I saw that there was a thread called "motto suggestions" or something like that, but I never had a chance to look at it. I'm guessing it was for the line beneath "The Idiot Board dot com." Can I make a quick suggestion? "Alcohol-induced potty-mouthED ramblings." You know, what with wanting to appear smart, and all...
I had the same name on the old board, but had not posted much lately due to work/school. Hopefully that will change soon. Good luck Chater, looks like you are going to have your hands full!
So this is where you assholes ran off to, huh? I'd like to say I was extremely productive at work the last week, but the data shows otherwise. Time normally spent on the RMMB was simply replaced with staring at the wall or retiring to the restroom to masturbate. Thanks to Chater for setting this board up. I hope it can be as entertaining as the old board.
Hi, I went to the old boards off and on, sometimes out of sheer boredom, for a few years. Surprisingly China found no problems with Tuckers site, or Maddox for that matter. (google the Great Firewall of China, it blocks everything). However, I wonder if the movie will ever make it over here. Probably a pirated DVD at some point. I get a different vibe from this site, seems like things will be much less anal. I have never been a fan of the focus/anti focus routine that some forums use, because it just doesn't seem natural. In real life conversations, topics change on a whim. I mean, if a friend mentions something interesting but not on topic, I won't tell them to stay on the topic at hand. As long as everyone is reasonably intelligent, I think we can trust threads to take on a life of their own. I mean, most conversations divert in all sorts of crazy unexpected ways in real life.
I guess I'm pretty late to the party. I logged on today for the first time in about two weeks and was slightly taken aback when I saw the shutdown message. I was a member of the T/RMMB since 2004. Posted sporadically on and off, the majority of which coming during the year and a half that I was unemployed from Nov 06 to May '08. Given that I'll be unemployed again in three weeks I may be spending more time on here again in between filling out job application after job application. Looking forward to the lurkers from the old board coming out of the woodwork. And a thank you to Chater for taking the time to keeping it going.
Was shocked and dismayed to go to the RMMB and find out it was no longer, so thank you Chater for starting this up! Was a member of the RMMB since September of '04 (when it was the TMMB). Was fishysticks there as well but didn't post much towards the end due to issues with (of course) the mods and being huge fat and pregnant. Womb is now baby free and i'm ready to go back to time wasting.
I was just a lurker, posted maybe once on the old board. My trusty boyfriend got introduced me to all you wonderful, depraved people. It was the TV boards I enjoyed the most, so you'll probably see me on there now - Dexter, South Park, Lost, House - but I do get a giggle out of the standard Idiot threads, too. I don't really feel the urge to post unless I have something to say that hasn't already been said, but I might actually talk now that there are fewer people. It does bear repeating though - thank you, Chater, for setting this board up. Let the procrastination resume!
Just making the appropriate introductions here. Was basically a lurker on the old board. Will attempt to post more here but busier now than ever.
Greeting all, uni Red Eye Banquet here, I was a member of the old RMMB/ TMMB for a while, I don't think I even registered one post. My interest in the old board was a passing fancy at best. I actually know Biscuits from IHTSBIH thread, and have worked with him on various projects throughout the years. He was the one that originally sent me the link to that rather unique culture and environment. I will try and post with some frequency and answer any questions that you may have. Cheers! REB
I suppose I should do this. Dyson004 over there, Dyson004 over here. I joined the RMMB sometime early in '08. The RMMB was a great resource as well as an awesome way to pass some time. It looks like this board is shaping up nicely to take its place.
At least I have something to do during the day now. RMMB question: Did Tucker ever successfully get HotWheelz laid?
Hey Everyone, My name was "smalls" and I was one of the Avatar-less on the last board, which I was a member of on and off (starting with a banning in 03, and again in 04) before sticking around for good in 05. Here's to hoping this one takes off!
Same screen name on the old board. I originally found the RMMB when I was doing a search on Robert Greene, author of the 48 Laws of Power. Then I noticed the name of the site was tuckermax.com and that guy was producing a movie. I read bits and pieces of Tucker's blog and couldn't believe how delusional the guy was. It was highly entertaining watching the whole thing unfold. Maybe not so much for him. At any rate, I was disappointed to see the messageboards go because there was a lot of valuable information there. Overall I could do without the Tucker Max character and it looks like this place will take on a life of it's own.
Was "Skip" on the old board from 04/05 until a well deserved ban, since then I've been hanging around as "Portholes". Also "Badbrains" on FSF, but since that board was basically copy-and-pasted thread ideas from RMMB, I don't go over there much.
Aw man, I got here after the "Flame Tucker for shutting down the board" wave? BUT THE EMOTIONS! Thank you, Chater, for returning some semblance of normality to my daily workday. I don't know what we'd be doing without this place, but probably something very pragmatic and soul-crushing. It's great to see so many returning members from the RMMB. I was Cookie over there and I'm Cookie over here. Looking forward to seeing this place take off.
I've been really busy for the past couple of days, so I didn't know the message board was done until yesterday night (needed to see what the thoughts were for the new Mad Men episode). Lurked since I was 18, and like others said before me, coming to the website while I was at work or studying for exams for the past 5 years became part of my normal routine. Thank you so much Chater for starting this site. I was a lot more upset than I thought I would be about the news (and thought it was a horrible horrible joke), and I honestly did not realize how much fun I had reading posts by the regular members. Thank god I can still go read Mad Men discussions without IM grammar.
Was a lurker for a very very long time on the ol' RMMB forum. Then finally signed up one day, posted probably once or twice a year. Now I'm here I like beer (as so should you). Life's too short for shitty beer Beer Me.
