Personally I'd be a little more worried that your president elect seems to be asking a prominent anti-vaxer to chair a safety commisson on vaccinations.
It's not true. /pol/ started this and made fools out of the media. They created a spin from scratch that only idiots would believe to be true. So of COURSE the media believed it to be true because they're idiots.
It's hilarious, but probably false and makes little sense. Why would Obama stay at an FSB controlled hotel under surveillance? Buzzfeed even said that they don't know if it's true, but it's up to the readers to decide if they want to believe it. That's what journalism has become and it's essentially in crisis mode in the US. I honestly don't know where to do get an honest reporting of facts without spin or editorialism. Perhaps that's part of Russia's game, information warfare. No one really knows what's true anymore. It's mostly the left-wing press for the usual reasons, but the right is guilty of it too. Hopefully this opens up a window for a new organization that thinks that honest, straightforward reporting is a market than can now be cornered, sadly. Whats going to happen is, amid the clouds of bullshit, the Republicans are going to pass a ton of legislation very quickly without anyone realizing what theyre doing.
I know, right? I guess I don't know what to think about all of this? Is the story true? Does Trump get down with piss play? Does this finally prove fake news is a real problem? That no news agency is reputable? Does it show just how little intelligence is employed at the CIA? Does it prove to everyone that intelligence agencies can't be trusted? Does this amount to the death knell for CNN's credibility as a reputable news source? My sincere hope is that people turn away from the media and the Government. Neither deserve your trust.
Yeah, Obama spoke last night about decent people withdrawing from civic politics because of the tone and rhetoric, ironic since he's played the game too. Ive found myself more and more disengaging people in debate, in real life, and have scaled back my attention to politics.
From Trump's press conference: " When CNN reporter Jim Acosta objects to what he says is an attack on his organization and demands a question, Trump tells him not to be rude and adds: "You are fake news." Awesome.
I don't know, I'm at work and couldn't follow the video, but here's a story on the encounter: ‘You Are Fake News!’: Trump and CNN’s Jim Acosta Get Into Shouting Match at Presser
Not only was this a wonderful display of immaturity on Trumps part, but when you appoint the former executive chair of Breitbart "News" as your senior counselor you should probably keep your mouth shut about fake news.
Although I agree, I also side with Trump in this particular situation for two reasons: 1) The reporter wouldn't do what he was told and simply shut the fuck up. Another woman was trying to ask a question and this blathering talking head refused to let her speak. He was a rude cunt. So fuck him. 2) CNN is terrible at everything they do, all the time, every single day. They are bias fake news, a shit-stained shell of what they were 25 years ago. So fuck them. ....on the other hand, Trump talks out of his ass every time he's in front of the microphone, he's a compulsive liar who repeats fake news more than anybody else. The fucking idiot thinks the Chinese made up climate change.
Here's my conspiracy theory: Trump leaked the report to the media. He did this throughout the campaign. He takes some criticism of him, gives the media a whiff of something ridiculous, and then they proceed to make complete asses of themselves. I think that's why he made so many ambiguous statements as well. You can only hear so many times about how someone is so offended by some iffy remark before you want to punch them in the face. The messed up part of all this is that if the intelligence community actually did find out that Trump was coordinating his campaign with Russia, he now has a case to make to his hard line followers that it's all just a political witch hunt and he's really the victim. What a shit storm that would be. Maybe this one really is just is a random occurrence, but the way the media keeps falling for it over and over never ceases to amaze me. Here's the geniuses at CNN deliberating on Trump and the media. Eventually they start arguing about whether or not to cover his tweets. They're so dumb.
If they make cardiac arrest accelerators, I'll happily chip in on buying one for that woman. CNN has been 24-7 comedy. This was the network that once reported from inside a war zone as the bombs fell around them. No news organization came close to something like that. They used to truly be a great network. How the mighty have fallen. Don Fucking Lemon. *snort*
Why is it not a big deal that he is single and ready to mingle? Why are other networks and "news" blogs having a field day with that? You don't even have to mock the dude. Just link to the youtubes of him being the epitome of every amateur on NYE. Let his work do your work.
As we come up on the inauguration I feel more and more like Denny Green. Donald Trump is exactly who we thought he was, and we let him off the hook. He's not going to improve, he's not going to evolve, he's going to be a petty little shit until impeachment, a stroke, an election, or term limits stop him.
Those are all good points, but the 1/2 of the electorate that voted for him may think he brings other things to the table.
I have genuinely been trying to figure out for months now just what that is. I've never had a problem putting myself in other people's shoes and seeing what they see in a candidate or a policy position before, even if I disagree with it vehemently. But with Trump there is just zero to like, no matter what kind of voter I assume myself to be.
