Bye bye Red Sox. Arguably the hottest team in baseball the second half of the season gets swept after their offense disappears. Crazy.

Hope the Cubs can get it done tonight. Nats-Cubs and Indians-Blue Jays would be a nice chunk of new blood for a potential WS matchup.

I guess I'll put in my two cents as a Red Sox fan...

It sucks that Papi's season ended on such a down note, but it was the culmination of all the glaring issues of the team all year - Losing games by one run, or flat out not getting any runs while David Price pisses the game away.

Really, the end of the season was surreal. They had a hot streak, and then the last series in New York, they fizzled out, and didn't seem to have any type of motivation to win home field advantage. And then there was so much attention paid to Ortiz's final regular season games, when you know he's gonna be playing in the postseason. It just didn't feel like a team that was on fire to win like they were in 2007 or 2013.

Oh well. We'll get 'em next year, as they say. Maybe with Encarnacion at DH. And a fuckin' bullpen, and hopefully with David Price having a second year with the team like Porcello had this year.

For now, Go Cubs - even though I hate Joe Maddon so much.

A Jays vs. Cubs World Series is the dream for me. That was fucking fantastic Sunday night. The country went collectively batshit.

    The insecurity there is ripe.

I mean I want the jays to win it all but seeing the Cubs take it would make me really happy for them

I will never, EVER think that. They are a Voltron of all the shitty things about shitty fans come together in an axis of whiney, salty tears.

Night after night of one-quarter full home games. Most fairweather fans in baseball.

Holy crap. I went to sleep before the 9th inning of Cubs-Giants. The Giants OWNED that game and Moore pitched great. (I guess the Giants will be shopping for a closer this offseason.) With the decisions by Maddon and clutch hitting, including bench players . . . it feels like there's no stopping the Cubbies this year.

I'm a diehard Cubs fan and even I was at the height of pessimism last night. The offense was stagnant. Just a couple HRs and capitalizing on an error. And I found myself very worried about Thursday. Then the gates opened. Zobrist's double was beyond unexpected. I was thrilled to tie it. Going up by 1 was a dream.

Baez is one of my fav Cubs ever, already. He's become an OUTRAGEOUS fielder, one of the most clever tagger in baseball, and while his plate discipline is trash, you have to appreciate how fearless he is. His play in the 5th(?) That got ruled safe was one of the most ridiculous plays Ive seen in awhile.

I haven't seen many Cubs games this year, so that little montage they did of him going all super tag was fun. When Andrelton Simmons was with the Braves, I enjoyed watching his natural movements and instincts that seemed other-wordly. Baez looks like he has that even more. Crazy cool.

This is my fav play of his. He just has a creativity to his game that is incredible.

He showed the power at the plate on his call ups. But the defensive ability is really what is making him shine. He's a likely candidate to get moved in the offseason, which would make me super sad.

These TBS announcers suck. Who the hell hired Ben Stein and Robert Stack to call a fucking ALCS game?

Cox has struck again this post season. Play-offs on TBS? Cool, I've got TBS.

Woah, woah, not so fast there...Cox removed some channels as they've decided everyone should have cable boxes. Guess what one of the channels they removed was?

Cubs are just too fun. Miggy f'ing Montero, seriously? Fowler was a beast, Baez with an outrageously ballsy play. This team is amazing to watch.

Dodgers pitching Kershaw for the 3rd time in 9 days. Hopefully his arm is a bit tired and the Cubs can jump on him early. Hendricks/Kershaw? Cant wait.

The transformation of Baez has been breathtaking. Granted he's only 23, but he's become so much steadier as an overall player and is one of the most clever players in the league already. He's a baseball savant. If the bomb he hit to center in the 7th was anywhere else in the park but dead center, its gone and his legend grows even larger.

Obviously not the outcome I wanted, but it happens. People wondered why they didn't throw Arrieta vs Kershaw, but Hendricks threw a gem outside of one swing. I'm more worried about the offense not quite gelling yet. Rizzo has been poor, Russell has been awful. I like Arrieta vs Hill, but I would like to get a few runs. Kershaw is a freak of nature.

Fuck Toronto fans. One of them threw a beer at a player and tonight you all just cheered when an injury took a pitcher out of the game. Fucking assholes. Oh, by the way, your favorite player is a whiny bitch. Maybe he should try not whiffing at curve balls instead of complaining about refs.
