I can't say I'm disappointed with my results. I guess it's all in what you want in life.

Cause everybody is eager to buy up land in the middle of buttfuck nowhere. You know, like those people.

Who want to, like, you know, live in the middle of buttfuck nowhere. That's why the land is buying up so fast. You know, like Facebook stock.

It's not glamorous land. But with government subsidies[that I do not support] is it pretty profitable land. I guess that's both good and bad.

    Also.

Nothing like a little candle light and some Phil Collins. And a lot of sarcasm.

Seriously? Is there ANY context that would make that ok?

I'm only going off the description, as I'm not OCD enough to click a link like that.

TLP had some great posts about this. Compared it to spam vs. ham, as an analogy for quantity vs. quality of emotion in a relationship. If you're in a dysfunctional, fighting relationship, yelling and fighting a lot is spam. Sure, it's not ham, but you can survive on it.

Sounds like my dad's parenting techniques, come to think of it.

    Still single, ladies.

What counts as buttufck nowhere? Any city that doesn't perpetually have a ghetto bird spotlighting the bad neighbourhoods at night?

There are LOTS of people who want to go rural: myself included. I never got the thrillnof living in a box with other box people. I love the city, but it's for visiting whenever I want to, not for living inside. I did the apartment thing and grew tired of it. I'd rather have a huge property where you never have to worry about thieves or any noise whatsoever, and where light pollution hasn't eliminated the sky at night.

When I say that, I don't mean "living in Lowerasscrackylvania" where they still hunt with muskets, but just a few miles out of the city where the plows still run.

I miss living on land, grew up on a ranch and it's still hard for me to live in close proximity to people. It's never truly quiet in the city. I love Denver, it's a beautiful, well maintained city but I would much prefer a few acres and some fucking space to breathe.

If I was well off, could live and work anywhere, I'd probably pick up a ranch in Eagle, Colorado. It'd be more towards Glenwood Canyon than Vail. It'd be amazing to have 30 acres out there.

I couldn't wait to get away from the country. Growing up on a farm was nice, but it drove me crazy after a while. Then again going to a college that's based heavily on farm land in the middle nowhere didn't help either.

I love city life, but I bet I'll settle back down in a more rural environment at some point. I won't do suburbs.

I live out in the country. The closest town to me is 5 miles away and has 130 people. The next one over is 11 miles away and has 5,300 people. My closest neighbor is three quarters of a mile away. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Probably for the best that people like us stay away from the rest of civilization, anyways.

My family has land that's been handed down from my grandparents, and my parents recently purchased 200 acres that my great-grandparents lived on back in the day, putting it back in the family. There's still a stove and remnants of an outhouse. Plan is to clean it up and put a trailer out there so we can go out and enjoy it on weekends. It's really fucking pretty and peaceful...love seeing the stars. You can't see stars in the city.

My dad is from a little town north of where they live now and the property has been in the family for generations. My mom and dad have spend many, many weeks over the past 6 months or so fixing up one of the houses so that it can be the country vacation home. There are bedrooms downstairs and a finished attic up top, and the plan is to line the attic with twin sized beds for the grandkids if we all go up there together. I have so many fond memories of that place, it would be a shame to deprive the next generation of that.
