Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Given this is the Great Moments in RMMB History thread, this seems apropros.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Eh, I was hoping Luke or Jordan were around to help me with html embedding...
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Code: The Idiot Board does this The Idiot Board
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History My faves were mentioned by Elo, Adjust and others. I stuck around for six and a half years to watch the drama spill into real life. BrianH's comment about her being handcuffed to the bannister had me laughing. People were awesomely willing to be balls out within the earliest boards. For what it is worth, a suggestion from someone who saw nearly the entire board evolution and crash. Be consistent here with your efforts. You're already starting to resemble the hypocrisy of the last two years that drove so many of us away. Someone takes a stand against bashing former mods and members and even edits a few posts to the point. Yet, I read at least a half dozen posts detailing the unfortunate looks of a former poster who I don't remember ever hurt a fly. In my opinion, the best part of the original to old boards is that there was some sense of equality. If you fucked up, regardless of status, you were called out with no other incident but a possible flame war... Unless you were Rosh, txtbook, sirenx or whoever. Aside from the members only board/mod board, there wasn't any overt posturing, control issues, or favoritism like popped up from 06 until last week. If you say no bad mouthing, enforce it for everyone or you are just going to end up with the exact same esteem-driven hierarchy that fueled the demise of TMMB. Also, specifically funny, xgatax and joethefat becoming the poster children (literally) for why people from the board shouldn't meet when cameras are present.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History I liked the asperger's and tourette's syndrome thread and Tyler Knight relating his experiences in porn, though I wasn't around in the early days and missed the "glory years". The only recent board fued that I noticed and found mildly entertaining was when a guy named SuitJacket enraged a bunch of mods on the advice board a few months ago.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History The blind sycophantism definitely got worse towards the end. That video was hilarious though. But he shed a single tear, even as he ground away at his poor ficus, unable to control his impulses. Do you not feel his pain? Welcome back, buddy.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History I call bullshit on Ballsack 3.0, please someone tell me this is an elaborate joke from another member pretending to be him? I refuse to believe someone would actually post what has been posted in this thread.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Ah christ, making this guy "Grind" a moderator reduces the entire messageboards credibility. But really, whatever. Hopefully the kid can keep his cool and not become a self-indulgent dick. I've followed the TMMB since '04 and it has LOADS of entertainment in its userbase, I look forward to seeing it continue.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History The BrianH callout. That was Hilarious and tragic and sad and brilliant all rolled into one. Whenever I got depressed about my own life I'd read that thing and it would cheer me up. It was also an awesome example of how to destroy your enemy in one fell swoop. I'd like to add that it's pretty damn impressive that BrianH manned up, took his knocks and got the whole thing resolved. That's pretty fucking hardcore after such a savage beating.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History I'm surprised no one mentioned the thread where that guy wanted to do a MMF threesome and it turned into a huge flame war with sides being taken and everyone either calling people pervs, fags, homophobes, freaks etc. Highly entertaining. I posted once in that thread and then got the fuck out of the way.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Any of the legit Wahoos were hilarious. Cloud Starchaser happened right after I joined and I still marvel at his level of delusion. The 'how do you wipe your ass' thread basically wins the internet. My favorite thing about the old board though was the endless threads of nonstop whore prattle, call-outs, hatefests, military posers (funny how no one lies about being a mechanic in the army, they're always a SEAL or SF), fat people, hairbrush rape justification, why the south sucks, why new jersey sucks, why jack in the box is better than in and out, working with retards, living with cripples, sleeping with alcoholics and drug addicts with bipolar disorder, etc. With such a diverse and screwed up lot, there were always a few posts in any thread that either made me cry laughing or step back and say "holy shit really?" Hopefully that trend will continue. That's what made the old place funny and entertaining.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Oh, they're still out there, claiming victory in the aftermath of the movie and the RMMB closing. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1220628/board/thread/149823410 Perhaps we should send them an invite?
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Being less pretentious than that guy isn't much of an accomplishment.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History That was him. I don't remember the cheating on his wife thing though. He'd always post the pictures of his "wife" in the pic threads, and then one day I'm pretty sure SLF caught him by finding basically Hans' entire photo gallery (plus more that he hadn't posted yet) uploaded to some semi-obscure gallery on flickr or something. No matter what, it was pretty comical. Those pictures of his fake wife were pretty hot though.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History The Soylent Green call-out had to happen, but, I must say, it was kind of painful. Who the fuck fakes being deployed?! It had to happen, though.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History That was another thing about the old board that I loved, and I think Annabanana already said it more eloquently than I ever could (paraphrased) "Sometimes posters just need to get kneecapped." The posters, many of whom have migrated here, just didn't tolerate the bullshit. From a mainly lurkers perspective, once one of the veteran posters or mods started to smell something fishy they would go to extreme lengths to ferret out the bullshitter and expose him/her.
