders drumming up and supporting violence and unrest. They just want their sweet, sweet pensions and power.
Sure they do. Its also very easy to get sucked into the spiral of despair over that stuff and start thinking that nothing exists outside of it. I find it useful to look at that type of stuff through a couple of different lenses: What is actually happening in said video? Is there enough context of the situation, action or statement? Is the video or post trying to get me to "feel" a certain way about it (i.e. is there a narrative)? How is it going to directly impact me, my family or my immediate community? How do I actually feel about it? I'm generally an optimist about almost everything, so your mileage may very.
