At least Detroit fans can take solace in the fact that Phil Coke is fucking hilarious...

The owners response: We finished last with them. What do you expect?

Anybody that goes to a game, buys a hat or watches them on TV is now a moron.

I hope he remembers that Jesus doesn't like liars.

What did he lie about? All I remember him saying is that the Rangers would have the "first shot" at resigning him, not necessarily the last shot.

No, he went on record saying the Rangers would have the opportunity to counter any offer (or decline to counter any offer) he received.

Perhaps that's the case. But if the Rangers would have gotten Greinke and pulled off the trade for Upton, would they have still offered Hamilton a contract? No. Would they be expected to? No way. It's also very likely that the Angels offer was a 1 time, take it or leave it type offer. Obviously the Rangers hadn't been willing to go 5 years at 25 mil per.

This is true. But when the Rangers didn't show him any loyalty, why should Hamilton?

    Loyalty?
    I'm not talking about loyalty.
    It's not "disloyal". It's "lying". There's a difference.

And, given Hamilton's incredible "faith" in Jesus, I wonder how he's reconciling the outright lie with his spirituality.

I'm having trouble finding anything where it's documented that Hamilton said that he would give the Rangers a chance to match. There are a few articles out there where the Rangers thought they would get a chance to match, but nothing definitive.

And even if he did say that he would give them a chance, I don't see anything wrong with that. At the end of the day he'll have to square his own conscience with Jesus, or whatever, and that's his own problem.

    aww. You're an Angels fan.

Have fun with the baggage. I'm not sad to see him go, but I'm sad that he's not the person he presents to be.

I'm not, I'm a Brewers fan. We have no shot at anyone, I'm looking at this from an outsider point of view.
