There's an aide testifying to the January 6th committee that the security director relayed this story to her pretty close to after it happened. https://apnews.com/article/capitol-siege-government-and-politics-9e7c03bb83f43fb17b4fd90d1360993d
Speaking of this aide, she is indistinguishable from an Aaron Sorkin character on the West Wing. If this were being written as an episode of the show, you cannot tell me that Sorkin wouldn't write her as an attractive 25 year old who is poised but doesn't seem to realize how pretty she is. Fuck, she even looks like Hallie Shea from The Newsroom.
They just added witness tampering to the accusations. They put up two statements from witnesses saying they'd been contacted and told that if they "protected" the team they'd remain in Trump's good graces.
Y'all understand half of the reason for this was to give cover for Roe V Wade right? Maybe I'm a tinfoil hat guy, but I think they're all out for whats best for their class. This is all window dressing to me to make people not focus on one or the other. Republicans got their thing and Democrats get theirs and we sit here baffled as to why we're going to hell in a hand basket.
This hearing alone implicated the president in seditious conspiracy, inciting a riot, simple assault, obstruction of an official proceeding, and witness tampering. That shit was jam-packed with flavor.
American politics is reality TV, and this shit is like the early stages of American Idol. Obama is William Hung.
Yeah, but if this was TeeVee, they people that stormed the capitol would have actually brandished weapons and shot people. And then Toby Ziegler would've given somberly chatted with a staffer about Americans shooting Americans or something.
Yeah, I definitely believe Trump bugging out in that fashion. I just can’t believe he actually grabbed the steering wheel. Unless he was riding shotgun for some weird reason.
With meth mouth and family trees straight up without a branch. I've long referred to the nearby city as "Darwin's Playground" for a reason.
My understanding is that would work similar to how they could let a native tribe run a casino independent of state laws, or in some cases, how embassies function. Dude, there is totally a federal law against murder. Several, in fact. There are even entire categories of murder that only the federal government deals with. The fuck are you talking about? Also, interesting example on Yellowstone: it's currently the most recent case of "Republican government ignoring critical warnings on flood and infrastructure risk, then hypocritically demanding that FEMA pay for everything." It's almost like...one entire party is just bad at governing. I'm curious for those in the medical profession if the recently-triggered laws are going to cause some sort of talent exodus. If you're an Ob-Gyn in one of these areas, how long until you close up shop and leave? I wonder how long before the shitty implementation/application of these laws exacerbate a shortage of medical personnel. Like....the threat of lawsuits alone must be staggering, and I can see how medical malpractice insurance rates might seriously force some folks to close practices.
