I've noticed a quite a few Californians have a blindness to their state no matter what issues you point out.
Texans too. it’s like the idiots who say liberals aren’t patriotic, or that people in favor of gun control can’t also be in 2A advocates. No, I love my country, that’s why I want to see it do better. Also, I like guns, I just I want to see there be more control over who has them and I think we can provide reasonable safety measures without taking away freedumbs. I love Texas, but it has some major faults. Specifically, one in a wheelchair. And our other elected officials. And those who continue to vote for them. And whomever the fuck designed Houston’s rainwater drainage system. And Aggies.
Well, yeah, Texas is almost half as big as Alaska, there's bound to be some hot chicks with big titties!
The Great Alaskan Bush Company has a remarkable variety of titties. A man could blow through his overtime pay there.
I've never heard anyone outside of San Francisco use that word. I work for a public company based out of SF, and have a Mexican working for me, and he fucking HATES it when we say he has to identify as LatinX. We find it hilarious. HR will be in touch any day now, I'm sure.
Even funnier, this dude is a SERIOUS player... he's worked for multiple 3-letter agencies, and was instrumental in developing the US GPS satellite system. To this day, even now that he's out of said agencies, if he goes anywhere, he has people looking over him as he could still be used as leverage against the government. Getting him drunk is fucking hilarious.. he has some great stories.
that’s why I used it. I was just gonna call them Mexicans, but I’m sure someone here woulda said that was racist or whatever when the reality is, as you well know, people aren’t PC at all in south Texas. I’m white, my nephew is half black, San Antonio is full of a bunch of fat Mexicans, the valley is full of a bunch of fat stupid Mexicans, Austin is full of smelly white hippie people, and Dallas is full of fratholes. That’s just how it is.
I knew a guy who had a KGB (or I guess FSB these days) tail whenever he went to Russia. He was just a slavic language nerd, but it so happens that all the linguistically interesting areas of Russia tend to be so because they're populated with ethnic minorities with their own culture and language, and those folks tend to not be huge fans of central Russian rule. The Russians saw an American traveling from potentially disgruntled region to disgruntled region and assumed he was CIA and so they followed him.
When historians look back at this period and ask "how did they not see what was coming?" it's going to be little details like these that they point to as obvious red flags: https://twitter.com/srl/status/1545420244776361988
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/07/14/trump-2024-announcement-fall/ Trump will announce pretty much as soon as he understands charges pending or forthcoming. According to a Rolling Stone article, they are trying to pin everything on Mark Meadows for Jan. 6th, which would work if that was the only set of investigations he's under. I am curious if there's a different set of rules once he's announced, as far as investigation, or if that's just for any perceived political air coverage. IE, if they proceed with an investigation, it'll look like political manuevering. And some of the charges that could be brought will be minimized by a statute of limitations, so his thinking is "announce, get everyone to kiss the ring as part of the mid-term ceremony, slander any investigation as illegitimate, and delay/obstruct as long as possible to run out the clock on some charges." Also, if he's the presumptive nominee, he can work the midterms to his advantage, stumping for folks who if they win, will exert some pressure on the investigations. I am curious if he thinks he can convince DeSantis to run as his VP?
