    Great.

The Canadians are all huddled in the back room of some hipster bar in Toronto and the rest of you are slurring into a microphone and all I have is wine.

You know, I was never anything short of impressed with the timing of that chainsaw drop.

I don't recall that scene from the book and I have not seen the movie. But then, I read the book in 1993 or so, so perhaps I've forgotten the violence in a wash of Huey Lewis propaganda.

Yeah, that was a movie-only moment. And I skipped that whole Huey Lewis schpiel when I read it. I'd be goddamned if I was going to sit through his indulgent nostalgia for that cocaine-fueled neo-doowop shit. Power of love, my white ass.

Ellis hit his peak with Less Than Zero. American Psycho is a nice coda, but, let's be fair, the guy shot his wad in the late 80s.

I actually enjoy all of his works, including Lunar Park which seems to put me in the minority. But I agree, I felt Less Than Zero was his best.

I would, but most of the words coming out of my mouth right now are vitriolic rants at my Xbox, and that's not conducive to regular conversations.

Lunar Park is my favorite. I grew out of that stream of consciousness solipsistic shit. Love American Psycho. That was one of the first real books I got into. By the time I got done Glamorama Ellis' style drove me fucking batty. He writes like a jackass - except the sex scenes, which were awesome. Lunar Park was actually a really adept, personal horror story with an actual plot. Pretty damn tight book.

I'm watching The Shining on BBC right now. Shelly Duval might be the most unattractive thing on the planet. Burn victims have been more blessed by God. It's like someone stuck her head in a panini sandwich press and replaced her teeth with plastic novelty Asian teeth.
