Two reasons. He didn't wanna get punched out by Rose, and everyone pretty much agrees that Jack is a blubbering vagina not worthy of quoting.
I had considered putting together a watch party for the premier tonight, but then my roommate pointed out that he and I are really the only ones we know who even watch Lost. So were just gonna have our own little two man watch party tonight. I pretty much lurked through this thread on the old board, just reading all the crazy shit that you guys came up with. I'm gonna try my hand at speaking up a bit more often this season, it seems like trying to come up with your own hair-brained theories as to what is going on makes the new episodes just that much more exciting. EDIT: Figured I should change my avatar to commemorate this exciting day. Just under 11 hours now boys! I am not going to get any work done today...
I'm watching an old episode of The Unit right now.....and who should show up as a guest star, but Jacob. Good timing.
Besides the final episodes of season 5, does anyone have suggestions on what episodes would be a good pre-premiere for LOST? I want to watch a few to get in the mood and try to remember everything.
Totally Lost from Doc Jensen. With guest stars Silas Adams from Deadwood, and that Hot chick Angelina Jolie made out with in Gia.
Walkabout- One of the finest episodes of season 1 and the episode that hooked me. Orientation- The beginning of the mythology that is Dharma Flashes Before Your Eyes- Setting up the time travel and further cementing the free will/predestination debate. Stranger In a Strange Land- Jack's tatoos, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA fuck that episode in the butt. There's No Place Like Home parts 1-3- Awesome end to season 4 The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham- The tragic ending of the most interesting character in Lost, John Locke
Adding two sentimental favorites Greatest Hits- Just all around heartbreaking, Claire and Aaron better get on a helicopter in season 6 The Constant- Just for the phone call between Des and Penny at the end.
There's a season 6 preview/sneak peak up on Hulu. I'm not sure if it counts as spoilerish or not, but it does have some new Season 6 footage I haven't seen yet. It looks really cool though, now I'm even more excited for tonight. Spoiler http://www.hulu.com/watch/125146/lost-preview-questions
A great three minute clip of tonight's episode from Hulu: Spoiler http://www.hulu.com/watch/125071/lost-a-look-at-lost#s-p1-sr-i1 It's what happens immediately after Ben kills Jacob. Alpert has finally had enough of Ben's shit. Damn I love this show.
Another fun fact: The guy who played Jacob and the guy who played Phil were in the David Lynch movie Mulholland Drive together. I just hope this season features Naomi Watts lezing out with that other chick.
Stupid question, but just so I'm clear, there is an hour long 'recap' show before the two-hour long season premiere, correct?
Fixed that for you. Last time I checked, we found out that Locke had actually been played for 5 seasons by MiB/Smokey, and actually wasn't special at all. A lot will need to happen in the final season for that to change.
That was fucking awesome. Well done, Darlton. Suspenseful, confusing, we got answers, we found new things, we still have questions and the end was just so fucking shocking that I can't explain it. Does this mean that Juliette might come back to life too? I think Sawyer had better head over there. And who is the Asian guy? He seems to be the leader at the temple, but how did he coexist with Ben/Widmore and Alpert? And does that Chains comment suggest that Alpert was on the Black Rock?
Yup, they're in the present (2007, same time as Sun/Lapidus/Ben), proven when Dead Jacob told Hurley he'd been dead for about an hour.
I take the "chains" comment to mean Alpert came to the island on the Black Rock. Remember, there were decayed bodies still in chains in the hold of the ship. Speaking of the Black Rock, I found it interesting that Ben sneered at Flocke that Flocke couldn't kill Jacob himself - he had to have someone else do it. Locke also had someone else kill his father for him, because he couldn't do it himself. He got Sawyer to kill Anthony Cooper in the hold of the Black Rock.
I have to admit, that was well worth the wait. I'm obviously more than a little confused, but let's go ahead and cover the main points: - Maybe it's just me, but I thought the ending was completely expected. I might be partial, since Sayid's my favorite character. - Richard in chains = awesome allusion to the only time we've seen human form MiB - Miles' response to Hurley "Nothing", a perfect way to set up that ending - How did Juliette suddenly figure out "it worked"? - Alternate reality? Same reality with concurrent timelines & duplicate people/consciousness (kinda like Miles & baby Miles)? - No Shannon on the plane? No dead Shannon on the island? Desmond takes her place somehow? I'm not sure I really care to follow the "da plane landed boss!" group for the entire season. Can't quite figure out why, but I'd imagine it has to do with the massive time investment I've made in the assumption that they crashed on a fucking magical island.
Okay, that was awesome. I wasn't too keen on the first hour but things really picked up in the second half of the premiere. Instead of Sayid actually coming to life, it could be Jacob coming back and taking his form, much like the Man in Black/Smokey did with Locke. That was my first guess. The only other time I can remember chains playing a part was when Sawyer killed Anthony Cooper. Or Juliette being pulled into the hole. No idea what this is supposed to mean though. Just throwing it out there.
I didn't know Sayid would be coming back to life. Why? Because he's alive in the alternate timeline. We didn't necessarily need him to be alive on the Island in order for him to be alive. As Charlie and Boone, among others are only alive in one of the timelines. When Shannon wasn't on the plane and Desmond was and then Hurley spoke about how he was the luckiest guy in the world right after Sawyer warned him not to talk about his money, I thought this was some sort of different world. But then Charlie was choking on drugs, Locke was still in a wheelchair, I thought Locke was going to be able to walk, Kate wasn't going to be a convict and Charlie wasn't going to be a drug addict. Well, oops. The differences are going to be key. It's going to be character driven, VERY important differences. And as for Christian's body being missing. Well THAT is going to be very, very important. But hey, at least Frogurt was still alive, right?
