It's not just terrestrial weather/atmospheric conditions, but space weather too. The frequency bands they're using are susceptible to weather and are also used in a lot of other applications. I'm curious as to how well it will perform in environments where there's heavy use of those bands.

So far early reports from beta testers say that severe rain and snow has not affected the service. Who knows... it might be that the sats are low enough and the signal is strong enough that it can power through stuff that was affecting my DirectTV stuff way back.

It's almost like shit advances or something.

That's what I wonder about...the Starlink connection may work, but what's it jamming?

The emitter with the most power wins.

I've got some coin sitting in the bank account doing absolutely nothing and I wouldn't mind putting a bit of it to work. For a fresh off the boat nub as far as investing goes what's the advice from those that have been playing the game for a while. Something I can do easily off my phone that doesn't charge through the eye for fees is always a good start.

Stick it in an index fund and forget about it until you need it.

or ETF if you wanna go market-specific.

I switched from E*TRADE to fidelity for zero fee trades and also because they’re a lot bigger so hopefully they’ll fuck with me less after what we saw happen with the GME fiasco when certain places were not allowing trades. So far, fidelity has been great.

also, don’t invest more than you can afford to lose. At the end of the day, it still is gambling. It can be very educated gambling, but gambling nonetheless.

I wonder how timeshares still exist with AirBnB and VRBO?

My in laws have a few of those types of timeshares. I think the Disney one is best as there is literally no place on earth you cannot visit with the points. But the cost alone is prohibitive for most people. I’d never personally do it. But because they enjoy lighting money on fire, we’ve had some pretty nice little vacations at Disney properties.

weed stocks: ya or na? Seems like this is the new "thing" but I also think it's more of a long term play give the way public opinion is going.

I'm thinking about just putting like $100 in a cannabis ETF and letting it sit. But I'm also curious what you fuckers think about it.

Better check to make sure it's backed by physical weed.

May want to read up on Tillway and the shit it went through before. Major short squeeze like GME.

I’d be worried that it’s artificially inflated due to a bunch of potheads (r/trees) pulling a WSB play.

I would invest in a weed ETF, but my friend who owns a weed farm would kill me for investing in the very thing she does without investing in her.

...buying shares in a Colombian cocaine cartel instead.

I think so? It's all in Spanish and I only took a few years in middle school. Apparently the Spanish word for "share" is "kilo".

Not gonna lie... that's a nicely done tattoo. There's also a tattoo artist in your neck of the woods who's offering them up for free.

You know what you have to do...

I'd actually been really wanting to get another tattoo but I was waiting until I got the vaccine. Go figure, a week after teachers got approved down here I got the antibodies the hard way.

Guess I might as well call and make that appointment now.

How does that work? If you actually have it, do you no longer need the vaccine?
