Re: Introduction See, this is the biggest tragedy of this whole thing. How are the all the crazy retards going to find the board now without Tucker's name to draw them in like moth's to the flame? Unintentional funny just went out the window. And yea, I was a bit bummed when I read the message, more out of surprise than anything. I was on that site since 04 I think, and it taught me a lot through my college years. But oh well, shit happens.
Re: Introduction I'm sure we carried over plenty of idiocy. Now we won't have to deal with 2 post sycophants, and that makes me happy.
Thanks a lot for opening this new message board. I've really enjoyed being a part of this online community for the past two years (wow that sounds really dorky), but it's true. A select few threads on the advice board have been tremendously influential in my life and I've got to give thanks to everyone here for that. -Chris
Once again Chater, thank you for starting up TIB2.0 (or maybe it's 3.0). All hail Caesar! I'm gtg2k. Posted under the same name for 2 years, and loved the message board for the first 6 months I was there. Then I got busy with work, and spent about 9 months away. When I came back, it definitely had a different vibe, and the last year has been downhill, blah, blah, blah, ad nauseum. I, too, hope to see good things on this board, and am very glad to see others from the old board on here. However, I've yet to see anything from a certain South African, and I know this board could use his presence. I'm talking about an angry, sexually frustrated, soccer and rugby loving, all around ornery sonofabitch. I'm talking about a man from a lovely hamlet set on the eastern side of that nation, on the coast of the Indian Ocean. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm talking about.............. DURBANITE!!!
Same name on the old board. I had slowed in my posting for much the same reasons as everyone else. I had noticed a rash in bannings of senior members as well, but I wrote it off as those ritual purges Tucker mentioned when they banned the people who got too attached. If this boards going to take off, we need to get away from RMMB as our model. Unless one of us is a secret egocentric but charming semi famous person RMMB isn't our model. Another poster mentioned 2004-2006 was the "golden age" of RMMB. I don't think I was around for most of that so lets have all these people who were lurkers but never posted or who are just old old vets tell us about their favorite threads with the simple limit that it can't be tucker centric. I'd say our best bet would be simply to let people post, and let the funny rise to the top. Also while I like boobies and booties, that will come later. Lets make a good board.
Goddamn it, I scrolled past this quickly and thought there had actually been a sighting! You bastard. Hi. I'm the same old tweetybird. Business school ate my life and thus I haven't been around much lately, but I still plan to continue confounding my fiancé by hanging out with you weirdos if this thing ends up taking off.
Rezy here, been around since 2005 mostly lurking. Didn't really keep up with the board at all this year until the past few weeks and look forward to seeing this one grow.
As has been said by many, thanks for keeping this place alive. Loved killing time by reading all funny and interesting posts at the old board. Looks like the pace of my degree work is going to slow down now the board is back. Although at this point to slow down I pretty much have to come to a halt. Many thanks again Chater
Not so sir! I get this: You cannot post new topics in this forum How and where am I supposed to promote shit like this??? Death Becomes Real (Maxim, November 2009) - October 18, 2009 When reality star Ryan Jenkins stopped acting polite, murder followed... READ MORE HERE
Hi all. I joined up with TMMB's island of misfit toys in winter 02-03. Posted frequently; conversed with a few of you often on the boards. I have similar reasons for fading out. I'm not sure if I will be here a lot but wanted to at least read some of the content. If I do play, it will be on the pop culture boards. Thanks for resurrecting those Big C. I was not the least bit surprised the boards closed. Over the last two years, they'd become the complete opposite of what they were in their golden era. I will keep my fingers crossed that this thing goes in the right direction for you all. Enjoy!
That's since changed. You can create it in the SUGGESTION forum, and if it warrants it, it'll be moved into one of the other forums.
FYI, for those that don't necessarily recognize my name, and for those that do, as well. This was my av for the last year or so. I've reverted back to my original av (A guy I know going head over on his bike at my old race club), because, rather than changing my online ID, I'd like to change the way it's perceived. Originally, the Bad Religion av was to show that I loved that band, but it sorta became a symbol of my atheism as well. Since I found that advertising religious beliefs (even if they're anti-religious beliefs) puts you in a certain camp, I've decided to disassociate myself from any strong political/religious beliefe, one way or the other. Hence, Chaz dumping bike over head. I can always relate to motorcycle racing. Anyway, this is how you may have known me:
I've been around since late 2005. Was a fairly regular contributor, but found that the thread topics on RMMB kind of declined in quality on the idiot board, so most of my stuff was on the MMA boards, or the occasional pop culture/permanent thread.
Little drunk, may be posting unnecessarily, but I'm pretty sure I remember you from the Pop Culture board, and I don't ever remember disagreeing with you. I love the caliber of members we've attracted here. It seems most of the intelligent, funny members have followed over, with very few of the less desirables. As I may have said earlier, I look forward to how this pruning of dead weight can lead to increased growth.
Long time lurker, posted for the first time a few weeks ago looking for help with a life decision and got some great pieces of advice and wisdom. Since then, I've posted mostly on the sports/funny story boards. Glad to get in on the ground floor this time!
Hi all, I was flacco on the old board and I joined the RMMB in 08 and while I mainly lurked there I did post from time to to time. I am glad that there is a military thread back up as that was one of the main reasons that I stayed with the RMMB in the first place. The amount of priceless advice that was posted on that thread from the likes of BrianH, TheLittlestRanger and many others that I can't remember at the moment helped me and I'm assuming a few other people decide to jointhe armed forces, a decision that I am glad I did
I'm Evolution from the RMMB, lurked for a while before posting there. I mostly kept to the Chasing Kaz and Permenant section, like others felt the Idiot Board was getting stale. Thanks Chater for the new start. Out of curiosity, why did all the sections split apart? Has anyone given any thought to recombining any of them to share the cost?
Determined from the RMMB. I'm the guy who posted that whole "Is this guy throwing you under the bus" thing. I have to admit, that entire post was a gigantic troll. I started out as a fan of Tucker, but as time went on and he became more and more of a jackass who isn't even loyal to his friends, it became funnier just to see how many bridges I could get him to burn. By the time I was done, it was quite a few.
Hey folks, you may remember me as RCG Tiburon from the old boards. Very occasional poster, mostly because someone had already said what I wanted to say and I could just rep them, but partly because I was afraid of getting the verbal beatdown by RandomMemberX. Particularly loved Ironman and Bunny's posts; phila lawyer always had something cuttingly insightful to add. I thought most of the mods were pretty good, quite frankly. Look forward to posting a lot more here.
