Annnnd his statements are so batshit that even Trump's other lawyers are very loudly telling the FBI/Secret Service that they have nothing to do with him:

Idunno, but when they're hired by the President of the United States, I'm kinda forced to reckon with them.

Yeah the responses are always batshit on Twitter, but the original tweet is by one of Trump's lawyers.

Clinton reunited Fleetwood Mac for his victory, now Trump reunites a band just as famous for his.

I guess he couldn’t afford Kenny Loggins but HAD to have a Top Gun soundtrack artist.

Wasn't Berlin the band who did Take My Breath Away?

This combined with 10 Republican Senators coming out and saying they're going to object to the certification means be ready for fireworks on Jan 6. They can generate 2 hours of debate per state, which means they could theoretically delay for ~12 hours if they object to 6 states (Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia, Arizona, Nevada), which would wrap things up in the middle of the night. If they object to fewer than that, that means they're timing it so that the results get certified while the Trump folk are still awake and in the streets, which means that the goal is for the people in the streets to get violent.

This was the first song I remember them doing... well before anything in Top Gun.

It was the fuel of many a high school fantasy.

A thing I think people don't realize is that a base is responsible for getting people primaried. If a GOP candidate is gleefully sucking on one of Trump's ever expanding titties, all it takes is a tweet and that candidate is getting not only votes, but a sudden wave of disinformation about their opponent on social media and an influx of outside campaign contributions.

All these senators who are voting against the election results strike me as only interested in advancing themselves and don't seem to be lockstep with the party leader. Which is interesting, because for as long as I've been following politics in my adult life, McConnell has wielded the entire party as a cudgel against progress. Now the party is fractured, and only because McConnell used Trump's cult of personality to keep and maintain political power. I'm curious to see if he'll either crush or be crushed by these senators in the same way I'm curious if I'll see a mangled limb as a result of a drunk driver crashing into a tree.

The old saying is that "Democrats fall in love and Republicans fall in line". Now McConnell is seeing Trump loyalists doing the same ratfuckery to him that he's done to progressives. If it wasn't such a clear red flag for American democracy, it would be hilarious.

It's amazing how much he sounds like someone trying to mimic a gangster in a Scorsese movie.

Its like watching a really bad soap opera. I’m waiting for his twin to show up, or to find out the last four years were a dream sequence.

Any other politician would be charged with crimes by now. But I honestly feel that Trump is too out of his mind to know that he's even committing them. If he doesn't have the requisite intent because he is so delusional, it might be hard to prove he's knowingly committing crimes. If these sort of crimes don't require that kind of intent, then he might actually get charged with something after he leaves.
