Can you guys tell me if this trade is decent? Yahoo has an option to project the value of the trade, and it figures that I would gain 28 points over the course of the season. At first, it seemed like a no brainer, but I just wanted a second opinion. I give up: Terrell Owens and Knowshon Moreno I get: Miles Austin and Roy Williams I'm currently 4-0 in an eight team league. My wideouts right now are Owens, Jennings, Collie, and Hakeem Nicks. My RBs are Arian Foster, Frank Gore, LeSean McCoy, Cedric Benson, and Moreno. I haven't started Owens or Moreno all season, and I'll probably cut Roy Williams and pick up some longshot WR for the hell of it.
Uhhm yeah that trade is decent. Miles Austin is a stud, don't be fooled by TO most of his stats came from one came. As long as you have another WR, (you don't want both Dallas WR's) and I'm assuming you are not using Knowshon he's flex at best.
Opinion please. standard scoring, 0.5 ppr. I get MJD, he gets Andre Johnson or I get Beanie Wells, he gets Santonio Holmes Current RBs are Frank Gore and Marion Barber WR are AJ, Reggie Wayne, Maclin, Bowe, Holmes and Louis Murphy. We start 3WR, 2 RB. Which trade should I take?
Personally, I don't like either of those trades, but if you feel you need to make one of them, I'd probably do the one for MJD. His upside is way higher than Beanie's, but I don't think you're getting enough value for Johnson in that trade. Beanie just sucks to own (I know, he's on my team), but that trade is a bit fairer. ESPN has reported that the Colts have placed Dallas Clark on IR, so I'm sure it's time for a few of us to find a new tight end. I think I can survive the Clark loss, though my team is certainly weakened. For this week, I have Tony Moeaki of the Chiefs, and while I don't expect huge numbers, I think 40 yds and a TD is reasonable to hope for. I got lucky and when I cut Clark, Owen Daniels was available as a free agent. He seems to be recovering from the ACL injury, and I think he could have a big 2nd half of the season.
I've got a couple questions for the masses: Does anybody know what the story is with Brandon Lloyd? According to NFL.com, he's missed the last couple days of practice but I can't find any news about him anywhere. The only thing I saw was that it was non-injury related, so if a Broncos fan or fellow Lloyd owner could tell me what the hell's going on, I'd appreciate it. My RBs are Forte (WAS), MJD (@KC), McFadden and Michael Bush (both @DEN). Right now I'm obviously starting Forte and am leading towards Bush. McFadden's been hurt so Bush will probably get the majority of the carries and I see KC getting out to a lead and the Jags having to put the ball in the air for much of the game. Am I being an idiot in sitting Jones-Drew?
There hasn't been any speculation on what's going that I've heard on sports radio here in Denver this week. Best guess, is he's just getting a couple of days off. I have heard absolutely nothing about him not playing on Sunday. I plan on starting him for fantasy this week.
Bye weeks have fucked both of my main teams. One team has every single main player on bye, with the exception of Jeremy Maclin and LeSean McCoy. I had to pick up Favre, Woodhead, TE Benjamin Watson (of Cleveland), and Chris Ivory. On my bench is Schaub, Andre Johnson, Jahvid Best, Dustin Keller, and Braylon Edwards. The only guy on my bench who wouldn't usually be a starter is Addai, and that is due to injury. In my other league, I lost Reggie Wayne and Best to byes this week, which isn't so bad, but I happen to have run into a fucking buzz saw in a team that has scored 70 (more than most teams score in an average week) in the first set of games. Fuck. On the bright side, I don't own any Bears players. That game was downright ugly.
A trade got by me as I was tied up with family stuff this weekend. To appease the masses, my league manager note for your reading pleasure: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A Boy and his Turtle: There was a story I found that gained national attention recently. It was a story of human sensibility and social responsibility but most importantly of all: a story of how shit works. For those of you not familiar, young Colton Guthrie of Pensacola FL was a responsible and nurturing pet owner. So much so, he raised a turtle to the point in which it was too large, healthy, and presumably too happy to live a domisticated life so he was donated to a local aquarium park. A donation from the heart and a demonstration of humanity and selflessness; something severely lacking in this day and time. Please find an excerpt for this story below: "A FLORIDA boy remained distraught after watching an alligator feast on his pet turtle...Crunches from the turtle's shell were heard, as the alligator devoured the family's pet..." See, in many ways I feel for Colton. Here I am, nurturing Fantasy Football neophytes to become contemplative, well-oiled competitors. I offer my knowledge and extend my opinions in hopes that one day each of you will grow too large for the confines of my expertise and find refuge in a more comfortable habitat. This is all Colton wanted. This is not too much to ask for. But on the other side of the coin, Colton had this shit coming to him and a part of my being is pointing and laughing my fucking ass off at his tears. Thinking he was doing the right thing, motivated by idyllic impressions that life is only rainbows and puppy dogs. Life does have rainbows and puppy dogs; this cannot be argued. It also has fucking alligators. And guess what, I'm an alligator and those colluding sons of bitches Randy, Atlas, and Ryan are turtles. Apparently after 6 weeks, Atlas (1-5) found an internet connection long enough to not populate his roster fully, but offer Randy (4-2) a block buster trade. Ryan sits to get Roddy White. (Rank, Position) P. Manning (1), R. White (4), C. Benson (18) for C. Palmer (21), B. Wells (66), J. Cribbs (62). And Ryan admits to having prearranged procurring R. White from Randy? Come On Maan. This isn’t a fuckin’ swap meet people, this trade’s not happening.
There aren't a lot of times I'd say no to a trade. The ONLY reason is if it is a blatant bullshit one-sided collusion trade. That, my friends, is a perfect example. That might be the dumbest, most bullshit trade I have ever seen.
I have to get rid of Felix Jones and Marion Barber. Can't believe I drafted these clowns. I haven't started looking into trades, but I could probably drop one or both and pick up Clinton Portis and Chester Taylor off waivers. Thoughts? It's gotta be better than Laurel and Hardy over here, I'm getting so fucking sick of starting these idiots every week. Currently 4-3 and third in my division, behind 5-2 Schindler's Fist and 6-1 You'll Addai on Sunday. The Fist, as he likes to call himself, is my brother in law and has already beaten me once. Payback is on the way.
I would keep Felix Jones myself, but dump Barber. Jones will pick up more yards now that Romo is gone for awhile, since Kitna will be rusty and they won't have him throwing like he did last night. Barber is just a mediocre goal-line running back and fails to pick up points each game he plays. Just my thoughts.
I'm enjoying a 6-0 romp through my league (we didn't start our draft in time for week 1) but I'm trying to solidify my team. I have a solid core of WRs (Collie, Jennings, Nicks, Owens, Woodhead) and RBs (Gore, Foster, McCoy, Benson, Moreno) with Brees as the QB. I was just offered Aaron Rodgers and Jahvid Best for TO and McNabb, my backup QB. Since I've never started Owens or McNabb, I quickly accepted. My question is, should I try to trade Brees for a top level player (He has the same bye as Rodgers and Rodgers is projected to do better almost every week) or keep both and play the matchups? I might be able to snag Chris Johnson for Brees, and he seems like the only player worth trading for (The guy with ADP has Peyton)
Okay, quick question: how many people are in this league? There is no way teams are THAT stacked in a league with more than 8 teams. If you're in a 10 or 12 team league, I'd have to guess that most of the others in said league are completely retarded. Also note that Collie is out for a while. If I were you, given your very solid RBs (You can start any of those guys every single week), I would try to trade Brees for someone like, say, Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, or Roddy White (hell, I'd even include Calvin Johnson in this group). Jennings is a great WR, Nicks is too, but a starting lineup of Rodgers, Jennings, A. Johnson, Nicks, McCoy, and Turner (or whomever, based on matchups) is the kind of sick lineup that can result in you going completely undefeated. Seriously, don't go for Chris Johnson. I don't say that cause he is bad (he sure as shit isn't), I say that because you have so many top-tier RBs that it would be fucking silly. Eventually, one week, someone on your bench will outperform someone you started, and you'll be pissed at yourself. Get another high-end WR, and be happy that you have such a sick team.
2 quick questions...(1) Due to byes and Pierre Thomas not being forthright on his ankle injury, I`m in a pinch. I have Fred Jackson starting Sunday, but Blought is available on waivers. This is a spot start and I shouldn`t need either again. (2) Should I offer Vick, PT, and NO Def for F. Jones, Palmer/Fitzpatrick, and Jets Def? My team is Flacco, Vick, Foster, Bradshaw, Turner, P Thomas, F. Jackson. The WR and others aren`t important to this equation, but he did just lose Romo.
Byes hit me fucking hard this week, on two of my three teams. My money league (here) I have to make sure to get online on Sunday to get place the players I need. This is gonna suck. I plan on losing all three leagues this week, after dominating all three last week. Matt Ryan, Roddy White, please come back to me with fireworks...
Arian Foster, Darren McFadden, Rashard Mendenhall, Felix Jones. Pick three of them. I have 2 RB spots and an offensive flex spot. They all have decently favorable match-ups. Foster blew up on Indy early in the season, I'm guessing they have a better game plan for him now but their D is still petty terrible. He's #1 for RB points in some leagues but I just dunno if I'm sold on him or not. McFadden has had a few monster games this year and a few shitty games so far and is going against a decent Seahawks D. Mendenhall is going against a mediocre Saints D but just hasn't put up a lot of points so far this year. Jones hasn't been all that great this year but should see more touches with Kitna in as QB and the Jacksonville D is arguably the worst in the league.
All of 'em but Felix. I say that because with Romo down and the Cowboys depending on Kitna, I think any half-way intelligent defensive coordinator is going to stack the box against the run and force the Cowboys to throw it, and make Kitna beat them (which, quite frankly, I don't think he is capable of doing at this stage in his career). I fully expect Felix to face the same kind of fronts that Chris Johnson has been facing, in that it will be exceptionally rare for there to be less than 8 men in the box.
Any thoughts on dropping Mark Sanchez for Vincent Jackson? I have Big Ben, Fitzpatrick and Cassell. Start 2 sit 1.
