    I am making a casserole tonight for my family. I have the major ingredients picked out, but I can't use onion soup mix because my niece is gluten intolerant and I can't use regular milk because I'm lactose intolerant. I'm trying to figure out how to swing this. Tips please!

    These commercials for 2 Broke Girls are awful. The show looks like the Suite Life of Zach and Cody meets diarrhea.

    Surprisingly, though, Zooey Deschanel's new show is pretty watchable. Although I might have formed that opinion because I was very drunk when I watched it, but it seemed okay.

    Oh, I forgot about that one. I usually don't start watching new shows until either the first season is over and I see what's worth my time/ people I know (or people from here) rave about shows (Louie, Game of Thrones), and I pick those up.

    I've been of this opinion for a while. Probably a terribly unpopular one, but I don't think we should have a Drunk thread every week. When's the last time you saw some new blood in one of these? They just make the whole forum seem like 15 people sitting on their computers and drinking. Which is mostly true anyway, but we can at least pretend, right?

    I may be drunk. There's a regatta on my lake today, and my cute Scottish guest convinced me to go play Scotland the Brave on my dock wearing my fur hat, while going Regimental. Without the kilt.

    It seems to have pissed off quite a few of the snobby kayakers

    Mission accomplished.

    Moving to Montreal might not be an option, but a necessity.

    I actually can see that on the one hand, but on the other, what is the harm in it? Nobody is forcing anybody to read them. Maybe the mods just need to have another "the 100th post here wins a prize" thing. I doubt that anybody would be fighting for the rights to bump threads though. It's an art. I am as guilty as anybody in contributing to the current trend, I can't remember the last time I suggested a thread topic, and often don't have time to respond during the week with an intelligent and well thought out, well written response. More times than not, I just don't bother.

    I'm sorry TiB, I am letting you all down.

    Speaking of new shows, once again, this may just be the booze talking, but I watched Whitney on Friday night and actually enjoyed it. I am still on the fence about the Zoey Deschanel show.

    Hmm, maybe I was reaching too much . . . this is what I saw:
    I remember this commercial that showed a guy in a wheelchair looking at the street crossing sign change to "Walk." He looked dismayed, like, "Nah, dude, I can't walk, even when the light turns green." Now, the signs don't say walk / don't walk - they have either a red hand / green man, or some other such thing. Soooo, I thought it was funny. But, I guess that's not what you meant.

    I don't know if the WDT are detrimental to weekday threads but the bumpage of threads has waned a bit. I'd like to see the court thread bumped, I saw some crazy shit when waiting in court during my DUI trial....


    I thought TV shows were on the swing back towards a majority of shows being better than not. Shit there are countless great shows, AMC and HBO leading the pack. I was even becoming complacent with "reality" shows. But the new wave of shows devoted to hillbilly pastimes (noodlin, hoggin, crocin, guns). They still just do derivative shit, Pawn Star's is a hit so we get 5 knock offs. Somehow Jersey Shore still entertains me more than the rest of them. I demand quality in my shit programming damnit!

    Anyone catch Pan Am and Playboy Club? Are they as bad knock offs of Mad Men as I'd expect them to be?

    I can see where you're coming from. I was hesitant to get involved in the threads because I was afraid I wouldn't get all the jokes, but then I figured what the hell. It's the only place I can get drunk in my pajamas and still go to bed at a reasonable hour without people making fun of me for it.
