So far, the 343 Capitol riot arrests have produced: - 43 service-enlisted people - 7 Cops - 16 Proud Boys - 12 Oathkeepers ... so, a good 15% chunk of the arrestees are government infiltrators. That must make people feel REAL comfortable with who’s next to them.
GA passes a voter suppression law. The Republican party has become an anti democratic joke. https://www.motherjones.com/politic...bill-to-make-it-easier-to-overturn-elections/
Democrats need to challenge the votes of every single registered Republican in the state, at every election. Just turn that provision of the new law into a complete shitshow.
Voting rights will become the new Civil Rights, as in, the Feds will jump in to manage the whole damn thing since the states can't be trusted to do it fairly.
Say a bunch of prominent accounts on social media said if you want to make flying safer, you'd need to get a penis tattooed on your forehead to prevent plane crashes. Then a bunch of people who believe this would run for office and get voted in, because nobody wants to see more plane crashes, right? Then these people would pass laws that required people get fat, veiny cocks tattooed on their foreheads, because if they didn't, they couldn't fly. Then a bunch of airlines go out of business because there exists a bunch of people who don't believe in walking around with permanent dicks on their heads in public. That is exactly what is happening now. Just substitute flying with voting, plane crashes with voter fraud, tattooed dicks with voter suppression laws, and airlines with democracy. Yes, you can get through life by not voting, just like you can drive to pretty much everywhere. But in the long run, driving everywhere ends up being bad for the planet and your mental, physical and economic health. Just like what happens when you don't vote. If you (not Juice, but the royal you) honestly believe that making voting more difficult is a positive for American democracy, I'd be happy to hear how. And you're going to need a better reason for it than miniscule voter fraud that had no effect on the outcome.
That is quite an analogy, but I really don't know much about what is happening in Georgia to take a position on it one way or another. I was pointing out that a losing candidate taking their case passed the state courts to a friendly Congress to potentially overturn the results illustrates why the federal government should not be the ultimate adjudicator for elections. And for the record, I would get a penis tattooed on my head for free. All you had to do was ask.
It's nothing good, and GA isn't the only state doing it. Apparently Republicans don't appreciate actually having to win over voters, so instead of making the better offer they just want to limit who can shop at the store. Pure bullshit voter suppression, based on that mythical "rampant voter fraud" they can't seem to demonstrate.
no they can demonstrate it, it's just that it's almost always republican voters who do it I really miss being able to vote conservative. There's no way I could morally do it now, just couldn't live with supporting such an evil platform. But I do lean conservative fiscally, as far as "less is more" when it comes to government, with obvious exceptions, such as healthcare which I believe should be universal in the same way everyone has access to EMS, I also think Internet access should be universal and government subsidized if necessary. It's just crazy to think that a party which used to feel represented me more often than not, I no longer recognize, and in fact stands in many ways diametrically opposed to my beliefs and moral standards. Sad, but not surprising given who they've chosen to lead them lately.
Prove it. I know a good number of tattoo artists (none in your area, though), and they will sometimes do weird / dare/ bet tattoos for free, IF it's not too large or detailed. I'm sure you can find an artist in Boston who will tattoo a 6" cock on you for free with a good enough story.
https://www.politico.com/news/2021/03/26/biden-congress-georgia-voting-restrictions-478170 "Georgia's broad new elections law will add an ID requirement for voters requesting an absentee ballot, cut the length of runoffs, and effectively turn the election board over to the legislature. It also limits drop boxes and prohibits people from giving voters in line food or beverages. Voters in Georgia’s primaries faced several-hour lines at times, particularly near and in Atlanta, a heavily Democratic area in the closely divided state." I'm fine with everything except the part in bold, because what this does is make Trump's attempt to convince the GA board to overturn the election legal. That is the issue. It gives elected officials the chance to select the winner, and that isn't how voting works.
So does anyone think there's any chance that this new law gets repealed? Because if it doesn't, it sets a terrible precedent.
