Vincent Jackson, and it's not close. That game could end up being 49 - 42. For a WR2 slot, PPR league, Steve Johnson or Cecil Shorts? Shorts played pretty good with Henne throwing to him last season, I'm tempted by the upside, but I might be overthinking it.
Do I bench Dez Bryant for DeSean Jackson? Dez got me 5.x points last week, DJax got me 23.x on my bench. Every list has Dez higher, but Djax put up points where Dez didn't. Last minute decisions...hate them.
^ Well, I hope you started him. But generally, you shouldn't bench a good starter because of a bad week - nor start a bench player because of one good week unless they have a good matchup. On a good note, I'm currently up by 70 pts with AJ Green still to go. Thanks Matt Ryan, Calvin Johnson and Jimmy Graham...
It's a 10 person league, but I think only 4 of us actually had a draft strategy other than "TAKE BEST AVAILABLE ON THE OVERALL LIST."
My recievers are Dez Bryant, Reggie Wayne, DeSean Jackson, T.Y.Hilton, with a couple long shots on the bench. I play a 10 man, .5ppr league, 1 qb, 2rb, 2wr, 1flex, 1te, 1K, 1Def. I've got Adrian Peterson, Forte, and Reggie Bush as my RB's and flex, with Dez and Wayne for my WR's. Everyone came through tremendously week one, except for Dez. Given the way the Eagles O is going, I was thinking DJax has been under-rated, which was why I was thinking to throw him in, instead if Dez. I'm pretty sure I've got a championship team on my hands, especially if Gronk comes back strong. otherwise I've still got something workable with Greg Olsen as my TE. I just can't have bad weeks like I did here in week two, with AP having 11 points, Wayne with 7, Bush with 8, and my kicker with 0.
James Starks (Eddie Lacy is out with a concussion) vs. Cin or MJD against Seattle with a bad foot or Joique Bell @ Was. No PPR. After watching what Seattle did to the 49ers, I have zero faith in MJD, so it's either Starks or Bell. There's no other good RBs available. I have Trent Richardson as my RB1.
I definitely wouldn't play MJD. I'm actually struggling with Bell vs. Was. or Jordy Nelson vs. Cin. in my flex spot. Washington has been horrible against the run. I can't really see sitting Ridley for a second string back even though Tampa Bay has held runners in check.
I'd start Bell against Wash. With Bush iffy, and how HORRID the skins D is, it's not even close. Cincy at least has a decent defense, and Rodgers has 18 people to throw to. Nelson will probably have a decent game, but I'd bet Bell has a better one.
I'd probably bench Richardson on the first week. Playing San Fran in a brand new system doesn't inspire a ton of confidence in me.
The sad thing is, Trent in a new system against San Fran is equal to or better than any other option for me.
Isn't Fitzgerald on the injury list? A wideout with a hamstring injury isn't going to be playing at 100%.
OK - lineup check for the week. My opponent is off to a good start with Jamal Charles. Who I am planning on starting with bench in parenthesis. QB - Ryan (Cutler) RB - A. Foster, C. Johnson (F. Jackson, B. Powell) WR - B. Marshall, Colston (S. Johnson, Britt) TE - G. Olson (Rudolph) D - Patriots K - Gostkowski Look OK?
Definitely. Ride or die with that lineup, and only reevaluate if someone gets injured or C. Johnson plays SF or SEA.
Thanks, I feel like eveyrybody is OK, but no real superstars. I also put in a request for Donnie Avery because I watched the Chiefs game and he was looking good. With a new QB trying to find his footing with a new team, I am hoping that it was the start of a beautiful relationship. And Britt is pretty dispensible. We'll see.
^ A lot of the time, the team that's "okay but no real superstars" is the one standing at the end, when all the superstars have done their feast-or-famine routines. If the season were benchmarked on total yards or whatever, it might be different, but the guy who owns Peyton Manning only got to blow out one opponent. Bush is slated to be out for the game, I just benched Ridley for Bell. So Ridley owners should probably start him, since this will inevitably be his breakout week.
