She made sure to distance herself from his actions by making sure we all knew she was on the other side of the country. Like we give a shit.

he should distance himself from her by divorcing her

I don’t even know where she stands on her politics, maybe I completely agree with her — but every time I see her she’s just looks like a cunt

According to my Facebook feed, people are super pissed because He got arrested late Saturday on a holiday weekend and was let out early Sunday morning. That flies in the face of the long standing belief that you get arrested on a three day weekend, you don't get out until Tuesday when the judge comes back to work.

I've never been arrested, weekend or otherwise, so I don't know that is the usual or if you get out once you sober up.

    Anyone else know for sure?

Never been arrested either, but from what I’ve seen from those I know who have been (dui’s usually) it really just depends on the place. Most of the time they’ve been let out the next morning, rarely spending more than one night unless there was more than just one charge

Depends on the locality Id assume. For what it's worth I was in a roll over accident and charged with a DUI, and I was booked, processed, and released immediately. I wasn't placed in a cell at all. Whole ordeal was maybe 3 hours from wreck until my friend's dad picked me up at the station. Speeding tickets and a leash law ticket were the worst things on my record at that point. Probably because Im white.

I've done some research in the last few minutes. Looks like a person could get bonded out during a weekend in the right place and under the right circumstances. I don't know how common it is, evidently the heathens I ran around with actually weren't that bad, since I don't know this. I would be interested to know if they were bonding other people out also, or if it was in any way preferential treat of one the country's top politicians. I'm sure some will try to find out and some will claim it is no matter what facts come out.

there is zero doubt in my mind that he got preferential treatment due to his skin color and who he is. I wish it wasn’t that way, but that’s reality. If Nancy polosi murdered someone in broad daylight, the entire “investigation” would be handled with kid gloves, one because she’s retarded, but also because of her skin color and who she is. Same thing with desantis or anyone else.

I could see his age playing a part as well. He's in his 80s, right? Plus the white, rich and well connected thing. I could see some cops being like okay grandpa, go home.

In North Carolina at least it is not uncommon at all to not go to jail after being arrested for a DWI(they call it an unsecured bond). Basically the magistrate(it can also be a judge, but since most of the time it’s in the middle of the night likely a magistrate pulling overnight duty) would look at any aggravating/mitigating factors, such as:

was there an accident and/or physical injury to another?
What the offenders record is like(especially looking at prior DWIs)?
What’s the likelihood of person showing up to court(e.g. do they live in the area? For how long? Etc.)?
Were they polite and cooperative, or just a giant dick to the officers/magistrate?

seeing as I’m sure Pelosi’s 1) Has no record(or we’d have heard of it by now), 2)likelihood of showing up to court is high, and 3) likely isn’t stupid enough to mouth off to the police when he’s being arrested, I’m not surprised they didn’t throw him in jail.

I think Dieformetal laid it out. I was booked, they took my info, and I was let go. Released on my own recognizance. I think this is pretty common everywhere. I dont think this even falls under the more aggressive pushes in states like California to get rid of bail.

My DUI was over 30 years ago, but it was during the MADD heyday, I posted bail and was out within a couple of hours.

Mine was almost 30 years ago. No bail (unless you consider paying to get my car out of impoundment a pseudo bail), just charged and held until someone could come pick me up.

Same with my first arrest several years before- trespassing and underage possession of alcohol. We hadn’t actually started drinking yet, and we’re arrested only until they cleared up the fact that we were not actually trespassing. No bail, just booked and released.

Oh for sure. Even if it was true that people generally get held for longer on long weekends with DUIs — which so far this thread is showing to be an old wives tale — he had so many things going for him I don’t know why people were getting angry. Like, well no shit. That’s just how it works. I don’t like or agree with it, but you have to be logical about it all. Rich, white, old, well connected? BINGO! You go free, don’t do that shit again old man.

Don’t like that it works that way? Then vote.

Nothing, that’s the problem. Unless you count collecting speaking fees from hedge funds.

I don’t care that she’s getting fees. I care that she’s too retarded to recognize glaring indicators of an incoming recession and inflation that is now here and the government failed to enact sound monetary/fiscal policies in response to it.
