    I have my sights set on a new girl. I spent Friday afternoon talking for six hours, I don't think shoes, or TV came up at all. We talked about politics, bears, whether hummingbirds are tameable, the next 50 years, and how stupid religion. Maybe it's love?

    I second the bacon method.

    I PM'd you about how to reset/reseason your pan but I'll add a couple details.

    If it's a new pan you want to take the cooking surface down to metal. The manufacturers use all sorts of coatings to prevent rust that you don't want to ingest. Or if you've failed at seasoning a few times you probably have way too much burnt oil on the cooking surface... everything will stick to it. Reset time.

    Boil a large kettle of water and pour half of it over your pans cooking surface. Take a stainless untreated (no soap) scrub pad to the surface and then rinse with the remaining hot water.

    Now cook bacon. When finished enjoy your bacon. Then pour off extra fat from pan, rub it lightly with a dry paper towel, and put it in the oven for 30 min at 400. After the pan cools you can give it one more rub down with a dry paper towel to pick up any of the extra residue in the pan. Done until you're ready to use again.

    After the initial seasoning you should never use soap on the pan and after rinsing it out you need to dry it immediately. Or you can just cook up some corn bread in it. That's my favorite method for sopping up the extra fat/oil/deliciousness

    Halfway done with one of the articles I'm writing, time for some Southern Comfort (because it's what was in the house).

    For all the shit SoCo gets, on the rocks, with a bit of real lime juice, it isn't bad. It's the people who go mixing it with amaretto and shit that give it a bad name.
