I got fucking smoked last night by one of the geekiest kids in our league. Talk about a demoralizer... Gore, Desean jackson, alex smith, my defense, and just about every one else on my team sucked huge nuts.. My high scorer was drew brees and he only got me 20 points.. I finished up at around 118-190. Him having Matt Forte killed me. He killed it with 7 receptions 151 yards and two TD's Racking in a huge 60 points game.
My team actually did really well yesterday and I got more than double the points of the person I was playing. The 1:00 games yesterday were great for me with Forte (50 yds rushing, 151 receiving, 2 TD), Welker (62 yds, 2 TD), McFadden (95 rushing, 55 receiving, 1 TD), Reggie Wayne (99 yds, 1 TD) and the Cardinals D/ST. Then it went a little south with Finley (40 something yards), and of course my #1 draft pick Grant getting injured in the second quarter. Romo did alright last night. I have the #1 waiver pick since I had the last pick in my draft. I will probably pick up Brandon Jackson since Grant will be out, and I don't know if McFadden will start next week. I also got an offer from someone that if I pick up Vick, he will trade me Vick for Boldin. But that is only if there is some indication that Vick will be getting more playing time, and as of now it sounds like Reid is staying strong with Kolb. So pissed, this is the second time in only three years of playing fantasy football that my #1 draft pick was injured in the first game (also Brady in 2008).
Its being reported that Ryan Grant is out for the season: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/...n-leg-ankle-injuries-Green-Bay-Packers-091410 If he's available in your league, Brandon Jackson just became a decent addition.
And for those of us who wasted a 2nd round pick on Grant and are stuck at work where they can't access their fantasy football team, this really blows. I know Jackson if probably already gone in my league and he'll definitely be gone by the time I get home. I'm so pissed off. I have Forte and Gore, but my flex spot is going to look fuck off ugly next week.
Here is my team: Q Aaron Rodgers RB Rashard Mendenhall RB Ladanian Tomlinson RB/WR Wes Welker WR Andre Johnson WR Chad Ochocino TE Heath Miller D/ST Steelers K Matt Praeter BN Jonathan Stewart BN Percy Harvin BN Kellen Winslow BN Thomas Jones BN Matt Ryan BN Chad Henne BN Bengals Considering that my RB's are Stewart, Jones, Tomlinson, and Mendenhall would it be a terrible idea if I used a waiver pick to nab Jackson? Or should I save the pick for a Tight End?
What the hell do you want 3 TEs for? And why do you need to hold onto 3 QBs? Pick up Jackson and at worst you could use him for trade bait. You're starting RBs aren't all that enticing either. With Grant out all year Jackson could out-perform all of those guys except maybe Mendenhall. Edit: By the way though, that is a really sick team other than the RB position.
On a side note, I had two live auction drafts this year, as opposed to regular. Autodraft fucked so many people over it was disgusting. Just fucking disgusting. It was great for the people that were there, but the fact you start off with 200, and autodraft will spend 60 on two picks is fucking horrendous. The guy who got Arian Foster was pissed for all of 2 hours before the game came on because no one heard of him. There were many casualties thought I can't even remember. How many people did Live Auction this year?
My current starting lineup: Flacco P. Thomas vs. San Fran M. Turner vs. Arizona A. Foster vs. Washington H. Nicks vs. Ind D. Bryant vs. Chi Zach Miller Saints Def Vinatieri BENCH R. Grant (IR, B. Jackson gone) A. Bradshaw vs. Ind LT2 vs. NE P. Garcon vs NYG M. Floyd vs. JAC P. Harvin vs. MIA 6 points per td all around, .1 points per 10 yards rushing, recieving, kick returning (player), .5 per reception. It's early in the season, but all of my RBs are projected at the same points this week. Personally, I can't bench Foster because of week 1, but I 50-100 game witha td. I can play 2 RBs, 2 WRs, and 1 RB/WR. My starting lineup is what my first inclination to do is, however, I'm staring down Bradshaw this week and trying to justify him to a starting position (Most likely Turner). Help would be greatly appreciated.
WW quick today. I've added Mark Clayton (for Tedd Ginn who is not listed above) vs. Oak, and dropped Ryan Grant for Michael Vick.
Managed to make it through the first week relatively unscathed, and I'm currently looking at the following lineup for week 2 (12 team PPR league): QB: Matt Schaub RB: LeSean McCoy RB/WR: Matt Forte WR: Miles Austin WR/TE: Randy Moss TE: Heath Miller K: Robbie Gould D: Tennessee Bn: Joe Flacco Bn: Fred Jackson Bn: Clinton Portis Bn: Fred Taylor Bn: Caddy Williams Bn: Jabar Gaffney Bn: Mohammed Massquoi Bn: Legedu Naanee My big issue right now is that I'm seriously considering benching Moss this week with the Jets already saying they're going to use Revis on him all game. Combine that with the negativity coming out lately, I'm tempted to sit him this week and give Naanee a chance to shine again in an attempt to step up to the role left open by Jackson in San Diego. Is this stupid?
The people in my league aren't stupid. But I thought, maybe, there was a chance I'd be able to swipe Brandon Jackson despite my waiver wire position of 10/12. Maybe the people in front of me haven't watched ESPN recently, or are having a busy week at work, or are set at RB, or are just plain lazy. Who knows? Crazier things have happened. And then I log onto ESPN.com this morning and see they're basically sponsored by the Brandon Jackson For Fantasy 2010 campaign. Fuck. Off. My 2-year-old cousin probably knows at this point he'd need to pick up Brandon Jackson if he had a fantasy football team. Oh well. I'm trying to add Peyton Hillis as a consolation. God knows I need a running back, as Brandon Jacobs has bitched/sucked ass his way into 35 percent of the Giants' carries. I can't wait to wake up tomorrow morning and see what's processed...
Bad, Awful or Horrendous? I have to start a second WR- Braylon Edwards Percy Harvin Brandon Lloyd Any ideas?
You might want to go with Lloyd, he had the best performance of the three this week. I still think Harvin will probably get some points against Miami this week though, that's who I'm starting. I'm debating starting Jamal Charles. My running backs are Jonathan Stewart and Marion Barber and they nabbed five points combined. They stunk up the joint. Charles brought in 16 points... can he keep it up? KC is at Cleveland this week, he can probably have another great game. What do you think?
Charles is an every-week back. I'd start him over Barber every single week until Dallas figures its shit out. Lloyd. Edwards is a guy who needs the long ball. Only two problems: no one to throw the ball to him, and when they DO throw the ball to him, there is a 50/50 chance he drops it. Harvin's head might explode at any time, and teams know that the way to beat Minnesota is to beat the ever-loving shit out of Favre, and I suspect every single team is going to do that. Plus, Favre and Harvin were NOT on the same page. Shaincoe is the only receiving option in Minnesota I trust.
I just had my draft (yay for the one team who didn't add in until last Sunday!) and I can't tell if I've created a mega team or overvalued certain players. Here's a look, 8 teams, standard Yahoo scoring. 1. (7) Frank Gore RB 2. (10) Drew Brees QB 3. (23) Arian Foster RB 4. (26) Greg Jennings WR 5. (39) Cedric Benson RB 6. (42) Malcom Floyd WR 7. (55) Hakeem Nicks WR 8. (58) Knowshon Moreno RB 9. (71) LeSean McCoy RB 10. (74) Jason Witten TE 11. (87) Santana Moss WR 12. (90) Donovan McNabb QB 13. (103) Mike Williams WR (TB) 14. (106) Dallas DEF 15. (119) Jeff Reed K My internet shit the bed, so I was autopicked Gore.
My fantasy team in a very small league among friends for shits and giggles: Tom Brady Adrian Peterson Rashard Mendenhall Donald Driver Marquese Colston Steve Smith - Giants Dallas Clark Mason Crosby New England Defense ----Backups---- Joe Flacco Jacoby Jones Piere Garcon Brandon Jacobs Heath Miller Green Bay Defense
What kind of league is this, a Thai math club? Did you get the first six picks? How in the world do you BENCH Jamaal Charles AND Javed Best?? I really want to meet the people in your league, so I can join next year. That's crazy.
DeSean Jackson or Terrell Owens? The Eagles are going against the Lions, but Vick LOVES to run and he looks hungrier than a fat girl at a KFC buffet. Then again, all off-season we heard about the Raven's having a weak secondary and it is Carson Palmer, 85 and 81, with a solid TE and everything else.
I picked up Mike Vick this week off waivers but I've already PeyPey and Romo at QB (2QB League), what's fair value for everybody's favorite puppy killer? A WR2? a Flex Player?
Would you guys start Jahvid Best this week? He didn't run for a lot of yards last week, and the Tigers are playing Philly who has a pretty good defense. Right now I'm leaning towards starting Nate Washington (TENN-WR) or Devin Aromashodu (CHI-WR). What do you guys think?
