I understand why she quit. I just didn’t understand why she wa a getting attacked. Is she an outspoken enemy of conservatives? Or is this just because she made America look bad?
As far as I can tell by backing out after her initial performance, which was abysmal, the American team was able to get a medal. But by backing out and letting someone more able to take her place she demonstrated very clearly why people should make the best decision for the group rather then themselves. And that runs counter to the "fuck your feelings" and the "I got mine" attitude that seems to form the core of the extremely delicate conservative identity. I'm sure that there are a bunch of other factors that are fueling these attacks that tie into sexism, racism and/or the idea that athletes only exist as a source of entertainment. In the end she made a choice that in the end earned America a medal.
I wish Craig Ferguson's show was still around. Remember those Rumsfeld videos he'd do, where he had fake hands do stuff like fold origami? We need one of those for whatever Biden wrote on the back of the note that said "Sir, there is something on your chin," after he wiped off the nacho cheese and ate it. And, then Pelosi's hot mic saying she didn't want Biden to speak? I wish there were better late night shows, because that seems like some pretty good comedy fodder. I was going to post this in WDT, but I know this will turn political. I just thought it was funny.
Sorry to double post, but I'm very happy to see things like this and to not have to worry about tariffs being imposed.
It's surprising you because he isn't saying something insane while sitting on the john @ 2AM. Who knew a president could make rational tweets?
Biden can’t utter two sentences questions without sounding like he has dementia. I highly doubt he is actually tweeting anything himself. Crazier things have happened, though.
That's odd, because he sounds like a rocket scientist compared to the last guy to me. Trump can't even string together a coherent sentence. He's all sound bites and buzz words.
It might be time to get over Trump and judge Biden on his own merits. I understand it was important to vote him (or anyone) in to get Trump out, but let’s not pretend he is best the possible person for that job.
I don't think Biden was the best candidate, but he was the guy that got nominated and I damn sure wasn't voting for another four years of Trump. If his mental capabilities decline the adults will step in and give the job to the VP. I won't be a fan of it but it may be necessary. There is no way anyone does the same if that scenario occurred and Trump had won another four years. The Republican party still won't go against the big lie even though most know damn well it isn't true.
I’m not sure how “but if Trump won…” actually matters anymore. He didn’t, so it’s irrelevant to the point I’m making. The idea that the “adults will step in” is a bit depressing. That would never happen unless he was in a coma. Until then, his actions and words actually matter. That is not an unreasonable concern.
I mean, I get that he has a speech impediment... but I don't get any kind of dementia, etc, from him. I haven't seen any Conservative alternative that even comes close to being as good as he is right now.
I think the bigger concern for the dems right now should be 2024. Harris can't win a national election with her at the top spot. And she would be the obvious choice should Biden be a one-term guy. I don't have a real problem with Harris, but she can't yaasss kween her way to the oval office.
I don't think Harris gets the nomination regardless of what happens. She's just to unpopular and I can't see the Dems backing her like Hillary. What concerns me is the 2022 elections. The Republicans seem to be willing to do anything to obtain power and 2020 showed them the way. If they gain control of the House and Senate American democracy may be fucked.
It's gonna be the most annoying fucking campaign with all her supporters yelling about racism and sexism if she doesn't get the nomination.
