I remember. It held the distance record there for a few years until Macguire and Manny both hit it even further up there. Speaking of nightmares the Jays are playing like absolute ass. Lost the last five, they're losing to the Twins right now. Sad trombone.
This is almost ridiculous. Here is Bryce Harper's line for the month of May: .200 (9-45), 2 HR, 5 RBI. He has 7 singles and 2 HR for the month. His OBP is .507. The league is afraid to pitch to a .200 hitter? How fucking good is this guy?
I heard a stat the other night during the Dodgers/Angels game: In games that Clayton Kershaw has started for the Dodgers that they have scored at least 4 runs, he's 83-0. Let that rattle around in your brain for a bit. Wow. Remember Don Zimmer? The old Popeye looking dude that Pedro Martinez threw to the ground during a BoSox/Yanks play-off brawl? Have a look at him on his 1955 Bowman rookie card. The back describes him as one of the most promising prospects in the game. Then he took a few fastballs to the head (Before there was such a thing as batting helmets.) Spoiler
Tim Hudson had a similar stretch. I don't know how to look that up, but his A's years and first few with the Braves he was like 90-1 with 4 runs support. He also has a win over all 30 Major League teams, which is kinda cool.

I get it - and I hate seeing the ballpark destroyed. But saying this doesn't benefit Arlington isn't wholly accurate. It just doesn't benefit the areas Mac mentioned. The entire complex is huge - and will bring money into the city. The ballpark and the Live! will both create amazing revenue streams - particularly in an area that is literally sitting filled with empty warehouses. I admit my perspective is biased - as a former business owner in that area, I experienced what the Death Star did for my gym and for the climbing gym. Throw in a Live! and the traffic it brings in, and Jesus I wish I was still there. And - Mac ignores that too many fucking times players decline Texas BECAUSE of the heat. It's fucking brutal. Fans are in it for three hours. The players are in it almost double that and they're constantly having IVs to prevent dehydration. I just hope it has solar.

Do we really think that there will be an extra $20M generated a year because of the new stadium? How would that occur? How will a new ballpark fill warehouses? Every study ever done shows that tax payers lose money on these projects. https://www.heartland.org/policy-documents/research-commentary-taxpayer-funding-sports-facilities http://www.forbes.com/sites/jeffrey...-are-a-game-that-taxpayers-lose/#192a2c8c6183
Julio Teheran struck out 12 in 7 innings, including 4 in one inning, gave up three hits, no walks, one run, and STILL the Braves lost 2-1. It's so sad that the offense can't get inspired enough by his performance to scratch across a couple runs.
Live footage if the A's dugout after Leonys Martin hits a two out, two strike, two run walk off homer. Hey shimmered, how's Tommy Wilhemsen working out?
Fun fact: tonight Michael Saunders and Russ Martin became the first Canadian teammates ever to homer in the same inning. And they play for the Jays. Also Martin is playing second base tonight against the Yankees after Tulo left the game. He's a catcher. The fuck.
That was the craziest ending to a baseball game I've seen in a long time. What an absolute fuckup by the Mariners.
I kind of wanted to pick one of those up, but the going rate on e-bay is $40-50. I don't want one that bad.
True, but damn. Swept by the Twins? How the hell did that happen? EDIT: Damn did the bats wake up 16-0 in the 5th.
I did not see this coming...6/1 and guess who leads MLB in HR's? The Mariners. Unbelievable. Even Leonys Martin has 9. His career high was 8 while playing in Arlington where the ball flys out. My favorite though has to be the M's pudgy 6'4" 250lb Korean secret weapon.: Dae-Ho Lee. 75 AB's, 7HR...no doubles, no triples. Just HR's. A true one trick pony. How can you not like this dude?
