That sounds like the entire Oakland Athletics relievers in 2015.. One blown save after another. It does not even matter which pitcher you put in.

Damn. When I wrote that ESPN had just published a poll of MLB players who said Harper was the most over-rated player in the game.

And this is why they play the games.

Dude is putting up Bonds like numbers.

He leads the NL in batting average and HR's. And OBP. And SLG (With a whopping .670 to second place Joey Votto's .549.) His 1.137 OPS is unreal as is his 9.6 WAR.

And he's still just 22. 5 more HR's and he becomes just the 3rd player to hit 100 HR's at 22. Pretty select company...Mel Ott (HoF) and Tony Conigliaro (One of the saddest stories in sports history.)

The only thing keeping Harper from a triple crown is the batters in front of him have sucked, he hasn't had guys on base to drive in. And he's done all of this with no protection behind him. Trout has Pujols behind him and his numbers are nowhere close to Harper's. Just imagine if someone like Pujols was behind Harper all year.

I think he's hitting his stride.

Usually I frown at gunning the ball at the batter, but in this situation I wish he could have thrown it five times as hard. What a whiney little fucking bitch.

Meh. One of your jobs as a pitcher, batter, baserunner, whatever is to disrupt the opposing player into making a mistake.

Seager did nothing 50% of batters don't do. Weaver took exception to it and barked at him. Seager barked back and deliberately became very animated in his approach. Weaver gets frustrated and throws at him.

    Bingo.

Your team is in a pennant race and you just got your dumb ass tossed out of the game. Not a very smart move.

    Game. Set. Match. Seager.

Baseball can be a head game more than a physical game sometimes. But I have never, ever not once, ever seen a batter act like that. Not 50% of hitters, not 20%, 5% or even 1%. None. Ever.

If he had done that any decade prior to the '80s, he would have gotten a shave and haircut on the next pitch. Want to guess how Nolan Ryan or Randy Johnson would have reacted? That pitch that hit him on the back would have been going 95+

Uh...I was referring to the fact that the first time Seager stepped in he held up his hand while he dug in. This is quite common, probably around 50%. Weaver got pissed and yelled at him. Seager then took it to the extreme the next pitch while yelling back at Weaver.

Gotcha, that I agree with. But the second go 'round, with the gesturing, and talking to Weaver? Little league stuff. You already know you're in his head, why make yourself look like a douche?

To get in his head more? I dunno. He was probably pissed that he got into the box the same way he's always done in his previous 2000 or so MLB AB's and Weaver yelled at him for it.

You can tell I haven't had much to cheer about this year as a M's fan.

There just has not been anywhere enough trash talk this season. I wish I could have but when the team you follow (Oakland Athletics) lay a pile of crap as early in the season as they did, well not much to trash about. However, Shimmered, The Athletics are going to put a whooping on your beloved Rangers over the next three games and totally ruin what has been a very nice run for your Rangers. Yep, once again the A's are will cause heartache for you and I will never be happier this miserable season. Why the Athletics just might finish ahead of Seattle so Toytoy, you and Jamie James might be next.

I dunno, I think for the next 2-3 seasons the AL West is going to belong to the Astros.

I'm not giving it to Houston until I see a repeat performance next year.

As to Oakland, that fucking team needs to just disappear. Angry.

Shimmered, I cannot even trash talk an end of the year series right this year. Rangers take the first two from Oakland and I am reconsidering if I really want to see the afternoon game tomorrow. Congrats on a good season so far.

Blue Jays make the postseason for the first time since Carter's dinger in 1993. whoot whoot That ends the longest drought in the MLB, bestowed now on the Mariners.

Max Scherzer pitches his second no-hitter THIS SEASON. Seventeen strikeouts.

It is impressive, but for the amount of money he's getting paid he should shove an air hose up his ass and do flip flops all over the field before every start.

    $50 Million signing bonus.
$35 Million each year from 2019-2021

He's 14-12 with a 2.79 ERA and the Nats are going to be watching the playoffs from their comfy livingrooms.

I had no idea his contract was that ridiculous. Fuck. Unless your pitches cure cancer NO athlete deserves to make that much.

That was a peach of a game. The Hamels acquisition just really solidified what I've always thought of Jon Daniels.
