Trump just issued 15 pardons and 5 commutations, including three Congressmen who were among the first to endorse him (convicted of insider trading and misuse of campaign funds), two Trump-orbit folk (convicted of lying to the special counsel), four war criminals (convicted of murder of Iraqi civilians), and two border patrol agents (convicted of shooting an alleged drug trafficker and covering it up). Something tells me he's just getting warmed up though.

Overturn? No. Declare that their issuance was done in a manner that exceeds and/or abuses the power of the Presidency and are therefore invalid? Well there's no rule that says dogs can't play basketball. I doubt it's a fight Biden will want to pick, even though he should. This has been a historic abuse of the pardon power.

Even if you could, you are yet to have a president with balls enough to say “fuck that” and throw the assholes back in jail on something else. Nixon got to skate, if they (thanks to Ford) couldn’t arrest him they at least could have found another charge, or at least poisoned the cocksucker.

Can a future President forcibly incarcerate someone? Definitely not, or at least, hopefully not.

The first round of pardons are to generate the whargarbl, the next few are the ones that he actually needs. I am surprised he didn't pardon that kid who shot protesters, that's the level of outrage he needs to cover his exit with $250m of "campaign funds" he raised AFTER the election.

The criminal behavior of this administration and how....normal it is has been fucking astounds me. Like, there is no comparable hypocrisy and it is mind blowing.

I hope Biden simply let's the states go nuts ripping apart his empire, and his DOJ can focus on the cronies that got rich off of all his shenanigans.

Also, this is pretty perfect air coverage for the Russian hack scandal that ought to get a serious response.

The vibe I get is one of "alright, it's over, now just let him throw one last tantrum so he goes away without really burning the place down". Appeasement.

This has gone on for four years, though. This is what truly scares me about this guy: literally no one on his side has attempted to hold him accountable for fleecing the fucking taxpayers.
If I were more optimistic, I'd say this would lead to serious reforms. However, I'm more concerned he just normalized this for both sides to be this flagrantly illegal.

Rittenhouse is being charged by the State of Wisconsin, he can't be pardoned by the President.

Add Stone, Manafort, and Kushner's dad to the list of pardons. Trump has been the most corrupt President in US history for a while, but he's just running up the score at this point.

Imagine giving someone like Trump the power of the Presidency, and fuck all reason to hold back on using it.

I would really like to hear from someone who voted Republican to explain to me if you'll continue voting for Republican after Republicans actively prevented giving you $2000 during a pandemic. Double bonus points if you are unemployed, underemployed, or just live paycheck to paycheck.

That was in the first batch of pardons. Manafort, Stone, and Kushner were in the second. He's so corrupt that any corrupt action he takes can be assumed to be repeated before even the news cycle for the first time dies down.

Um, that is literally how some voters decide who to vote for. Also, you're missing the point.

The question I should have asked is why in the world would anyone vote for someone who supports the government taking money out of their constituency's pockets? Every Republican senator and representative that voted or acted against the stimulus bill did exactly that.

I think this is why Republicans don't vote for politicians that want to raise taxes?

Some people vote simply because people have a D or an R next to their name and disregard everything else. That's working out well.

You mean like when I was fined $600 for being laid off and didn't have insurance for a few months? And I got to fund people that never worked having insurance, while going without myself. Yeah, that was pretty fucking awesome.

Wow is Trump a piece of shit. Funny he wouldn’t have cared, but when he found out this woman sicked a vicious police dog on a homeless black guy.... pardon that “good officer”.

I hope he dies soon, and horribly. Ass cancer would be nice. You people who thought it was ghoulish to wish for his death from COVID are completely out of your fucking minds. He deserves FAR worse.
