Re: Great Moments in RMMB History It was the avatar. It is something that happens in your mind that makes you associate the image in the avatar with the person. Although correct me if I am wrong shegirl, but didn't everyone think you were black until you outed your self on some ginger thread?
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History I second this. I looked back at all of Soylent Green's posts awhile ago. There is no Marine in history that did everything he said. Hell, the schools alone would take 4-8 years to complete with deployment schedules. As I recall, some of the units he said he served with didn't exist at the time he said he was with them. Good luck with this endeavor, all you new mods.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Pale is the new tan. I had actually forgotten that about Soylent (or Tom wasn't it?) He asked me to call him one night on "his drive home from the office"...riiiiight. You mean to tell me that's not you in yours?!?
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Definitely agree with whoever mentioned MidgetBigot. I remember some of her stuff being great back in the day. KFM also had some good stuff back when he posted a lot. And regardless of the Tucker hate that has been going around this thread, the board was the best when he was posting two threads per day, from like 2004-2006. I think what I liked best about the old board was that even though 95% of it was pointless time killer, I feel like I actually learned something from the other 5%. Mostly random facts that I would be able to spout off about from time to time, but facts nonetheless.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Have you posted anything in this thread that wasn't directly related to yourself?
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Was around since the old board... 1) The tucker vs Drex In N Out vs JITBX fast food argument 2) BrianH's original whore rants 3) Anything from Slingblade and KFM was funny 4) Older Caption contests 5) Ask a Cripple Thread 6) Twinkletoez 7) The how do you wipe thread 8) Advice board The usual military/guns thread. Plenty more, though can't remember all, but it was a good time. RIP RMMB/TMMB.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History I don't know about him, but I did crawl through a river of shit and came out clean on the other side. But enough about the old board.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Well, two great moments stand out for me on the old TMMB/RMMB. 1. The Cloud Starchaser thread. Cloud and the whole Heroic Destiny Squad was brilliant... crackin' beers with Nepalanese ambassadors and Tibetan monks, all in the name of world peace and righteous hangovers. Loved the name Clapton von Hendrix III. High point was Cloud putting down KungFu Mike outside a bar in New York. Cloud had Mike pinned to the ground, screaming "You're my bitch Mike! You're my bitch!" Slarvey kindly coaxed Cloud off of Mike that it had gone far enough and was over. Cloud gets up, Mike gets up and throws a head butt. Slarvey later posts on the board that Cloud did have Mike in a headlock, but Mike reversed it. In one of his few displays of wisdom (having noticed Cloud's cameraman) Mike stays quiet online. A few days later, Cloud posts a video of the fight and reveals Slarvey to be a massive reconstructionist of the truth. nettdata edit:Think happy thoughts already.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History nettdata edit: Some people won't get that it was rhetorical and will respond. Let's just drop it.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History My favorite moment was, hands down, the calling out of that guy. I can't remember his name. He was constantly talking about his hot wife and posting pictures of "himself" and his tiny little fucking dog. What was his name? He got called out for cheating on his wife with a board member via phone sex or something and then it turned out his entire life was made up. I swear to god, he posted more pictures of that stupid dog than his "hot wife." A little dog with little fucking dog shoes. How sad do you have to be to pick THAT as your ideal e-persona?
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Someone may have mentioned it in passing, but... "I'm a bartender, in the industry" in a tipping thread that went berserk was amazing. I believe at one point his real cell phone number was up.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Most people will probably not remember the unintentional hilarity that was applelover. This was some kid who thought Tucker would give him a job on Rudius media for his writing and awesome stories. The only problem was that all his awesome stories usually consisted of him getting rejected by hookers, throwing rocks into windows, and hanging out with total idiots. His whole persona exuded the aura that he couldn't tell people that people were laughing at him. Totally not self-aware. Shame. His two posts were awesome. Or terrible. Or awesible.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History I thought the Bob Jones University student answering questions from the deviants on the board was classic. I haven't yet repented my sins so I'm still headed to hell. I'll just recant on my deathbed.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History One of my best moments came by way of a PM from Pimptress, where she was candid about the sexuality of her younger years while belonging to a rather strict and nontypical(?) religion. It made my Catholic School Girl fantasies a thing of the past. One of my saddest moments came about when I realized I hadn't saved that PM.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Miss me? Hey Catheter (or whatever your name is) -- Start an Idiot Board Promotion thread so I can do shit like this every now and again: Death Becomes Real (Maxim, November 2009) - October 18, 2009 When reality star Ryan Jenkins stopped acting polite, murder followed... READ MORE HERE Thanks, Ebner
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History I joined the other board around 2004-2005, posted up until around late 2006, and lurked thereafter. Say what you want about Tucker for closing the board, but god damn that place was entertaining, educational, and depraved all at once. Many thanks to him for starting it up, and to Chater for keeping the ball rolling. Anyways, shame on all of you for going 12 pages and not ONCE mentioning the furry thread ("Sick Fuckers", I believe). That was fucking... surreal. If you missed that one, go dig it up on the old archive. Just make sure to clear 3-4 hours out of your schedule -- you'll be there for a while. Actually, any thread where the people being mocked showed up to take their lumps were all classics. Some were just epic meltdowns, but a few managed to hold their own and make it entertaining. Other greatest hits (mainly from around the time I was active): - Dead hooker haikus - Book tour updates - Weekly caption contests (died off over the last few years, sadly) Here's to the new beginning...
