I'm watching the pilot on ABC tonight. Seriously, how hot was Kate back then. They even had a gratuitous shot of her bathing herself in her bra and underwear. Just crazy how the show evolved.
Goddamned brilliant. Especially if you're the type of retarded hardcore Lost fan (like me) who knows what all the scenes actually said. Loved it.
So I have to DVR the finale and won't be able to watch until Tuesday. Obviously I'll be avoiding this thread until then, but I'm gonna have to be very careful with my Facebook news feed as well.
Can anyone say MOTHER-FUCKING LOST COSTUME PARTY? That's right bitches, from now until midnight tonight, call me Charlie Hieronymous Pace. That is, until my girl kicks me in the nuts for saying "Guys, where are we?" one too many times.
Maybe I'll throw you a picture of my hand with the FATE Fingers. But that's it, I don't need you fuckers knowing what I look like.
Last week's Totally Lost was great, mostly because Welliver and Pellegrino dominated the whole thing. Part 5, with Smokey being a therapist to Jacob was just fantastic.
I was roaring with laughter during the counseling session. Those guy's are great... "I want a spinoff!"
So far. Awesome. Scene with Sun and Jin was really emotional. I mean, not like for me, but for some of you. Like, the girls probably. Alright fine, it got me
The Claire and Charlie scene, I don't know what happened, but... It suddenly got very dusty in my apartment.
I have to understand the exact ending. What does that make the Island? Alterna-World was purgatory? I think when the actual ending is chewed on, it'll be just as polarizing as the Sopranos.
I think my roommate started cutting onions or something during the Sawyer and Juliet scene as well...and others. Let's just say there was a lot of onions being cut tonight...
Wow, the ending was beautiful. Having Jack close his eye just like he opened it in the beginning, bookending it like that. Jack saving everyone, doing the one thing he always wanted to do. Hurley taking over as the protector (I'm not gonna go look through the thread but... I did call that. COUNT IT.) I absolutely loved the resolution of the Island story, the real story. The flash sideways is what some people may consider to be controversial, but... Instead of looking at it like purgatory or a cop-out, remember that this is the happily ever after. We don't get that from the Island with so few people surviving, but we do get that from the flash sideways. Overall I thought it was absolutely beautiful.
I thought it was a good finale in general, even if it left some questions unanswered (Statue of Tawaret, anyone). As far as interpretations go, the last scene in the church reminded me of Vonnegut's "Cat's Cradle," and the idea from the book that everyone on earth is part of a specific group, a "karass." You and everyone else in your karass are working towards a common goal, even though you don't know each other nor what that goal is. So the point of the sideways universe/afterlife was to bring everyone in the Oceanic 815 karass together before they could move on to the next phase of existence. That's just my first impression, of course, I'm interested to see what other people thought of the end.
