Re: Great Moments in RMMB History I disagree. Every mod or mod sycophant that let the rubber stamp of validation from Tucker go to his or her head, followed by hypocritically violating the various principles they would condescendingly expose during the near daily bullying of dissenting users deserves mockery. Most users that posted on TMMB/RMMB eventually got bitch slapped by an untouchable moderator, who might have been in the right, or might just be off her meds; just because some of us were smart enough to keep our heads down (especially during the monumental meltdown we've all witnessed) doesn't mean we didn't see just how sick most of the place had become. The old board in its final Tucker-less* days became a masturbatory reminder for a small but active and vocal group of mods that they were in fact special, smart, and above all cool. It was so rich to regularly see some power tripping moderator going on about how the board was an insignificant community for anyone with a real social life when a quick glance to the left would reveal thousands of posts, and an intricately selected avatar/sub message/signature. Or rhetorically engaging the peanut gallery along the lines of "Why can't we just be decent well adjusted human beings?" when two threads down he or she was telling a different poster to kill himself. Fuck each and every one of those clowns. Not every mod was a broken hypocritical draconian joke, but a lot of them were, and they rampaged unchecked for what was going on two years before the end. *I honestly think he kept a lot of people in check in those days, you know, back before he forgot everything he ever 'taught' and became so drunk on his own delusions of grandeur that he became exactly the talentless profiteering salesman he claimed to be bringing down with his revolution.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Bitter much? You guys act like you were political prisoners or something over there, having your rights violated. Like the moderators all had an annual convention to discuss evil plans. They were just a few people with the power to delete posts and if they didn't like yours on a particular moment, they might have decided to do away with your five lines of text. So what? It was a message board. If you didn't like how it was ran, why didn't you just sign off?
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History I figured I'd get something like this. How I felt about how the site was run is not one of two states. I liked it, I liked it enough to read it regularly, that said I disagreed with parts of how it was run, but obviously not enough to stop participating. I'm not bitter, but I will mock hypocrites that up until now had the luxury of being able to Fuck You Ban anyone that didn't tow the party line. If I'm the only one that felt this way I'm ok with it, to be honest it was pretty cathartic to put into words what I'd been feeling for a good long while. If that pisses you off, well, fuck you.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History I'm not saying you're right or wrong in your opinion on the former mods over there. What I'm saying is that dwelling on it and posting it here is not conducive to the atmosphere we're trying to create and ultimately serves no purpose but the gossip mongering that follows petty drama. We're not going to put a gag order on talking about the TMMB obviously, but this isn't the place to gripe about how things went on over there.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History The Michael Crook Fallout Thread was epic. I did about a dozen Michael Crook photoshop manipulations for that thread, half of which were deleted by photobucket.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History You think that's bad, wait'll you should see me naked. No more talk of the past mods unless you have a funny story as pertains to the focus of the thread. Lets all move forward.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History On the Advice Board, while I enjoyed reading the majority of mod responses, both KungFuMike and Savage Henry were especially awesome, albeit for completely different reasons.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History I remember a while back someone made a comment that the RMMB had its own Legion of Doom of previously wahooed members, and I made an appropriate photoshop to go with it. I'll see if I can track that down. I thought it might have been because of a particularly scathing review he made of the movie. Either way, yeah, I want to know this too. Grind, weigh in? Savage Henry was one of the mods who I'm going to legitimately miss, unless he for some reason comes over here. Fun Fact: Mentioning the TV show Firefly in a post was practically an automatic rep point from him. Scootah's "Ask a Pervert" thread was also one of the more... enlightening pieces I've ever read. Similarly, I enjoyed Tyler Knight's thread. Yeah, yeah, I'm repressed, fuck you.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History It was fairly recent, but I was a fan of the Rant & Rave Thread: Visualized thread...there were some damn funny pictures in there.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History • Say what you fuckers will about Boozy, that motherfucker was funny. I can't recall exactly which thread it was but he must have deleted almost a hundred posts on it and under the reason for deletion he posted some of the funniest shit the board had ever read. I had it bookmarked for the longest time. • SoylentGreen's Guide to Fisting. • Negative's Prison Primer. That was golden. • The NYE's ghetto wine tasting party. • The All Star thread that had those illustrations of soldiers making hand gestures and everyone posting their captions to it. • The day Hate had a nervous breakdown because thousands of people were PM him. • Foxman, the hedge fund manager. God his stories sucked donkey balls. • The day I found out DietCokeHead was White. I know there is a ton more.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Savage Henry was an outstanding moderator and poster for a number of different reasons, ranging from his technical expertise to his articulate writing, and I certainly hope he finds, and occasionally posts on this new place. Those two were classics, and remind me of the "Negative/BryonHadley's Ask a Prison Guard" topic. Damn, people posted some good shit there.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History A favorite moment in RMMB history of mine: It wasn't any one moment, but the permanent threads for members and ex-members of the service to discuss related topics was really cool, I feel like I got more disciplined just from proximity to that salty bunch.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Forgive me, it's been a while... There are two RMMB events that come to mind, but not enough so that I remember any names. They occurred a few years ago, probably 2006 or so. 1. The 18 yr old girl who signed up for the forum and promptly made an ass of herself. She made it known early on that she had done some soft-core porn, mostly tits, and linked to the evidence (either that or someone found it). She swore she would only do topless photos, nothing hardcore, because deep down she had a heart of gold or some shit. Of course, a few months later someone found a video of her funneling the hog of what looked like a Medicare-aged hobo. 2. The guy who had a beef with TM and who later signed a legal agreement to get a vasectomy. He was later punched in the mouth by KungFu Mike at some party in NYC (tanked for the troops, maybe).
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Oh fuck, I forgot about Namxof and his "I ejaculate more money than you would see in 10 lifetimes" persona. And I still want to remember the name of that kid that drew the comics that everyone said were awesome, even though he was an illiterate twat. It took one mod to tell everyone how dumb they were, and then everyone jumped shit and ragged on him.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History Nirvannaslave5000. I was just looking at the archive of that last night. I have to say that one was also m favorite.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History The day that DCH, suapyg, and Savage Henry joined the board. I went out of my way to read anything those guys ever posted. And, the QuarterLifeCrisis Wahoo, that was a fuckin' classic.
Re: Great Moments in RMMB History My 3 favorite moments were when Doug, Nils and I (back when we were all just new members) ganged up on Gigi over the course of 2 days (in 2003) and thoroughly convinced her she was a complete whore with a HUGE back..... when I got into a throw down flame war with that stripper SirenX (also back in one of the first incantations of the board) that ended with her melting down and disappearing from the board forever..... and when I spent the last 5 days telling everyone to go fuck themselves to hide my pain.
