Those Eastern Bloc countries are nuts, there are tons of videos like this: Anytime you can get fucking vertigo and shaky hands from watching a video, someone is doing something pretty impressive.
I just picked up Joe Satriani's latest, 'Unstoppable Momentum.' Wow, I feel like I've been living gluten free for years and just had a big bowl of pasta and fucked a gingerbread lady. Nice to hear some straight ahead rock again.
Right, exactly. And because guys are so simple minded, we're completely incapable of separating out when we should say jokingly belittling things to guy friends that we're hanging out with, and when we should say soul-crushingly awful things to strangers on the internet. Right? I mean, I know that I regularly tell my mother to go fuck herself, just like I do with the guys I hang out with. My girlfriend? I always tell her she's an ugly waste of skin - it's so hilarious! Sometimes, I even insinuate that she's fat, because the guys I drink with always laugh when I tell them they're lard-asses. It's just guy talk, so if she gets upset, I shrug it off and tell her to "grow a pair."
Even so, I feel like people on here are way more respectful than TMMB/RMMB. With that board you had a much larger membership and could much more easily hide behind the anonymity. On here theres probably about 25-30 regular posters (aside from the casual, less frequent ones) that have been regs for the last few years and have established an internet rapport. Its a little bit different. Yeah theres the occasional spat over the political topic du jour, but by-and-large its much more civil than TMMB/RMMB ever was.
I don't miss the cooldude RMMB wannabe jackasses and I don't miss whiney mods that would ban anybody for daring to disagree with them. I felt that was the two worst elements of the old board. I DO miss the traffic and amount of new topics, though. Having tens of thousands of members guaranteed at least two new threads per day.
So this is the new viral video everyone on facebook is posting. Personally I'd grow a glassy eyed thousand yard stare too if my students talked in half assed ebonics like this kid does. Yo. Edit: Once again my imbedding skills fail.
Re: Re: Hilo Borrachos de Fin de Semana, Cinco de Mayo Ditto. These month-long drunk threads are sucking the life out of this place. Can we call up one of the more tech-savvy idiots to resolve the bot issue in the suggestions thread? There are a bunch of good topics in there that are going to waste because they're buried by bot crap.
Re: Re: Hilo Borrachos de Fin de Semana, Cinco de Mayo Maybe DCC could allow Nettdaddy to access the board from the dungeon long enough to fix the issue. That is what happened to him, right?
The future looks very dim when you see things like this. A teacher, clearly on autopilot; a classroom full of kids that appears to be the definition of apathy and a student who wants better but at what must be 16 or 17 can barely speak English.
His level of English was fine. It's really hard to come up with awesome sentences under pressure (confronting someone) like that. I'm a teacher, but I side with the kid on this one. His point was clear, made a lot of sense, and came from his heart. He also stayed polite and composed the whole time. I've seen enough dumb cows like the teacher in the video in my lifetime to know she's probably the one at fault here.
This is in a school close to me, and one of my clients attended this high school not long ago. It's not surprising that someone needed to say it, and serious props to the kid who did. I hope he's not labeled as a troublemaker and removed from class forever. He's begging for someone to show that they care about him and his future.
How I blew my marriage. I read that yesterday, and realized how accurate it was. Then I realized that while I don't know a whole hell of a lot about keeping a marriage working, I know a good bit about how to mess one up.
That's because no one feels the need to measure their dick against the board owner/operator/moderators/whatevers.
Unfortunately this is one of those situations where everyone is making sweeping judgements based on a minute and half phone video. In general he has a point and it seems to be hitting a nerve with people on the macro level instead of this isolated incident. What preempted his outburst? He clearly became enough of a distraction to be ejected from the class even though he had a valid point. He was interrupting the lesson and was talking down to her. I has tossed out in the hall for the same behavior myself a few times.
Re: Re: Hilo Borrachos de Fin de Semana, Cinco de Mayo We could have a permanent thread called the "I Am Naked Right Now" thread, because at the bottom where it reads "Who Is Online" would be a lot more compelling if you could associate the names listed to states of undress. Ooh, if the admins are red and the mods are blue or whatever, maybe all the naked people would be like flashing yellow or something. Or maybe one asterisk by a name indicates "topless" and two indicates "naked."
