A few things I thought of after I re-watched "Dr. Linus".

    1. Why didn't MiB kill Miles, Ilana, and Lapidus? I would think that could make life easier for him and his group.

    2. When Richard meets up with Jack and Hurley, Hurley asks "Where have you been?". Richard replies, "You wouldn't believe me if I told you.". Where was Ricardo? Or was that part of his lie to get them to the Black Rock?

    3. When Jacob said that bad people were coming, I think he was talking about Widmore and his sub.

    4. Speaking of the sub how did Widmore find the island? Now that Jacob is dead can anyone see/find the island?

Actually, I believe he or Jack asked him something more like "Where did you come from?" or "How did you get here?"

The answer, I'm hoping, should explain the whispers and how some of the Others can travel around the island much faster than you would expect by walking and/or how some of them appear out of nowhere.

Oh man, about a year ago, I posted an elaborate theory on the RMMB about how the island and it's goings on are the source of all religious beliefs. In my theory, I predicted that Jacob wasn't really a god like Ra or Anubis (which is what we thought the statue was at the time), but actually some nameless thing that inspired people of different cultures to create whatever gods they worshipped as sort of a tribute to this original place.

Unfortuntately, I can't really prove this now that the RMMB is dead (I can't even find an archive of the season 5 thread), but if this turns out to be true in any way, I will probably have to suck my own dick. Because a pat on the back won't be enough.

Nobody that read this thread thought that, as I fucking PROVED it was Tawaret the day after we saw the full thing. NO ONE with any sense, that is, thought it was Ra or Anubis.

Fuck, I hate it when people don't read the past, or fail to understand it.

I'm talking about the night the episode aired. And yes, people did think it was Anubis for a while when we only saw the fucking back of it. And really? you're going to tear the shit out of my post over a tiny detail that you took out of context that doesn't have anything to do with the point of the post just so someone gives you credit for it?

Ok, fine. It was Tawaret all along and nobody ever thought otherwise and it was because of you alone, iczorro, that we learned that.

EDIT: Based on the date and time, I'm going to take a gander and say that you've at least finished the first bottle of Goose for the night. So nevermind.
    moving on...

    Ok, thanks.

Still wondering about Ben and his father though. Roger Linus shot Sayid in 1977 right before the Losties tried to detonate the bomb. So he was still on the island while the incident happened. Same goes for Ben who should still be at the temple at that point.

But when they talked in the sideways world it goes something like "Maybe we should have stayed on the island" and "These Dharma guys were good people". It seems like they don't know that the island is now at the bottom of the ocean. We assumed that the island is submerged and that the timelines split (thus creating the sideways world) because of the incident. But this somehow doesn't add up now, at least in my opinion.

This is actually something Doc Jensen touched on that I intended to mention.

My theory all along was that the alternate timeline splintered off from the first one when the bomb went off. This is our first sign that that isn't true, because they went out of their way to show that Roger didn't get on the sub in the original timeline, and then made sure we understood that Ben and Roger had been to the island in this alternate timeline.

This is our first indication that my splinter timeline assumption is incorrect. Which is annoying. I wanted to be right... fuckers.

Close. Half a handle of Ketel One.

Oy, drinking and posting in a non-drunk thread.

Ben was still at the Temple with Richard when the bomb went off, and the only people put on the sub were supposed to be women and children, so Roger wouldn't have made the cut, either. This episode was the first indication we've had that the bomb changed things that happened before it even went off. Perhaps as early as the 50s, which is the earliest chronological time the Losties were on the island. If their plane never crashed, they never did any of that, though the island still sank somehow. I think we just have to assume it wasn't the bomb that did it in the sideways world, though we know that the bomb is what actually changed things.

I just finished rewatching "Dr. Linus". I caught something remarkable that hasn't been mentioned yet. During the opening credits, when Alex is at Ben's front door, look at who directed this episode. Be sure to have a clear path to a nearby toilet because you may just shit yourself.

Or you could look it up on imdb.com. Whatever.

What? He can direct Nino Brown and Pookie in New Jack City but he can't direct an episode of Lost?

No shit. Mario Van Peebles established himself as a bona fide director a long time ago, with a pretty good deal of success at that.* In fact, it's so UNREMARKABLE that your post just comes across as stupid and embarassing. But if you're worried about shitting your pants because lo-and-behold a familiar face was working behind the camera then I hope for your sake you never watch an episode of "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia"

*I mean...he'll always be the Ayatollah of Rock-n-Rolla' in my heart but I'm still a fan of his films and his recent TV work, particularly his work on "Damages".

I still feel like I have a ton to digest and fully try to (hopefully) understand, but first and foremost, dear God Charlotte is hot in the sodeways-world.

Also, was the girl with Sawyer in the beginning of the episode -- who he said he was just trying to get to her husband -- the same one that trapped him and took him to Widmore on the sub at the end?

A good set up episode, interesting, but nothing phenomenal.

I'm most curious about what is in the locked room... Eloise Hawking?

I feel pretty dumb about this, but I watched over half of that whole episode and it wasn't until they Sawyer was climbing down the ladder into the submarine that I remembered that it was Widmore and his people that had come to the island.

Next weeks episode is going to be great, I've been waiting a long time to see this.

I knew fake Locke was pimp but I didn't know it was so literal. "Now look what you made me do bitch!" "I'm so sorry, daddy. I'm so sorry."
