Thomas is a bit of a toss up. Neither seems particularly reliable right now - one's a rookie, and the other has Luke McCown throwing at him. It's certainly not a stupid trade. Whoever took the other side of McGahee for Ingram has no business playing fantasy football.
Here is my second team. 10 team league, standard scoring. I picked 7th. 7 LeSean McCoy, Phi RB 14 Hakeem Nicks, NYG WR 27 Miles Austin, Dal WR 34 LeGarrette Blount, TB RB 47 Tony Romo, Dal QB 54 Anquan Boldin, Bal WR 67 Beanie Wells, Ari RB 74 Owen Daniels, Hou TE 87 Chad Ochocinco, NE WR 94 Daniel Thomas, Mia RB 107 Kevin Kolb, Ari QB 114 C.J. Spiller, Buf RB 127 Chargers D/ST D/ST 134 Nate Burleson, Det WR 147 Delone Carter, Ind RB 154 Sebastian Janikowski, Oak K Overall, I am happier with this team than I am with my PPR team. I really hate the Cowboys, but I decided to leave my prejudices behind for this draft.

I don't know how or why, but my league at work has fucking bye weeks for each individual team. For instance, my fantasy team is not competing week 1 or week 5. WTF?
I'm assuming you have an odd number of teams in your league. Should have gotten that mouthbreather in the cubicle over to drop out.
My ESPN league did this to my 12 team league that I run as well. It randomly had either 2 or 4 teams with byes every week. No idea how or why, and I'm sure I would have easily missed it if another player in said league notified me that it had happened to his ESPN league. Sooo, your league manager may not even know... might want to ask him. I had to go through and manually edit the schedule so that each team played each week.
Quick-hit question for starting lineup week 1. This is a PPR league, standard scoring otherwise. I need to start 2 of the following 3: Knowshon Moreno Shonn Greene Ahmad Bradshaw Any input or thoughts are appreciated.
Could it be that your regular season is longer than nine weeks, meaning there would be a team you would have to play twice if you didn't have bye weeks? If so, I can see why leagues would want to avoid this as it might be unfair for one team to play the best team in the league twice while someone else would get to play the worst team in the league twice.
I could use some input on who to start in my flex spot for week 1. It's a ppr league. Thomas Jones Deangelo Williams Mike Sims-Walker Right now I'm leaning towards Sims-Walker, but Thomas Jones was solid in fantasy last year. What do you guys think.
14-team non-PPR league, should I start Santana Moss over Hines Ward this week in my WR2 slot? Or replace Ryan Mathews at W/R with one and put them both in? I'm leaning toward Moss since he's the Redskins #1 reciever, and I'm kind of afraid Mathews' production is gonna get dampened a bit by Tolbert, but at the same time Ward is kind of old and definitely seemed to slow down last season. I'd appreciate some guidance
I'd take Deangelo Williams in a heartbeat. I'd sit on Thomas Jones until you see how well Charles holds up, and Sims-Walker is unreliable...Amendola is the only WR I'd take in STL. Williams is likely to be the lead guy on a team that has a rookie for a QB. I think you're right on this one. Moss is going to get some numbers, especially against a Giants D that has been depleted by injuries in a big way this preseason. And Ward is not only old, he's old on a team that has a lot of young, fast receiving talent. I'd play Moss and Matthews if it was me.
personally, I would go with Moreno and Bradshaw. Green is playing tougher D and still needs to prove himself because he was a bust last season.
The two fantasy teams that were drafted by my wife. This was the first unassisted draft she's ever done. Small Money (3rd Pick Overall, Standard with Flex) QB: M. Ryan, D. McNabb RB: C. Johnson, C. Benson, T. Hightower, B. Tate WR: L. Fitzgerald, D. Bowe, Julio Jones, J. Gaffney, R. Meachem TE: V. Davis, G. Olsen K: J. Brown DST: Oakland Big Money (7th Pick Overall, Keeper, Standard with PPR, IDP) QB: M. Schaub, R. Fitzpatrick RB: A. Peterson, B. Green Ellis, T. Hightower, L. Tomlinson WR: C. Johnson, A. Boldin, M. Thomas, C. Ochocinco TE: M. Lewis IDP: James Harrison DST: Bears K: S. Gostkowski Let's see how this works out, not too confident but not too bitter either.
16 team league, picked second in a league wide autodraft. 2 Ray Rice, Bal RB 31 Felix Jones, Dal RB 34 Shonn Greene, NYJ RB 63 Tim Hightower, Wsh RB 66 Josh Freeman, TB QB 95 Sam Bradford, StL QB 98 Mike Thomas, Jac WR 127 Aaron Hernandez, NE TE 130 Jacoby Ford, Oak WR 159 Davone Bess, Mia WR 162 Mike Sims-Walker, StL WR 191 Justin Forsett, Sea RB 194 LaRod Stephens-Howling, Ari RB 223 Brandon Jackson*, Cle RB 226 Dolphins D/ST D/ST 255 Robbie Gould, Chi K Just dropped Jackson and picked up Deverey Henderson. Any thoughts or advice?
Why the hell did you draft so many RBs so early? Do you start more than 2 RBs? Keep Rice, then trade one of those RBs for a better WR, because your WRs are absolutely awful. Seriously, most of those guys are number 3 WRs on any other fantasy team, if that. Also, I am not at all high on Freeman as a fantasy QB. As a real life QB that protects the ball? Absolutely. As a fantasy slinger? Nope. They're a run-first, conservative, protect-the-ball offense. I think there will be weeks where he is held without a TD (although no turnovers) and in fantasy, that can absolutely kill you for that week. Bradford is a wait-and-see kind of deal. However, at that point, I feel like better options (Cassel or Stafford) were likely available. Give it a week or two, and see if you can't combined one of those two QBs with a RB to trade up to someone like Schaub or Romo, who I think will give you MUCH better numbers. I know it was autodraft, but I feel like autodraft absolutely fucked you.
I'm high on Felix, Hightower, and Shonn Greene, but at the same time, your WR aren't good at all. I'd highly recommend waiting until week 1 is over, and seeing which of those three performs best, then SELL HIGH on that guy. I think Felix will be good for the long-haul, but will have a rough week against a tough jets D. My guess is Hightower does good this week, giving you a chance to sell high on him for a good WR or packaging him with Freeman for a good QB. Then, watch as Hightower falls off (Shanahan is awful in terms of being predictable with his RB splits, as he changes them constantly) and Felix explodes. Again, that is all speculative, but that is what I would do in your position.
Would I be crazy to start Danny Amendola over Santonio Holmes? It's a PPR league, and he seems likely to get a few more receptions. They play SF and Dallas respectively, neither vaunted pass defenses.
