    One of the websites I read raved about the show as the best thing on TV, and how it was a far more realistic portrayal of life in New York than most are (mostly due to the fact that the characters mention money troubles). And if I'm honest, the first show seemed promising enough that I went and watched the next show. The second one was absolute garbage. I sincerely believe it made me dumber. Sure, it's refreshing that someone is being portrayed having an abortion on TV; how many movies or TV shows have come out in the last few years (looking at you, Knocked Up, Teen Mom) have completely glossed over or ignore abortion as a serious option? Lots of women get them. I've known two who have told me that they got one. Guaranteed that there are more. It needn't be a major plot point of every show on TV, but still. If women who have had abortions form a part of the reality in which I live, and I expect some amount of relatability to what I see on TV, then yes, it should be there. That was the only worthwhile part of the episode.

    That whole thing about "what about the stuff that gets up around the sides of condoms?" may have made me dumber. The dry, unwitty lines about "not showing up to your own abortion" just weren't fucking funny. And Shoshanna. Oh my god. Small wonder the character is a virgin, because I am hard-pressed to imagine any human male would - could - maintain an erection in her presence, let alone tolerate her long enough for the both of them to get naked. Actually she reminds me of a girl I tried to pursue back in my undergraduate days before pharmacy school. Ah, youth.

    Just got home from a tournament where I busted out one place from the money. I was chip leader and made a really stupid bet and then it just spiralled down from there. Sad. Had fun at least.

    With regards to how true-to-life airbrushed photos of hot women are, I know that Tucker used to rant about how the models he fucked looked absolutely nothing like their professional shots. However, I think this video is the most educational in that regard;

    This video explains why I have an aneurysm every god damned time someone posts a picture of a "curvy" (or whatever the buzz word is) model and dares call them "realistic". The photograph of any model - be she rail-thin or plus-sized - is a lie. The air-brushing makes them look incredibly different from how they actually look, and to take comfort in seeing a photo of a model with a few extra pounds on her hips is pure self-delusion.

    I think episode two was my favorite of all of them, other than the end episode. There was such an amazing dynamic between the two characters, Sherlock and Irene Adler.

    Suit yourself, you're missing the best television show on the air. Both seasons (S2 already aired on BBC, its online) are absolutely phenomenal.

    In one of those moments of click click clicking on links that take you to links that take you to links down the rabbit hole of the internet, I ended up on some site that listed the top models of the 90s and 80s. It is pretty amazing the difference between the photos back then and the ones now. Obviously the girls were still quite gorgeous, but they were gorgeous with imperfections. Their skin tones weren't perfectly smooth, their bodies had creases and fullnesses that you would never see now, their hair was disheveled. Kind of refreshing really.

    This is why women are inherently untrustworthy. How are we supposed to supposed to trust anything they say or do when they completely distort how they look every time they step out of the bedroom? Makeup is just another mode of deception for them in their quest to castrate all men and take over the world. Ugh, did you see that pimple on her forehead? Disgusting. Why wouldn't she cover that up? Whatever, she's probably a dyke. I miss the days when you'd walk down the street and actually know what a woman looks like when they didn't rely on trickery like makeup but were hot because they wore corsets. Now it's just a bunch of fags commanding them to wear all this ugly clothing that does nothing for my boner. Why isn't that woman doing anything to create a more attractive shape? That woman is disgusting for using tools to create a more attractive shape. Gross, that girl is dressing to attract a man so she's obviously a slut and deserves any harassment she gets. When did women start degrading themselves so much? I hate how women are so slutty these days. I hate how women won't sleep with every man that compliments them. Women are awful because they try to make themselves look attractive. God, why won't women put more effort into looking attractive? Ew, did you just see that woman's arm jiggle? Fat people are disgusting. Why aren't there any realistic photos in magazines? Women should just get the fuck over there not being any realistic photos in magazines. I hate it when a girl won't have sex with the lights on. Not being confident in your body is such a turn-off. I'll only sleep with girls who are happy with their body, but only if that body is perfect. That image of a perfect body is boring.

    I think I got everything I've learned about How To Please My Man from here. Did I miss anything?

    I mean I've been studying the break down of James Deen pornos like the Zapruder film and reading up on BDSM hoping to apply it to all of the women I meet. It can't fail. This site is always an eye opener.

    In the vein of what Audrey wrote, I've become quite a fan of Paulo Coelho lately. Veronika Decides to Die is a really great novel. But then I read this in a syndicated column attached to the back of said novel:

    I mean, men do dare look at women - and worse - without lawyers by their sides. Secondly, having a lawyer by my side wouldn't help me approach women. Thirdly, this is a man who was committed to a mental hospital more than once by his parents and imprisoned and tortured by a military regime for later political activism and you're seriously comparing late-90's American inter-sex social dynamics to your parents committing you to a mental hospital because you wanted to be an artist and express yourself instead of finding more respectable, conformist work? I mean, I haven't been committed to a mental institution and undergone electric shock treatment, nor detained and tortured by a military dictatorship, and while I admit I'm not the most successful guy in the singles scene, I'll take going to a bar and hitting on women over the previous two any day of the week.

    You're missing his point. In general, sexual dynamics and interpersonal relationships between men and women are really fucked up in a lot of Western cultures, but it's by far at its worse in the US. I agree with him there. (And you can largely blame feminists and their ilk for this, by the way) An analogy doesn't have to be one-to-one.

    Exactly. I expect all of the male members of an internet message board to have the same exact opinion of women, and that they will accurately reflect the expectations of all men in the real world.

    Going back to Claudia Schiffer, I love the supermodels of the late 80s/early 90s. I would like to post some pictures of them.

    Two of my favorite, Shalom Harlow:

    No. The lion's share of this mess belongs squarely at the feet of the ridiculous puritanical religious influence that has been a guiding hand in this country's culture since [before] its very founding. The US had fucked up sexual dynamics way before Feminists appeared on the scene.

    Huh, I just looked that post over. Apparently they didn't have color photography in the early 90s. You learn something new every day.
